Hi guys,
I am having trouble with LTE signal on android 6.0.1. I bought the phone in Malaysia when my old phone died on holiday. Now this s6edge was running on a modified android 5.1.1 which claimed to be a 925f model but it was a modified android somehow. Root check showed root access but no modified bootloader or supersu apps. 4g did work but a lot of other things did not work properly (because csc was CHN).
I found out I had a 925p model after failing trying to manually flash the phone to a Dutch marshmallow stockrom for the 925f (which tripped the KNOX counter grrr). The original bootloader showed the phone was 925p, so I flashed with the newest pb6 6.0.1 rom.
All seemed working fine but I cannot receive LTE signal anymore. Atm living in the UK with UK sim and I can only receive a slow H+ signal. Will i need to flash the modem.bin from 5.1.1 to get it working again?
I am getting kind of desperate now. I am not rooted and only wish to get a decent working phone and signal!

Hello,
Just bought a topaz blue unlocked S6. I think it came from an Asian country. The phone arrived perfectly with plastic in box with the same IMEI as phone. However it was rooted with SU. I went into the app and clicked to remove root. It was on 5.0.2. They I tried to flash original firmware with Smart Switch with no success.
I used odin to flash stock 5.1.1 firmware from the UK. The firmware was for 920F. It went all good. I have LTE, SMS and phonecalls. However, sometimes the baseband appears as unknown, but I still can make calls and have LTE. And it still shows the same IMEI as it is on the box and it has always shown it. Is there a way to fix this? Now, I try to flash stock firmware with Smart Switch and it says it can't initialize.
I would REALLY appreciate help. I would love to be able to flash stock firmware from Smart Switch.
I'm in México with Telcel, which uses the same bands as AT&T.
P.S. I really searched and couldn't find anything on my specific situation.
That happened to me when I was still on 5.0.2 and flashed only the 5.1.1 modem. I would suggest downloading the modem.tar file and flash that. Should all be good after that.
I'm currently downloading G920FXXU1AOD4 BTU firmware to flash it with Odin. Might that help me better? My main goal is to be 100% stock without any weirdness. And having Smart Switch recognize my phone!
Well, I'm sad.

You cannot downgrade to 5.0.2 from 5.1.1. Your bootloader will not support. I have the issue with 3G connection. Where to get the Modem.tar?
I'm not as concerned about this for ROM flashing. I'm wanting to find out if my G920T can use G920I or G920F modems/bootloaders, etc.
Here's my deal. I have a T-Mobile G920T. To unlock this phone I need to get away from the G920T modem. I previously had a G920T1 (MetroPCS) firmware set installed and it worked great, but the rom sucked.
I've since restored back to stock G920T and i've rooted/twrp, but I see other ROM's and I'd like to give them a shot. The catch - they all say I need to have the newest OI7 firmware installed. I'm still on the G920T sim locked OH8. The only OI7 modems/bootloaders I can find are for the G920F variant. I can't find OI7 for the G920T1 variant. I don't know if the G920F variant will sim unlock my phone. I don't want to brick my phone to figure that out, so this is the reason why I posted this question. I can flash ROM's all day long, but if I can't use my Cricket sim when I'm out in BFE then the ROM is pointless.
Does anyone understand what I'm asking?

DO NOT flash any FIrmewares through odin if its isn't your model number, if you purchased your phone and don't have an EIP you could sim unlock with the app, so any rom your on unless its not Touch wiz based (aren't any available besides touchwiz)
I own an unlocked Samsung G920A which I actually flashed to a G920AZ (Cricket Wireless (who is owned by AT&T)). I now want to flash to T-Mobile as I want to be able to 1. get Marshmallow. Cricket may never. 2. Be able to use WiFi calling and you can only do that with the TMO image (from what I read). I downloaded the G920TUVU3EPD1_G920TTMB3EPD1_G920TUVU3EPD1_HOME.tar and using Odin tried, but it fails.
Is it possible to flash to the T-Mobile firmware/ROM ?
If it is impossible, then I think I would want to go to the G920A again to get Marshmallow 6.0.1, then simply pop the T-Mobile SIM in, update APN, etc. Unfortunate though as the LTE bands all work. Seems sh***y it wouldn't work to use their firmware.
Hello there XDA Members,
I have a massive problem and I hope someone in this forum is able to help me, I have an S6 Edge SM-G925F, I recently broke my phone and sent it to repair they repaired it and installed firmware that is non EE therefore I lost my WiFi Calling feature, I was like okay let me just flash the EE firmware unfortunately due to the bootloader they installed being newer then the one from the EE firmware it wont let me install (SW B: 2 K: 4 S: 4) this means that the firmware I am trying to install is older and samsung bootloader wont let me, now I want to know if there is a way I can:
1) Downgrade Bootloader or get it to accept this firmware
2)Have EE WiFI calling another way
3)Install EE WiFi calling onto the phone somehow
My phone is on version 6.0.1

I would say look for a ee firmware that doesn't include the Bootloader. That way the firmware should load, most mm firmwares will run as long as you have a mm bootloader.

Ok im really hoping someone can help me.
Bought a N920F (yup doesnt exist but N920p's have taken a trip to China to be turned into this strange model)
Now the phone was working fine on Lollipop, and model used to show N920V and baseband Sprint it was like a hybrid custom firmware probably hacked up to be used in UK, but download mode etc. showed it was a N920P originally. Now I wanted to upgrade to Marshmellow, before this I made a nandroid backup and also backed up Radio & Efs using app.
Upgraded succesfully with stock N920P and now no network, tried everything. Then thought I could downgrade via flash to Lollipop to no avail as I think its now locked to do so. Nandroid restore not happening as I believe its locked to restore also unless maybe I was on lollipop.
So now im stuck on stock N920p firmware thats not working in UK networks. Im about to give up, is there any solution. Would unlocking the phone in its current state unlock it to UK networks. I hope there is a solution.
Any help to the right direction is much appreciated.
Things ive tried
Downgrade-unsuccessful
Restore Partitions-unsuccessful
Flash N920V-unsuccessful
Full restores etc-unsuccessful
nandroid restore-unsuccesful
Kind Regards

Check if there is a service menu in your settings
It should be named "activate this device"

now the 920p firmware is locked out of the box if it was unlocked sometimes certain rom flashes will relock
as prev poster said activate device is for sprint users only will never work
have you tried to goto network settings and making sure its set for global or automatic.
also is it saying invalid sim or anything like that normally first signs of being relocked.
i paid 34.99 for a unlock from the idone app worked great.
