I just bought an LG V905 tablet used but there is a password on it.
I can't get it to do a factory reset.
I tried holding the volume button ( both up and down ) with the reset button.
when i use the up volume button i get a screen that says "entering lg mdp mode"
and "DO NOT POWER DOWN" downloading now..."
i left it over night like that and it still was at the same screen in the morning.
when i try it with the down volumne it get
"Starting fastboot usb download protocol" anf the LG logo and it sits there.
can anybody tell me how to reset this tablet ?
Thanks In Advance

I'm in the same boat.
I had a force close happen while installing a 3d wallpaper apk that rendered my touch screen insensitive to touch. This virtually bricks my device as I cannot unlock the screen during start up. Everything else works as I can hear notifications and watch it connect to my wifi network.
I've tried flashing stock images for the lg-909 (system.img, bootloader.bin, flashboot.img) and this did not work on my LG-905. It would get stuck in a continuous boot loop in the t-mobile animations.
My LG-905 is a Rogers device so the stock images are now obviously different than the T-Mobile's.
I need fresh images for the LG-905. If anyone has rooted their device using the instructions for the LG-909 they will have one of these back-up images available. I would ask someone help me out by making this available to me. Mine has been corrupted and is unusable.
Other than this, perhaps someone can help me restore my screen sensitivity by some other means as I have access to the file system using ADB, APX and sometimes fastboot (when it works).

Hi
After being on numerous custom Roms for the xoom I decided to return to stock and was succesful in return to the 3.01 stock image for the wifi MZ604 model
I was also successful in relocking the xoom.
I then began to receive the offical updates though everytime the were applied I had to go into recovery and wipe the device as otherwise it would bootloop on the dual core screen.
On the last update that it received and that was installed , on rebooting nothing happend and the screen just went blank
No combination of volume up + power would show any sign of doing anything.
After leaving the tablet to the side for awhile I noticed it came up with the following
model mz604 : Revision0 (0x8000) modem none
InitBl Info function failed with codes 299/3
failed to boot 0x0001
starting RSD mode 3
one wire : charger is not connected or battery is not being charged
battery charge level : 56%
I tried fastbooting and adb at this point but no devices are found. However when plugging in the xoom my laptop recognises something is attached.
After some searching I found out about RSd lite and SBF files.
When opening rsdlite v5.6 (running as admin) the tablet is recognised and I have now attempted to use two sbf files
HUBWF_W5.H.6.4-20_SIGNED_UCAHUBLWFRTCOREEU_P010_A010_M004_HWwifi_hubble_AP1FF.sb f
and
HUBWF_W5.H.6.2-24_SIGNED_UCAHUBLWFRTCOREEU_P006_A006_M003_HWwifi_hubble_Service1 FF.sbf
however both fail when it attempts re numeration.
I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone could give on this
Thanks
Try this.
My mom's Xoom had a similar problem. Reboot the tablet by pressing Volume Up and Power.
Then quickly turn on the xoom and press the down button as fast as possible, and continue pressing until you see "Recovery Mode" (or something similar) on the top left of the screen.
Once you see that, press the volume up button. Quickly, when you see the Android guy with the exclamation mark tap the power button and the up button.
This will take you to recovery mode. In there use the up and down volume keys to navigate and the power button to confirm things.
Go down to restore/delete data (may vary) and press power. use the volume down key to scroll to Yes.
This will restore your tablet back to factory settings. If you're trying to backup your data, don't try... No such luck and you won't be able to without the tablet booted.
thanks for the reply but this didnt work. Tried quite a few times. The screen just goes blank and again after a long while the error shown in the op appears. Should add there is no Motorola logo showing.
I have also tried forcing fastboot by the instructions found in other similar threads but again this does not work.
I think my best bet is the SBF files , but need to understand why this is failing on re-numeration
So I rooted my phone, and being the curious experimental type that I am, I decided to factory reset my phone...
I found out the hard way that this is taboo.
Unfortunately, before doing so I created ZERO backups and didn't install any custom recovery. I wasn't using a custom ROM either.
Now my phone boots up, goes from LG logo to Virgin Mobile animation, and then to a black screen with the notification bar at the top. No buttons do anything, not even the power button. I have to pull the battery to turn it off.
I have all of the drivers and ADB installed on my computer, however I can't seem to enter fastboot mode (it just keeps saying "waiting for device"). Also when I reboot into bootloader mode it brings me to the recovery screen with the four options (reboot, update from SD, factory reset, wipe cache).
I'm not really sure where to go from here. Any guidance at all would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I did the factory reset normally on via the setting menus. Then the phone restarted normally and stuck at at the XPERIA screen with changing colors for hours.
Did a force restart and the same thing happens. If I boot holding volume up and power at the first vibration it says 'Your device is corrupt. It can’t be trusted and may not work properly.' and boot into a screen with three dots (apparently a corrupted software).
Xperia Companion wouldn't help as it says "locked screen" when both power off and on.
I tried to fastboot via adb to factory reset again hoping things will get better. But the device is not detected despite installing the driver a million time.
I can't think of any other options. PLEASE HELP

