Hello, my phone worked perfectly until i open it by power button pressed youtube and then phone shut down.
I can't power it on by only battery.
I can power it on by 2 sec when i plug charger and then restarts!
If i keep pressing volume down it enters bootloader and after 2 sec restart.
Cause???
Power button failure?
Could be a power button issue. Remove the motherboard from the case, clean around the button with some isopropyl alcohol, quickly press and release the power button using more pressure than normal, put it back into the case, try to boot.
Had the phone to a service and fixed for a 15$
Did you have the power button replaced?

I dropped my NS the other day and now the power button has became very finicky. I've read about others with power button problems but from the issues I'm experiencing I think the problem might be software related and not caused by dropping it.
When the screen is off, hitting the power button always turns the screen back on but sometimes brings up the power menu
When the screen is on, press and long pressing the power button doesn't do anything
When the phone is off, pressing the power button turns the phone on, and I can get to the bootloader using the power + volume up
The power button issues I'm having only seem to happen when the screen is on, otherwise the power button works like it should. I've clean installed my rom twice but the porblem stays the same.

It will probably fail on you completely eventually.
Is there a way to shut off the phone without the power button?
I left my phone out in the rain for about 20-30 minutes, the power button and the volume up button are no longer functioning. Is there a way to shut off this phone without the power button functioning and without root?

up until now i was using Power Button to Volume Button to turn the screen on /off.
the device died on me yesterday, due to low battery and now idk wth to do
Plug it in, hold volume down.
When it goes in download mode use the volume button to choose cancel.

TLDR; Phone won't turn on, notification light flashes red once on power up (sometimes), black screen all the time. :crying:
So my brother has asked me to try and fix his Nexus 5 as he isn't tech savvy at all.
So the problem he is having started when he tried powering the phone on and it started to boot up and then started resetting iteself.
It now will not power on at all and doesn't seem to be on at all.
When holding the power button, it will sometimes flash the notification light (at the bottom) red for a second or two. No other response from the phone.
I've tried holding the power button for up to 5 minutes with nothing. I've tried holding the V+ key with the power button for a few seconds up to a few minutes then tried pressing the buttons expected to get to a reset menu with no indication of anything.
I'm kind of lost and was wondering if anyone has had these issues before and know what is the best issue to try and repair?

It could be a faulty power button which is a common issue with the Nexus 5.
Remove the logic board, clean around the power button with isopropyl alcohol, dry it, quickly press and release the power button using more pressure than normal, re-install, and try to boot.
You could also try this: hold volume + button and connect the phone to a computer using a USB cable.

as stated, i got my power button broken probably due to water (not that waterproof huh?). The power button has worked for a few weeks, sometimes it was really sloppy and unresponsive, and stopped completely, and when my battery completely depleted i am now unable to power it on. I am able to get into download mode from where there is an option to restart the phone but of course it requires to press vol down + power button.
Have you got any magic tricks to turn on a turned off s10e with the power button broken ?
Hello! The solution: press volume down + bixby button and now plug usb c data cable (computer->phone), wait 3-5 seconds and phone starting in download mode. From download mode you can restart the phone with volume down button.
