Wouldn't your method just remove it as a widget? Meaning it's still counting steps but just the widget is removed.

Where is that option ? I searched for it and didn't find.. Sure it's on EMUI 10.0 ?
Send a screenshot, I think it will be easier

I have it on mate 20 emui 9.1
if it's not there just go to settings and on top in search type step it should lead you where it's been moved ...

Not sure if it's the same with the mate 30 or not. But on the mate 20x still counts steps even with the Huawei health app removed.
GSAM shows step counter under usage, under Android system sensor information.
Also Aida64 shows it being used at a hardware level under the menu of sensors. So in essence my device records steps whether you like it or not. Check your device using the two apps I mentioned above.

It seems to be a Huawei feature or issue as I'm on emui 9.1
I have a feeling that without root there won't be a way of stopping the in-built step counter sensor from recording steps even with H Health removed. Like I mentioned, I don't even have a step counter on my lock screen, yet GSAM and Aida64 show the step counter being used all the time.
Keep us updated it you come across anything .

The only way to stop showing steps in the lock screen in by changing the theme, all the OOB themes have steps count.
After you download a new theme, you can go to Themes->Me->Customize->Lock screen style to apply only the lock screen style

Themes Store

I'm coming from a Huawei P9 Lite, and I loved about it the many themes there were available for donwloading, but now, in my Honor 8, when I enter to THEMES, it only shows Local Themes, there's not any option to download ...
Is there a problem with my phone, Huawei does not has this option for Honor? Or what?
Thanks already to those who can provide me information or solutions.
You have to have your Huawey account set on the phone (maybe the HiCare as well but I don't remeber).
Than you can download themes from the app called "Themes"
Thanks. I'll try that. But What I noticed is my phone doesn't have Huawei ID pre-installed nor Hicloud and Hicare... Will see if it's possible to install it or not...
Are you able to download themes?

Yes I am able to download them:
From the settings you should be able to sign into your Huawei account (there is a menu optoin for that).
That's exactly how it was on my Huawei p9 lite, but can't manage to do it in my Honor 8, last question, what themes app version (or build) do you have? Thanks again.
Can you guys upload the apk. Needed to have this working... Thank you

Did you set your phone number? The only difference what I see right now from the screenshots that you have your email adress and I have my phone number (and secondarily my email) paired to my account.
I used my email address, so I don't think it could be that. Maybe if you try and force close the theme app, clear all the data etc.
Go to settings > apps > and select the themes app
I'm having the same problem and i recently discovered that themes store is not available in US versions:

Ok,good news here @danymart94
I finally found a solution
Get this app from play store
It's called EMUI tweaker:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teammt.gmanrainy.emuitweaker
Now, from the list hit Disable online theme, by default it's turned on
Just switch it off by hitting the toggle then head to the Themes app,
Launch it then your themes app will show a disclaimer now hit ok...
Tada ... online themes are just between your hands.

Navbar Removal

So it seems if you modify the boot.img and add qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 to the default.prop it disabled the Navbar! I'll post updated boot images in the boot images thread.
False alarm, the navbar is gone but when you lock and unlock the screen again you get the black screen.

You can actually hide the navigation bar without root on the Huawei Mate 9 using a simple ADB command. I didn't know you guys were interested in this - I can write up a quick tutorial.

I know how to hide it with the adb command but I'm trying to completely remove (disable) it so I can use LMT Launcher. qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 causes the phone to boot to a black screen, it's a bug in EMUI 5. In KangVIP there's an option to remove it but I can't find out a way to remove (disable) it running a stock rom.

I don't think we're talking about the same ADB command. I'm not talking about immersive mode. The one I'm talking about completely hides (only) the navigation bar. It's an ADB command unique to the Mate 9 (possibly EMUI 5.0 but I don't have another Huawei device to verify).

If you have the Chinese AL00 version the posted [ROM][AL00] Mate 20 X GlobAL00ized beta [Debloated][Mostly Deodexed] rom fixes this issue!! You'd have to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP (also has been posted), format phone (including internal storage), install rom and optionally install Magisk for root. Using Nova with no issues selecting between Huawei Home and Nova from Default apps setting. Although it's using 175 and not 185.

That's one of the reasons i don't buy Chinese models. Works fine on EVR-L29 (C432)
I just want landscape on home screen for stock launcher. When I'm in recent apps in landscape and go back to home screen the home screen is in landscape for a split second. It looks so good.Too scared to do the root. Never have done that. If this was a 300 dollar phone I would try.

It won't work and fails. You have to flash stock recovery_ramdisk to do the update. Unless you're on [ROM][AL00] Mate 20 X GlobAL00ized beta [Debloated][Mostly Deodexed] rom in which case there are instructions to update to the new beta 2 version that will update to 185 during the process.
Huawei just push this update today to my phone as well.. I just said pass ! I will not Update from 175 to 185 since i see no improvements !
The only thing that upset me is the Option that 185 brings : Automatically Add Watermark Logo to Photos taken with Back camera !
Why you do this Huawei ! WHYYY.... Free advertising is good isn't ?
What if i want to post a pic to IG and i don't want people to see it was taken with my phone ... ?! Huawei is pushing our boundaries really hard... First, it was the Bootloader lock, then no 3rd Party Launchers, now Automatically Add watermark to our photos... Hmmm...

Had the same reaction at first but when I checked it was indeed a setting and to be honest upon reflexion it would have been a dumb move from them to force a watermark/logo on photos
