Can someone explain the naming of the r7 series phones? - Oppo R7 Plus

I am new to oppo and have noticed that there are quite a few phones out there in the r7 series.
Correct me if I am wrong here.
Going by regular names and their model names in build.prop there are
R7 lite: r7kf
R7: r7f
R7 plus: r7s
Am I correct?
Are there any others? I have read about some mediatek versions. What are they?
What are r7g, r7plusF, r7plusG etc?
Now, the r7 and r7 lite are very similar with core hardware point of view. Except for the screen. Regular r7 has a 1080p while lite has a 720p.
My question here is, do they use the same kernel source?
Reason I ask is, I own a lite and I flashed(fastboot booted rather) a twrp recovery that was probably for the regular r7 or for r7 plus. And it booted up just fine.
Also, the build prop of my device has
ro.build.product=R7kf
ro.product.name=R7kk
ro.product.device=R7f
ro.product.model=R7kf
Does this mean oppo uses the combined source for all three devices? Can I use custom Roms built for other r7?
I have experience building roms from source and wish to do some development here. I noticed that there was no source released for the r7 lite. There was source for r7 and the plus. So, can I use the kernel source of regular r7 to build for the lite?
If so, which defconfig should I use? As the /proc/config.gz does not exist in this device.

[Q] How to build CM11 for Samsung S II Plus

I've been trying for quite some time to build CM 11 by using the device specific sources for the s2vep. Could someone explain me how to put it all together or point me to build instruction for this specific device? I think I am missing some manual steps that differ from the officially supported devices.

Getting into rom development?

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask the following question(s).
Background: I've got experience in programming Java, C#, Python and I've messed around other programming languages before.
I'd like to get into the entire ROM building / compiling / 'cooking' scene but I am clueless as where I could start. I've a Zuk Z2(plus) with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP 3.1.0-3 installed.
Rom: AOSPExtended V4.4
Kernel: DarkMoon Experimental 178
Mod(s): shox_Audio_Mod V1.4
Gapps: Opengapps micro
Root: Magisk V13.2
I've been testing lots of roms recently, and now I am getting interested in (as mentioned above) compiling my own roms and maybe even port a rom myself? I'd start out with testing on my Zuk Z2(plus) since I can recover this device from any kind of software-brick. The main reason I'd like to mess around in this scene is because I've got an older tablet laying around with a MTK SOC, but with android 4.4.4 and I'd like to be able to update this
Tablet I'd like to upgrade (eventually): Cube T9 (currently only supports android 4.4.4)
I'd like to create a ROM based on one of these tablets: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/BOBARRY-10-inch-screen-for-T109-only-a-screen/32801822243.html
It might be completely fake hardware specs, I only hope that the SOC and the android version are correct (Maybe someone can confirm this for me)?
It's the only other tablet I've found running the MT8752 SOC and an android version higher then 4.x.x.
Any idea's tips or places where I could start best? I am open to all suggestions so please comment below

[Request] Slimkat for a6000.

I am really sorry for posting my request here.
I have read the rule that states not to post requests.
But, I really want a 32bit SlimKat ROM for a6000.
I am aware of other devices running official SlimRom that sport specs very similar to a6000 (lettuce & osprey to name a few).
However, no phone capable of running SlimKat - ported or official, has specs similar to a6000 (closest, I believe, would be Peregrine).
So, I am not asking for Official SlimRom support.
It would be a real honour if you would port SlimKat ROM to a6000 - Just once without any further updates or the like is more than enough.
I understand what is ask is more than just porting ROMs but this is my last hope.
I am really sorry.
If it is not possible to create a SlimKat for a6000,
would you please create one for a similar spec'ed phone?
There are numerous phones with similar hardware specifications -
Xiaomi Redmi 2, Samsung Galaxy J5, HTC Desire 510(EU Model), Moto G4 play, Moto G 2015, Moto E (2nd) (LTE model), etc.
So, if possible please port SlimKat to any one of these & I am sure some of our devs might be able to port it to my device.
Thank You.

I was also checking around.. it looks like marshmallow and it seem that it has a few versions out to cater different countries. OPPO should have actually give details on what the download is about.
I have tested :
http://downloads.oppo.com.s3.amazon.../X9079EX_11_OTA_001_all_201703111638_wipe.zip - this file will wipe everything and upgrade to Marshmallow;
This one - X9079EX_11_OTA_013_all_201706081345_local - will only update your 2G / 3G /4G - I flashed it but I'm still with lollipop.
It seems OPPO does not have custom Rom yet.. have u tested flashing?

So that's why the supposed update file doesn't work (so update can't proceed or error or something like that) on my already upgraded to marshmallow R9 Plus
What do you mean have I tried flashing?
Are there custom roms available for Oppo R9 Plus x9079 model?

Vernee Active Android 8/Oreo and project treble

I just got my Active yesterday and installed the first OTA (ROM 20180108); unfortunately it is still on VOS Version 1.0.0 / Android 7.0 with Kernel 4.4.15, Security Patch back to November.
Still wondering if Vernee is planning to roll out an Oreo upgrade hopefully project-treble enabled to support easier upgrade and ROM porting....
Does anyone know an existing Oreo ROM project-treble enabled for Mediatek helio-P25 / MT6757 SoC?

Considering not even the premium brands' smartphones featuring sd835 (same as Pixel2) like the Nokia 8 by HMB will get project treble alongside the Oreo upgrade,
NO project treble will come for smartphones featuring chipsets released before project treble itself has been announced, as far as project treble must be supported by all of the chips (and drivers) suppliers.
Please, please... Video.
Could you please make a review video on vernee Active, I wish to find out more about how the phone works. Is it good? You can post it on youtube, I search every day and still no real review.
Thanks.
Vernee Active Firmware?
Vernee Active Firmware?
Hi there, i have a Vernee Active that is stuck in a bootloop I can't get into is at all, I can get into fastboot, and windows & flashtool see my phone , but I can't not find any firmware info at all? Is this the only vernee phone without firmware online? Can someone extract the first firmware update that we get when we first boot into the is and post it please
I never will buy a Vernee phone
After two Vernee models, Apollo lite and Mars Pro, I said definitely stop to purchasing Vernee phones because: 1)zero major updates, 2) hardware quality not on level of the bests, 3) difficulty of resale on used(in excellent conditions obviously).
Vernee bet all on aesthetic and design fo attract clients, but a disappointment is unique result of such purchase after just the first month of usage.
That is my experience with Vernee phones.
Stay away from vernee: Zero support
