Have some strange reception misses in Dallas, where AT&T reception is normally rock solid. Back in my HTC m7 days flashing the right radio made a world of difference on my tmobile version. Would flashing the 930A modem make a difference on my G930F ?

Unfortunately I don't have answer for you but a question, as I may be getting into a similar situation as you. The version you have is the international , as I see, where did you buy it? I know they're available on Ebay and now on Best buy so i was curious if the reception issue was across all model "F's" no matter the purchase location? Also do you find yourself missing text messages only to get a mass of them a few hours earlier (i had this issue with a international Z3 compact) ? I really dont want to have to get the Snapdragon variant with the lesser batt life and crap ass carrier bloat but if reception is an issue, I may be stuck.. I'm in San Antonio, TX by the way. Thanks in advance!

Hello guys, I just bought a Fuze on ebay, locked to AT&T of course. But I have T-Mobile. I have already payed the person who will unlock it for me. But if I then install a new ROM will it still work with T-Mo? and what is a Radio? I saw it has been mentioned here quite often.
Sorry for being a noob

about Radio most roms comes with one installed already i suggest to get use to flashing new roms and from there you will understand more about Radio.Good luck.
Yes
Yes U can I flash several times a week using a T-mobile USA phone plan and so far Radio wise I get the best performance from 1.12.25.19. The latest one isn't bad either it depends where you live and some other stuff I can't really explain. I stay in Houston area incase that helps. Radio as to do with how your phone handles signal like gps etc. I suggest you read allot of threads to understand more things, be confident with what your doing before you flash
Hi Ali
As suggested by gguy- the radio is the part of the phone that communicates with the mobile phone network (and gps satelites). It is not a direct reference to the FM radio function.
Try to find a new radio based upon recommendations from others on the same carrier as you.
The quality of signal strength varies from one radio to another, what suits me might not suit you. It is worth noting that the radio will also have an impact on battery life as a weak signal will drain the battery faster.
On a locked phone you will only be able to use rapheal radios, if you unlock your phone you will be free to use the radios from some other phones.
Updating the radio leaves the rom as is and thus will not delete your files.
Hi guys
I recently bought a generic unbranded HTC ONE SV from a German website, as I was looking for an LTE-enabled phone that didn't have a screen big as a flatscreen TV.
I have had the phone now for a couple of weeks and I am overall happy with it. The only problem is that it does not seem to get any LTE action. My operator (Tele2 Sweden) assures me my sim card is enabled for 4G and I live in the center of a city with excellent 4G coverage. Yet, my phone shows an H at best (haven't actually ever seen even an H+).
Digging around this and other forums, I found a few indications that my ONE SV version K2_U (model id PL8013000) might actually not have support for LTE after all.
It seems also all ROM updates currently available are for the K2_UL model, including the one for JB (I have tried to flash these to my device after unlocking/rooting/s-offing it, but never actually managed to succeed with it, while I can flash and reflash the stock ROM for the k2_u version)
TBH I am quite confused: all HTC websites and reviews refer to the ONE SV as an LTE enabled phone, and I cannot find any official reference to the fact that there might be a version of this phone without LTE... So I wonder if maybe I am doing something wrong, or if maybe there is a software lock that has disabled LTE on my phone and that I can fix.
Or have I simply been screwed?
With the Easter holidays I'll have to wait until Tuesday to be able to call HTC... so if in the meantime anybody has any idea I would really appreciate it
There seems to be a lot of K2_U, non-LTE, in the US. You can have a look on the One SV root thread you'll find some.
In fact, in germany the LTE version is ONLY sold by operators (O2, Vodafone, Telekom).
All others come without LTE.

You'd think HTC would mention that on their website though... I am not upset about them selling a non-LTE version of the phone, I am outraged by the fact that they don't bother informing consumers that a phone advertised as LTE also happens to have a non-LTE version... I have also contacted them trough the htc.com website, but they did not bother to answer either.
If I had more time to waste on this I'd probably complain with the German consumer protection authorities, but TBH I have learned my lesson and this is the last HTC I buy
Thanks for your replies guys!
What does LTE means? I currently have old.splatterhands non-LTE stock rom installed for my HTC One SV. But for unknown reason, WiFi and radio connection are very weak.
LTE is fast, mobile internet.

You have the stock back/battery cover on the phone?
When you have a phone with LTE, it should be written on the backcover (4G LTE, or something like that).
If there is only written beatsaudio, you have non-LTE.
Thanks - non-LTE however

