Hi, I have a Moto G 2. It's stopped working. When I turn it on, the Motorola animation appears and plays ok, but when it finishes all I get is a black screen. I have tried a factory reset from the menu that you get from pressing the power and the volumen down buttons but instead the dead Android I get the message "Boot Up failed". The phone has never been rotted, I have never unlocked the bootloader or did anything of that style.
Can somebody help me, please? I don't have idea of how to fix it. :crying:
(I need very detailed instructions, since I don't know a lot about this)

I just bought an LG V905 tablet used but there is a password on it.
I can't get it to do a factory reset.
I tried holding the volume button ( both up and down ) with the reset button.
when i use the up volume button i get a screen that says "entering lg mdp mode"
and "DO NOT POWER DOWN" downloading now..."
i left it over night like that and it still was at the same screen in the morning.
when i try it with the down volumne it get
"Starting fastboot usb download protocol" anf the LG logo and it sits there.
can anybody tell me how to reset this tablet ?
Thanks In Advance
JP
I'm in the same boat.
I had a force close happen while installing a 3d wallpaper apk that rendered my touch screen insensitive to touch. This virtually bricks my device as I cannot unlock the screen during start up. Everything else works as I can hear notifications and watch it connect to my wifi network.
I've tried flashing stock images for the lg-909 (system.img, bootloader.bin, flashboot.img) and this did not work on my LG-905. It would get stuck in a continuous boot loop in the t-mobile animations.
My LG-905 is a Rogers device so the stock images are now obviously different than the T-Mobile's.
I need fresh images for the LG-905. If anyone has rooted their device using the instructions for the LG-909 they will have one of these back-up images available. I would ask someone help me out by making this available to me. Mine has been corrupted and is unusable.
Other than this, perhaps someone can help me restore my screen sensitivity by some other means as I have access to the file system using ADB, APX and sometimes fastboot (when it works).
Hi!
My N5 hung and shut down abruptly. I tried restarting it but it hung repeatedly at the start screen. Frustrated, I tried factory reset but again it hung repeatedly at the 'erasing data' screen.
I did some hunting and found a soltuion. I downloaded SDK & 4.4.2 image and did a fastboot (i dont know what it means but it seems to have helped everyone) Again, nothing happened (I did unlock the bootloader before doing all of this)
Now I tried factory reset again and just after selecting the "recovery mode" option, the "updates installation" screen appeared and this screen wouldnt go away, at all. I tried to go to the bootloader screen again using the volume down+start keys, but it restarted at the "update installation" screen again and didnt progress any further.
Please help me !
Thanks

Did you follow the tutorial? If you flashed 4.4.2 that is the latest image available. What recovery are you using? Stock I take it if you flashed the factory images? If you turn the phone completely off and then held vol down plus the power it will go to the android guy with his stomach open and this is fastboot. As long as you can get here we are ok.
If you were stock and unrooted hopefully it didn't just tank randomly...

Sounds like the bootloader partition is corrupted. Try holding the power button and both volume buttons with the phone off. That will take you to the backup bootloader. From there you should be able to run flash-all.bat.

Did you try to boot the backup bootloader?
My phone seems to be stuck in download mode. I'm trying to get it to recovery, all attempts result in it going back to download.
I just don't know how to get something else showing on here.
Background: Phone was rooted on Kitkat but I lost the root when I upgraded to Lollipop.
Was trying to root the phone with via the one click (http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951) which seems simple enough. However, my phone would not enter into download mode so I couldn't continue the steps. I found someone with my exact problem right here on XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=57125760&postcount=9) and in doing what he did, my phone DID enter into download mode, just got stuck in it.
Edit: In pressing Volume Down and Power off and on (press them, release them, press them, release them, etc) an unknown white screen that reads "Factory Data Reset" and a "yes" and "no" has came up. I don't know if I replaced my CWM recovery with this weird thing, in doing what the XDA poster said?? Even if I press "yes", the download mode screen comes back upon restart.
2nd edit: I did get it working. Left the phone connected to the LGMobile Support Tool while I tried the "Upgrade Recovery" again and after a few tries of that it turned on all by itself. Will try rooting again, hopefully succesfully this time
Hi guys, I have a Moto G 1stGeneration. I followed the unroot guide at the unlockr.com (can't link it due to my newb status on these forums). And I was pretty much at the end of the process, then rebooted after flashing the TWRP Recovery. But then the 'WARNING BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED SCREEN' appeared... and now it won't go away. I can't even get into fastboot mode with Power + Vol Down. It just shuts off the Moto G fo a second, then the screen reappears. I dun goofed. I didn't clear the cache before reboot. I can't even connect the phone to my PC anymore (it isn't detected at all). I can't even just shut down the device. It just boots back up. Like it's giving me the finger. I'm ready to just wipe out the phone, then start over. But I have no idea how since I can't get into recovery mode at all. If I manage to shut it off, the warning screen reappears. Can't escape it. Any suggestions?

Greetings and welcome to assist. I found this thread that may help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/how-to-revive-hard-bricked-moto-g-t2833798
Try asking in the moto g forums as there have been a few users having bootloader issues

I think I may be in brick mode, but if someone has an answer I would sure appreciate it.
On boot I'm stuck in "No Command". I do the volume down and power and I'm able to get the menus recovery, shut down etc and the only thing that works is to shut down. Recovery just loops me to "no command". Is there a possible solution to get back to goodness. I had my bootloader unlocked and tried to install TWRP recovery but started having issues so in using SkipSoft toolkit I relocked my bootloader and that's where the issue began.
Big thanks in advance if I can possible recover my device.

When you get to the no command screen, press and hold the power button and then push volume up. That should boot it into recovery.

Thanks, but I've tried that a few times and it still loops me back to the "no command" screen...
Well I was able to get to the recovery screen, thanks...I tried to do a factory restore and did not work. Called Google and was able to return. Bootloader says locked so I'm hoping there will not be a hiccup when they get the replacement.
I had a similar issue (phone had unlocked bootloader, rooted, phone shut off unexpectedly and wouldnt charge after that. Had the same issue of not being able to get into recovery mode, would just bootloop after selecting recovery) and ended up doing an RMA through google. I have a question in terms of recovering data from a Pixel phone in this state, is it possible? I was unable to recover my data, just curious if it is possible.

I cannot answer that question but I'm glad you were able to get your data. My Pixel was toast so not a chance to get data back!!!
