Vernee Active Android 8/Oreo and project treble - General Questions and Answers

I just got my Active yesterday and installed the first OTA (ROM 20180108); unfortunately it is still on VOS Version 1.0.0 / Android 7.0 with Kernel 4.4.15, Security Patch back to November.
Still wondering if Vernee is planning to roll out an Oreo upgrade hopefully project-treble enabled to support easier upgrade and ROM porting....
Does anyone know an existing Oreo ROM project-treble enabled for Mediatek helio-P25 / MT6757 SoC?

Considering not even the premium brands' smartphones featuring sd835 (same as Pixel2) like the Nokia 8 by HMB will get project treble alongside the Oreo upgrade,
NO project treble will come for smartphones featuring chipsets released before project treble itself has been announced, as far as project treble must be supported by all of the chips (and drivers) suppliers.

Please, please... Video.
Could you please make a review video on vernee Active, I wish to find out more about how the phone works. Is it good? You can post it on youtube, I search every day and still no real review.
Thanks.

Vernee Active Firmware?
Vernee Active Firmware?
Hi there, i have a Vernee Active that is stuck in a bootloop I can't get into is at all, I can get into fastboot, and windows & flashtool see my phone , but I can't not find any firmware info at all? Is this the only vernee phone without firmware online? Can someone extract the first firmware update that we get when we first boot into the is and post it please

I never will buy a Vernee phone
After two Vernee models, Apollo lite and Mars Pro, I said definitely stop to purchasing Vernee phones because: 1)zero major updates, 2) hardware quality not on level of the bests, 3) difficulty of resale on used(in excellent conditions obviously).
Vernee bet all on aesthetic and design fo attract clients, but a disappointment is unique result of such purchase after just the first month of usage.
That is my experience with Vernee phones.

Stay away from vernee: Zero support

[Completed] Choosing between firmwares

I have Wileyfox Swift and its latest official firmware is Cyanogen OS 13.1.2 (6.0.1) and it's arm64.
This smartphone has clone, which is General Mobile 4G. The hardware is absolutely the same. Not so long time ago it updated to Android 7.0, but this firmware is just arm.
The question is - is it worth it to flash newest Android if my phone has arm64 processor?

Hello,
We would not recommend flashing other device firmware into yours. It may lead to unknown consequences.

Getting into rom development?

Hello everyone, I'd like to ask the following question(s).
Background: I've got experience in programming Java, C#, Python and I've messed around other programming languages before.
I'd like to get into the entire ROM building / compiling / 'cooking' scene but I am clueless as where I could start. I've a Zuk Z2(plus) with an unlocked bootloader and TWRP 3.1.0-3 installed.
Rom: AOSPExtended V4.4
Kernel: DarkMoon Experimental 178
Mod(s): shox_Audio_Mod V1.4
Gapps: Opengapps micro
Root: Magisk V13.2
I've been testing lots of roms recently, and now I am getting interested in (as mentioned above) compiling my own roms and maybe even port a rom myself? I'd start out with testing on my Zuk Z2(plus) since I can recover this device from any kind of software-brick. The main reason I'd like to mess around in this scene is because I've got an older tablet laying around with a MTK SOC, but with android 4.4.4 and I'd like to be able to update this
Tablet I'd like to upgrade (eventually): Cube T9 (currently only supports android 4.4.4)
I'd like to create a ROM based on one of these tablets: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/BOBARRY-10-inch-screen-for-T109-only-a-screen/32801822243.html
It might be completely fake hardware specs, I only hope that the SOC and the android version are correct (Maybe someone can confirm this for me)?
It's the only other tablet I've found running the MT8752 SOC and an android version higher then 4.x.x.
Any idea's tips or places where I could start best? I am open to all suggestions so please comment below

Daily Driver custom ROM?

I need a new phone for my girlfriend and I have a brand new Galaxy S6 in my parent's house, spare phone that was never used.
I don't have the exact model number but its a Claro PR phone and I've had relative good luck with installing custom software on their devices.
I just want Android 10 or 9, 8 if those are unavailable, and that it's easy to use after the installation since it will not be my personal device.
If there's a version with OTA updates that would be fantastic but it's a nice to have not a requirement.

[ONE UI] [2.0] Samsung A8 2018

I welcome everyone, I have a question, namely, should I expect the ONE UI 2 port?
I checked several sources. One stated that the A8 will get official Android 10 in August 2020.
But I could not find any other source to prove this fact. So I assume, it's still a "maybe".
If you hope for a port by developers here it's the same answer. The A8 is a not so common device and therefore we don't have much developers. Most of them already moved to other devices.
A8 one ui 2
TeamExyKings maybe go port android q?
The Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 smartphone already has Android Q, but the processors and other characteristics are completely similar to ours ..
We'll see.
At the end I'm also using this device because of its good camera. That's why I won't flash any custom Rom like Los since the camera driver wasn't published by Samsung which means any custom Rom comes with a lack of photo quality.
Thats why I'm still hoping (at least a bit) for an official update from Samsung.
There won't be an official update and Prashant is working on 2.0 port so wait for it, the A8 you see on Android 10 list is A8S
Should i wait for the port on our device???
Are you in a hurry? I mean 9 is working great so far. And it is still getting security updates.
Since I rooted my A8 a while back I'm stuck on February 2019 security update on Pie. Any updates regarding the 2.0 port mentioned above?
Please Make A Custom Rom For A8+ 2018 Which Is One Ui 2.5 , 2.1 or 2.0 . Please Port Any Rom Out Of These
It's a shame. Even older devices like the J6 received android 10 with one ui 2 from Samsung. But not the A series. Samsung simply don't care about their customers.

did anyone noticed that both Qdroid one UI 2.1 and FusionX one UI 2.5 just vanished from XDA?
Isn't it up?

Lineage OS for Samsung Tab4, 7 inch, T231, 3G

Guys, I am new to this forum. My Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (7 inch) T231 is running on very old Android KitKat version 4.4.2. This is the last official OS update received. Many apps are not supported on this old android.
Please provide a stable Lineage OS version, ROM file link and whole process to install.
I will be ok with installing Lineage OS version 13 and above (i.e. Marshmallow 6 and above), which ever is most stable.
Thank you in advance.

Since you are new, a few words...
People may understand your request different, like one understands "is there some out there who can help me and how can I help..." and others may understand "give me that ROM, you are there to provide me stuff..." So better be slightly "overpolite".
Developers and development teams just share their work on XDA and improve it based on the feedback the users or other developers give them. We can be happy, that XDA is a big development hub and have to be very respectful. :good:
The Tab 4 is a very old device, in my case I just use it as a small power bank. Display resolution, RAM, system speed... however, developing may be suspended and you cannot expect newer custom ROM releases.
I will explain quickly because Galaxy tab 4 7.0 variants don't get support.
8.0 and 10.1 models have SD400 (msm8226) SoC, 7.0 has a Marvell for the wifi variant and an Exynos for 3G and LTE variants. And it's easier to work on qcom-powered devices
I'm gonna go ahead an do what nobody else here would and answer your question. And it indeed works because I did it just last night. Just follow the link below
