I might as well ask here.
Im running COS 12.1-Y0G4PAS1N0 and whenever I enter a wifi signal that it knows, it has issues reconnecting and stays on 3G/4G, sucking up data. I try to reconnect and it gives a error. Entering and exiting airplane mode usually fixes it but not always.
Any way to fix this?
Anything?

If anyone knows, will the ViperOneS ROM get the updates TMO just released?

Specifically,
Helps with data connection delay
Helps with signal fluctuations
At random times, data signal will drop and won't reconnect to the network. Only fix is to go into Airplane mode and back.

for the signal fluctuations i solved it with "Disable FastDormancy" got the same problem like you before.
For the data connection delay I don't understand what you mean.

I've done the "Disable Fast Dormancy" and that seems to keep it connected to the network longer, but it'll still randomly disconnect from the network (just less frequently).
Well the "Helps with data connection delay" seems to describe what happens to me when I browse or use an app that requires data.

Basically, you can see the data signal bars drop and everything appears to time-out, then it will disconnect from the network. You can either wait a few minutes for it to reconnect, or go into Airplane mode or do a reboot to get it to re-connect.
One thing that I've noticed when going into Airplane mode, is from the Settings menu, the Mobile Network switch is greyed out and the phone takes about 1-2 minutes to put itself in Airplane mode. But when I do have signal, going into Airplane mode is much quicker. Is there a way to view what the phone or radio are doing when it disconnects?
Wich radio are u on?
Maybe updating could fix it
If I helped in anyway please hit thanks
Hi,
I've noticed that my XT1032 sometimes has its wifi "frozen".
What happens is that I'll be out and about and perhaps connect to wifi hotspot at a coffee shop.
When I get home, my wifi is "stuck" and still thinks it's seeing the wifi networks from when I was out. If i run a wifi analyzer app, it reports still seeing the wifi hotspots from when I was out.
Turning off wifi and turning it back on doesn't help.
I need to reboot the phone for the wifi to work properly and see and connect to my home network.
Anybody else getting this behaviour? Anybody have any suggestions on a fix?
no need to reboot,

no need to reboot, airplane mode for a couple of seconds fixes the issue.

Same here!!
I also have the same problem. In addition, what I noticed is - I turn off the WiFi in Settings page and when I go into Settings->WiFi, it shows that the WiFi is turned ON. Now if I turn it OFF here, again when I come out, in Settings page it shows that the WiFi is turned ON. This goes on and on until I reboot.
It's probably a software issue
If you are rooted, then install a good and stable custom rom and you are good to then

I think that's the same behaviour as on my phone and probably why turning WIFI off and then on again didn't fix the issue -- it probably didn't really turn the WIFI off whereas I'm guessing that putting it into/out of Airplane mode actually does disable and reenable the WIFI.
I can live with the Airplane mode trick -- much better than needing to reboot!

I have the same issue, but with another irritating problem:
It ereases all my previous saved wifi network.
I cant stand this. rebooting the phone always makes me loose all my previous saved wifi network. Did this happened to you guys, too ? I will try airplane mode and see if it stops erasing.
Hope kit kat solves this Sh*t
6 days since I moved into KitKat and no issues with WiFi so far. Hope it stays the same way

Me too!
Same issue for me. Doesn't happen often - but sometimes it does the same thing with my cell network connection. Also fixed with a quick airplane mode and back.
No one know a fix or at least the reason?
Chris
Hey,
I have a Nexus 5 that is set up to basically act as a router using wireless tethering. I live in an area where I constantly have full-blast LTE that is usually above 30Mbps. For about a month, everything's been great until this last week. Now, every few hours my data connection gets killed completely after anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours after tethering has been running. Data stops working on all tethered devices as well as the Nexus 5. Entering airplane mode and then resetting the WiFi tether fixes the symptoms, and if that fails, restarting fixes it.
I've disabled wireless_tether_dun (sp?), switched to IPv4 and I sometimes use a VPN that passes through all network traffic through the VPN. Even with VPN disabled, the data drop keeps happening.
I know there are so many things that can be going on, but has anyone else noticed this recently? I'm wondering if it is a hardware issue, a signal issue, or perhaps T-Mobile has changed something on their side of things that is killing my somewhat obvious abuse of their network.
x2

I am having the exact same issue -my post- in a completely different place, only I have been assured it is completely fine to use my phone on the network in this way. Did you ever find a solution to this?
Hi guys,
I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue? basically if I use wi-fi and then turn it off, my phone connects back to 4g but I cannot load anything using internet, I have tried toggling mobile internet on/off, airplane mode etc.. only thing that works is restarting the phone!
anyone know if there's a fix or if this is a well known bug?
Thanks!
Has anyone else experienced this or able to help? It's still happening after updating to 5.1.6.
I've tried swapping the SIM card from slot 1. To 2 but still happens! I've tried toggling airplane mode, toggling mobile internet... Nothing works apart from restarting phone!!
I'm still on 5.1.5, but I have gotten this glitch once.
**SOLVED**
Okay so after hours of trying to work out what it was, turns out it was my "Block this" VPN adblock that was causing the issue. Once I disabled this I could switch between WiFi/mobile no problem!
I advise anyone else experiencing this to check their VPN ?
When i connect to my wifi i get good speeds for certain time.... Then after a few seconds i get very bad speeds... And then my speeds increases again and so on....
Anyone facing same issue?
Any fixes?
I had this problem too after updating but it seems to have fixed itself. Might help clearing cache from recovery or even factory resetting the phone. Also do you have Magisk or other mods?
I had this issue where if I rebooted I'd get quick speeds for a few seconds (just under 200Mbps) then it would drop to less than 5Mbps from then on. I ended up having to roll back to Android 8 (after wiping cache, resetting network settings, etc.) which has fixed it.
So I am also getting this but I think I know what it is.
At work I have to connect to a wifi network, then log in on a website.
Before the update as soon as I connected to the wifi I'd have no internet access until I signed in.
Now with 9 it continues to use the mobile data even after logging in. I actually have to turn off mobile data for it to switch to wifi. If I don't then I get the issue you all are having. When connected to wifi with mobile data off the speeds are consistent.
I have this exact issue. Sometimes I get my full wifi speed (100 Mbit) and then it drops to 0.5 and keeps on going up and down.
I've been having this same issue on 9.0.2, only on the 5ghz network though. Happens at my house, but not at work.