Clean flash ftf with Flashtool. See this If you don't know
I use this forums a lot for info but in this case i can't find any leads of whee to go with this, so wondering if someone can chip in some ideas?
I flashed a ROM via flashtool but wasn't happy with it, so i thought i'd just go back to stock and so used flash tool AKA emma to flash one of the options given there.
First attempt to flash it said "flash failed" or something like that and had the "flashing failed, connect to computer" note in the phone when booting it. (I'm sort of making up the terms, not that much into the tech ). Anyway, i tried flashing the same FW again and this time it went through really quick being 'completed' in a few seconds.
Now when i try to boot it gets stuck in the 'Sony' logo. Can go into Fastboot but no Flash Mode (nothing happens using the vol down key), and USB debugging seems to be off now as well.
Emma only works in Flashmode so can't do anything with that. Flashtool doesn't offer anything useful in Fastboot and Xperia Companion recognises the phone when in Fastboot but asks that i unlock the screen and enter MTP...
Any help of where i can go with this?
Thanks
P.s. While keeping buttons pressed randomly it went once into flash mode, but trying to flash a ROM with flashtool it got stuck at "reding device data" and i haven't been able to enter the mode again. Is there an alternative key press combination that i stumbled on by chance? I think i just kept vol up and power held for a while and let go at a random number of phone vibrations
Just tried: Flashed twrp via fastboot and then rebooted into recovery. Same thing. It still opens to Sony splash screen and stays there
Ok, i'm kind of talking to myself here, but mild success and something that might help someone.
Managed to get back in flash mode. Don't know if it's a fluke, unique to this phone, or how it's actually meant to work, but the sequence is:
From the freezed up splash screen, and the USB connected, press and keep pressed power+vol up (hard restart/shutdown)
You get a single vibration, if you let go here it restarts. Keep pressing
You get a triple vibration, if you let go here it shuts down. Keep pressing
You get a single vibration, if you let go here it starts in fastboot. Keep pressing
You get a second single vibration, if you let go here it starts in flash mode.
Possibly a fluke but don't want to have to try again!
Anyway, i managed to flash the last working firmware and it's all good, yet this is the unwanted one. So issue is i still need to downgrade the phone to 7.1.1
Apologies for formatting, typing up on my phone during my break at work.
To be more specific, I have a samsung a51 that recently had a black screen of death with no known cause. The samsung splash screen as well as the recovery menus alll work correctly however once it boots past those, including when attempting "recovery mode" the screen turns off. Given time to finish booting the buttons work, and if a keyboard with OTGis plugged in I can move through some of the menu's (such as holding power buttons to brind up power menu and using keyboard to select options).
I have attempted a factory reset via recovery menu with no success as well as using ODIN to flash the stock software. ODIN does say it completes but won't succeed when attempting to downgrade to the previous version of android.
I am unable to get the phone set to usb debugging (even using a keyboard with OTG cable, I have another working a51 and figure out exactly how to do it without the screen).
My thoughts are that it is software related and that I either need to:
a. somehow bypass the frp lock and attempt a restore
b. bypass the frp lock and downgrade to a previous android version for the phone.
The only other thing i am seeing is a binary menu that on some phones boot to after restoring in the recovery menu and restarting however I am either not seeing this or it doesn't have it.
Would appreciate any help i can get on this brick wall i'm hitting. HALP!
