SIM Unlock- Help please.

Hello everyone!
I'm writing for help from the experts. I don't know if this had been answered somewhere else but i looked all over the place and i didn't find anything for this phone.
After trying and trying for a few days now, i have not been able to unlock my verizon SGS3 so that i can use it with other sim cards.
I currently have it running on JB 4.1.2 it is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked thanks to the EZ- Unlock technique.
But when i put in a non verizon sim it says "sorry, this SIM is not supported. please....."
Can it be done ?

BTW: i've tryed the "galaxsim", and "Sim unlock" by chainfire as well as all the other similar apps i could find on the playstore but they have not worked for me.

Verizon S3 is sim unlocked for GSM, but not sure about the cdma. You can use it with t-mobile, att etc. There is a thread in android development forum about how to setup s3 as global phone. Try that one if you are using gsm.

Hey !
Thank you so much for responding. I am trying to use it on a gsm network but it wont register, that's why i figured maybe its locked somehow. Also because of the message in the top that says non-verizon sim, it says sorry this sim card is not supported etc..

Ok so i worked on it till very late last night, and was able to do everything in the thread. My phone now shows the network apn in the apn list in the settings and i was able to get rid of the non-verizon sim message that poped up at startup.
But my phone still won't register on any network, I've tried to different sim cards and tried in global settings as well as gsm/utms auto or manual but it wont register onto a network.
What can i do ? Is it locked by Verizon or something ? Should i flash a different rom ?

Have you tried using phoneinfo? Try using the phone info app to select preferred network type by going into device information. Find link below to the app. Try with different network type

If this doesn't work then try with lte sim card.

Hi sir..im not an expert like you as you understand,can you tell me how i found what is my phone..??my phone is US.Cellular 4glte...thats the only logo i can find..is possible to sim unlock??and as i see all asking for unlokcking codes??my phone when it opens nver ask for any code..just say in notification bar thats invalid sim..idk what to do is there someone that can help me to not throw away 4 s4??

i try to contact company in onlince chat but they blocked my ip..i curse em little cause they talking like im from mars..so??nothing yet right??

Your last & only solution if you want to use your phone, it's to root your device.
Because it's your radio which is bad. Your baseband is for only USA and not for Greece or World West Europe (WWE)
You need to root your device and change for an European Baseband.
That's why you need to know what exactly your device:
Go to settings => About =>
Phone identity
(you will see model number, and lot of infos that you will need write somewhere for giving on your next post)
Software information
(remember these infos)
and finally click "More"
You will see your baseband and more infos that you need to give also.
Give me your model number and your device serial number, and I'll give you the good way for searching

I've got a bad news for you because you cannot unlock your sim card.
In fact your phone is only use for US cellular (CDMA) not European (GSM)
Uscc is not a gsm phone the sim card slot is used for thw 4g service the phone itself is cdma
If you use "search all forums" just above and type:

you will find a lot of posts about this subject but with all time same answer: You CANNOT

Sir i want to mention something..yesterday i chated with samsung support and they told me that s4 all modes of galaxy s4 have both feautures of cdma and gsm..the bad is that uscc have locked the gsm..im telling you the truth the s4 from every country that came from can both support cdma and gsm not only 1 but uscc lock the gsm..i will try some things and if i find solution i gonna post it..thanks sir you are very kind and polite..

Yes I realize this is an old thread but I unlocked my R970 from a corporate store only,have yet to try it out cause I'm at work bit we shall see

Did You unlock GSM on Your phone?

I too have an r970 from USCC. I too went to the corp location to have them courier unlock the phone. I have installed "OctOS" rom specific to this device. I have put a t-mobile sim card in the phone and get intermittent "LTE" but cannot make or receive calls. Is there anyone who has any info on this subject?

I need help changing my cdma subscription. I am running cyanogenmod12 and found the option to do it but it wont let me actually change it. It just stays on nv instead of sim. also when i try to add apns it says "apn settings are disabled for this user"
Can anyone help me??

