I am now getting it hope I like it because I was enjoying custom roms lol
I just remembered I never updated to 2.4 and was using ROMS I always wondered why my bluetooth wouldn't work lol
The OTA Update?
Or something else?
Wait! Don't update just yet! Let it download, but don't apply the update yet!!!
Wait for a developer to pop in so that they can instruct you on how to send it over to them. It's important to have a clean download of an OTA update as soon as possible, to share with a developer.
I think he means blur version 2.4.330, not actual android 2.4, it hasn't even come out yet and won't come out for a few more months.

When will ics come ota to my i9023 in germany ?? Any ideas????

It came over the air already, starting on December 16th but was only available for about 3 Days because of the battery drainage bug some people seem to have with ICS. I just updated manually to ICS and it works like a charm, could be more fluently but my Battery is currently on 60% and is already running 1Day,22 Hours.
So wait until Google Pushes a new Update or update manually.
No Official word when it will come, though.
Where did you get that update you applied manually? I have ICS, too - but I flashed a custom rom. Got a link?
yeah, how in dog doo do I update manually. I see no threads on such a thing.
I just got my Nexus s and im loving it!
SIM-FREE NEXUS S UK
Baseband version - O9020XXJK8
kernel version - 2.6.35.7-g7f1638a [email protected] #1
build number GRH78
When i go to System update button it says its already up to date
whats the problem?
i really want to update to 4.0.3
THANKS
You will have to update it manually, download the update and use the bootloader.
I tried every ROM with ICS and the battery is draining really fast, i recommend you stick to GB, and wait for ICS to mature.
Battery drain is the reason Google stopped the OTA update
Read this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13475125
And don't worry about bad battery life in ICS. It's a myth.

Myth? Just because u don't have that bug doesn't mean it's not there. After the OTA update my battery lasted for 6 hours max, even after clean install of stock ICS I couldn't get more than 8-9 hours while disabling some apps.
I keep seeing all these topics about OTA updates, and Verizon updates, and I feel like I am missing something by not going completely back to stock to update.
Am I?
Because as far as being rooted, I change the ROM I use, the Kernel, some root apps...I don't know.
Basically, is there ANY reason for me to go back to stock to update besides seeing how Official JB looks?
Thanks in advance.

Official JB (on Verizon) probably won't be out until like.. February of 2013. This update only matters if you have NO SIM problems when texting/calling.
When it comes to Verizon OTA's and being rooted, just wait a few days after its released for devs to re-base their roms on the latest update. If you want to certifiably maintain your root access/unlocked bootloader then it's better to wait and see when devs update their roms/kernels. Also, this is not a Jelly Bean OTA. We are months from a Verizon update to Jelly Bean. I'll be happy to be wrong about my 4.1.1 update estimate.
Here's what the new update entails:

Cool, thanks for the info/link.
None of those updates matter to me, so I'm good.
Sticking to custom roms/kernels then.

Not a problem at all. I'm just interested to see if it can be rooted using the existing exploits. Less headaches for all the new folks who accept the update.
Hi all,
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere (I'm obviously not searching for the right thing!) but wondered if users on Q beta 6 will receive an official OTA with the full Android 10 release, or whether we'll need to go back to Pie first? I can't be bothered to reset everything
I'm guessing the final Android 10 will be an official OTA once released
We've had an OTA from last beta to official release last year (and for Oreo's beta program it was like that as well iirc), so yes. Anything else worrying you that we could ease?

Nope, that sounds very promising! Cheers
Yes, always an OTA update to turn beta to official. Sometimes just less than 100MB.