Seems you are rooted, so you can try this: Saturn III
Hi, I recently bought a used i9103 on eBay that was imported from an overseas country (Still not sure which country), seeing as it was never sold in the US. After using it a few weeks, I notice that the signal jumps radically, even when the phone is stationary.
So my question is, which baseband/modem/radio would be best? (Specifically for T-Mobile USA)
As a note, I am in a major metro zone and other phones in this same area get a strong and consistent signal.
The baseband is currently XXLQ3.
Thanks.
You can try DDLP3 baseband from Indian ICS XWLP8 rom. That's the latest and that's why it should be the best one.
I flashed the modem alone from XWLP8. I'll report back in a few days if there's any difference. I guess I should also ask if there's any difference in hardware in the models shipped to different regions? Or is there only one model, just with different software?
There is only one model as far as we know, at least there weren't any others reported.
Just an update, flashing the Indian radio didn't seem to help at all. Signal still jumps up and down wildly. Turning on Data Roaming did not help either.
I am on my 3rd S6 now in 3 weeks due to rubbish reception. Im lucky to have 1 bar (-113 db) of 4g signal in my town which has full 4g coverage. If I put the sim card into my G3 or M8 I instantly get full 4g coverage (approx -80 db). Now this is clearly a widespread issue as a quick search of google brings up people all over the world on EE, Vodafone, Virgin, AT&T and sprint to name a few. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. Im convinced its an issue that can be sorted with a software update to the modem but then who knows lol.
I got G920i model and I am using it in Canada. For me, the network is constantly fluctuating and it is stuck at -99db =\. I thought it could be hardware, but it is widespread. I am gonna get Canadian Galaxy S6 version to test this. If that has same problem, then its all S6 variants.
I hope its software because I love this international model and it has AWS (B4) that works on my carrier!
I am on latest 5.0.2 BOF6 (June 20 build). Has this network reception problem fixed in 5.1.1???
No I updated the modem first on mine to the 5.1.1 modem and it made absolutely no difference. The updated the whole rom but again no difference. Im with you in hoping it can be sorted with a software tweak to the modem. Maybe by increasing the tx power of it. But its certainly widespread so just need samsung to take note and do something about it.
Hmm...might be an antennae hardware issue. Bring back your S6 to Samsung for warranty check...
This is my 3rd one now with the same problem. The odds of 3 handsets having the same fault are pretty big. Coupled to the fact there are hundreds of people with the same problem. I know that on the old s4 and a few other phones there were apps to actually increase the tx power of the on board radio. Im convinced its just a snag that can be sorted with a software tweak.
Whats the best OTA to install using the OnePlus 9 in America?

Forgive my knowledge but which variant is le2110DA? If its oneplus 9 5g, omega kernel works? I thought omega kernel js only for the pro variant.
Best one for North America would be the LE2115. LE2110 is the China variant which is missing some 4G/5G bands used in NA.
I got 5G, im just wondering if the OTA versions make a difference.
Yes its the Unlocked Chinese Version. LE2110.
So is there a difference between AA, BA and DA as far a cell quality?
Software doesn't give you access to additional bands. You might have SA41 (tmo) but more likely you are just on b2/66 and tmo just gives you the 5G icon. Check with cellmapper to be sure. Your best bet is to get rid of the 2110 and get an actual US device if you want proper 5g
I was thinking the same thing about the 5G icon. It goes from LTE to 5G sometimes.
My speeds are about 50-60mbps when im not connected to wifi. You guys think thats pretty fair and decent?

For me, Tmo has had the least of issues. No data or calling issues. No Bluetooth issues such as robot voices on car stereo and better distance outside of vehicle. No odd hiccups.
Although people are mislead with T-Mobiles update numbers not matching, they're actually the same. 11.2.8.8 for AA,DA,BA will be realeased on TMobile as 11.2.6.6. it's the same patches and iterations.
Looking forward to either Monday or Tuesday to getting my new op9.
Selling my imac tomorrow and will not be getting a computer for awhile as I'm tired of either breaking phones or bricking them.

My first oneplus arrives tomorrow, so it's safe to say I should flash the t-mobile rom over my unlocked vanilla rom? I do live in an area where t-mobile isn't the strong hence why I dumped my verizon s21 ultra for something where I can easily control options down to the service menu etc. Funny I tested my non branded moto g and had less call drops with a tmobile sim than I did with my verizon unlocked s21 with the tmb sim.

No, don't flash the t-mo rom over anything lol. If you are on tmobile and ordered a LE2115/2125 just don't mess with it unless installing a custom rom.

Okay sounds good. I had just read above that someone said the tmobile firmware was less buggy than the unlocked version but maybe those issues have been worked out I guess.

That's more like 4G speed. 5G speed would be more than double that. But again, it depends on the area you're in and the coverage for your carrier.

No I didn't say that. It's meant if converting from Tmo to Global roms. If you are on Global stay there.

ahhhh okay sounds good. thanks again
Does anyone have the latest T-Mo modem files? I'm currently on the Europe 11.2.8.8 image but I've been having radio problems since I moved off of the T-Mo base (started with 11.2.4.4 global). I'm getting bad call quality, Wifi and BT issues, and seeming slow data.
I'd like to try flashing the modem files first before redoing the whole thing with MSM.
One other thing - going back to a T-Mo load with MSM won't SIM relock my phone, will it?
Thanks!
Use the Omega Kernal.
But as far as the best Variant. I've been on all of them AA, BA(which your on now) and DA. I think they are all the same besides the DA runs the smoothest out of all the variants

What would Omega kernel do for me? And as that one in the Pro forum?
I've downloaded bluspark, but haven't used it yet. Only stock kernel
Bro Omega kernal is off the chain. So much battery life. Not sure as far for connection. And yeah 9 and 9 Pro are universal.
Thanks. I'll give it a try. Do I install it thru TWRP? I've used Elemental X for so long not sure how other kernels work.
I use EX Kernal Manager