I had it working with the stock firmware but after i flashed cyanogenmod i havent been able to get any service. the apn setting wont let me add any. Just says " apn settings are not available for this user. and when i try to change the cdma subscription from nv to sim it just stays on nv. ive tried reflashing but still same problem

Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 G900P, I bought it from eBay on the United States and right now I'm using it in Dominican Republic (The caribbean).
I unlocked the phone with the SSU, I get SMS and Voice, but not data. I did this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...utorial-how-data-sprint-g900p-s5-gsm-t3025871 and it solve the problem BUT the phone is rooted and FingerPrint Scanner doesn't work.
I mean, why does data works with Custom Roms and not with Stock Roms? Maybe this can be the answer to this thread, but I'm not a developer.
IS THERE A WAY I can have Data Connection with a Stock Rom installed?

Orange Dominicana @csmasn

So, after a few reading, Orange Dominicana is GSM. The Sprint Galaxy S5 is CDMA but with GSM capabilities. Somehow the custom ROM unlocked that capability. The stock rom is locked to CDMA. That's why you don't have data in Stock ROM.

Download from Play, 4g LTE Switcher, the one with the red ball.
Where it says "Select preferred network type"
Select LTE/GSM/CDMA Auto. Or start playing with the other options until you have voice + data.

I downloaded the app but it didn't work (says phone is incompatible with the app). I know Ofange Dominicana is a GSM network but there are plenty of G900P with data working here in Dominican Republic, as plenty of them who doesn't. @csmasn

You will have to learn how to use DFS Tool, but I think post 32 will help you, as you're already unlocked.

When I read that post I think he is talking about a way to unlock the phone (mine is already unlocked with ssu), my phone is in the right network, I can call and sms.

Enable DATA GSM on Sprint G900P S5 Lollipop 5.0
Hello I just want lo let you know this is what I did to enable DATA on my sprint S5 n900p.
It's already unlocked and rooted using "chainfire" root. dont know if this made a difference . Im on stock rom
1. Dial *#0011# and in the service menu do the following.
2. Click "Menu" then "Key input" then input "Q" then press "Ok". make sure you capitalize the q
3. Click "Menu" then "Back".
4. Click "Menu" then "Key input" then input 0000 then click "Ok".
Wait for 10-25 seconds and a menu will pop up. Perform the following actions in menu
1: UE Settings & Info
2: Setting
3: Protocol
4: GCF
5: GSM/(E) GPRS/WCDMA GCF ON
6: Press Home Button.
7: Goto Setting> Networks Connection More Networks> Mobile networks> Network mode
8: Select GSM/UMTS
9: Select Automatic then restart the phone
NOTE: Do not change anything Else

Lte not working

Hi I have a samsung galaxy s6(sm-G920F) on 5.1.1 non rooted, the problem i am facing is that the lte stopped working without any reason, i didnt drop it neither i updated anything it just stopped working now i only see the E sign on the network bar, i couldn't find any answer for this so any help is appreciated

Why did you create 2 threads for the same issue?
Anyways, what data network mode did you select? It should be LTE/WCDMA/GSM Auto connect.

I cant even connect to a 3g

Hey there.i m sure these senior members will help u out on this one.i had a similar problem after updating to os 5.1.1 and using it for some time on my s6 the 4g LTE icon suddenly disappeared and never came back.I tried using 3g i could not even get the 3g icon.All i could get was the E or Edge icon when turned on the mobile data.I made sure there's nothing wrong with my network.Both of my sims are working fine with 4g and 3g on another handset.I hv been using it at the same place.Tried to search this issue on internet but with no luck.I hope u ppl.help me and this guy out.I hv tried different settings.All of my settings are same as in my other handset.No issue with the settings or the firmware.I m totally blank now what to do.Kindly help me on this one.Could not find a better place to put my question.Any technical help would be really appreciated.

Maybe you can flash your old radio from previous rom where LTE works? Did you try flashing roms before it happened?

I tried flashing the same rom 5.1.1 but no luck :/
Ite was working on the same rom as i didnt updated or did anything
Suddenly it disappeared :/
The same problem mentioned above by john_sparrow
As i cant downgrade from 5.1.1
