Hi, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 G900P, I bought it from eBay on the United States and right now I'm using it in Dominican Republic (The caribbean).
I unlocked the phone with the SSU, I get SMS and Voice, but not data. I did this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...utorial-how-data-sprint-g900p-s5-gsm-t3025871 and it solve the problem BUT the phone is rooted and FingerPrint Scanner doesn't work.
I mean, why does data works with Custom Roms and not with Stock Roms? Maybe this can be the answer to this thread, but I'm not a developer.
IS THERE A WAY I can have Data Connection with a Stock Rom installed?
[MOD EDIT]
Thanks to all the people who work so hard to bring solution to us, people like SSU creator and all this tutorials on this page, we feel very thankful.

Have a great day!
Did you changed the APNs to your current carrier?

Yes. I have the correct APN and I'm sure I got DATA activated on my plan. @csmasn

Which one is your carrier?

Orange Dominicana @csmasn
So, after a few reading, Orange Dominicana is GSM. The Sprint Galaxy S5 is CDMA but with GSM capabilities. Somehow the custom ROM unlocked that capability. The stock rom is locked to CDMA. That's why you don't have data in Stock ROM.

Try this one.
Download from Play, 4g LTE Switcher, the one with the red ball.
Where it says "Select preferred network type"
Select LTE/GSM/CDMA Auto. Or start playing with the other options until you have voice + data.
No te aseguro nada.

I downloaded the app but it didn't work (says phone is incompatible with the app). I know Ofange Dominicana is a GSM network but there are plenty of G900P with data working here in Dominican Republic, as plenty of them who doesn't. @csmasn
You will have to learn how to use DFS Tool, but I think post 32 will help you, as you're already unlocked.

@csmasn You think it will fix the problem?.
When I read that post I think he is talking about a way to unlock the phone (mine is already unlocked with ssu), my phone is in the right network, I can call and sms.

Hello everyone!
I'm writing for help from the experts. I don't know if this had been answered somewhere else but i looked all over the place and i didn't find anything for this phone.
After trying and trying for a few days now, i have not been able to unlock my verizon SGS3 so that i can use it with other sim cards.
I currently have it running on JB 4.1.2 it is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked thanks to the EZ- Unlock technique.
But when i put in a non verizon sim it says "sorry, this SIM is not supported. please....."
Can it be done ?
Thanks in advance
BTW: i've tryed the "galaxsim", and "Sim unlock" by chainfire as well as all the other similar apps i could find on the playstore but they have not worked for me.

Verizon S3 is sim unlocked for GSM, but not sure about the cdma. You can use it with t-mobile, att etc. There is a thread in android development forum about how to setup s3 as global phone. Try that one if you are using gsm.
Thanks doesn't hurt....
clarification

Hey !
Thank you so much for responding. I am trying to use it on a gsm network but it wont register, that's why i figured maybe its locked somehow. Also because of the message in the top that says non-verizon sim, it says sorry this sim card is not supported etc..
Where can i find the thread you mentioned?
Thanks again.
Go through the below thread to check how to setup the Verizon GS3 as world GS phone :

Ok so i worked on it till very late last night, and was able to do everything in the thread. My phone now shows the network apn in the apn list in the settings and i was able to get rid of the non-verizon sim message that poped up at startup.
But my phone still won't register on any network, I've tried to different sim cards and tried in global settings as well as gsm/utms auto or manual but it wont register onto a network.
What can i do ? Is it locked by Verizon or something ? Should i flash a different rom ?
Thanks for your invaluable help, i really appreciate it!
Have you tried using phoneinfo? Try using the phone info app to select preferred network type by going into device information. Find link below to the app. Try with different network type

If this doesn't work then try with lte sim card.

Hello,
I'm new to modifying my phone. Here are my specs.
-----
Samsung Galaxy S III
Verizon 4G LTE
Model: SCH-I535
Android 4.1.2
BaseBand Ver: I535VRBMF1
-----
I want to use some other provider besides Verizon.
Thus: Its my understanding, that I need to “unlock” the phone.
I don't know if that process will require “other processe(s)” e.g “Rooting”
etc.
Questions:
Can I unlock the model "SCH-I535 Verizon 4G LTE" phone ?
If so, What and where is the process instructions ?
Thank you very much for your help,
-areal

You can but if you expect the phone to work the same way you will be disappointed.

Will have Internet but it will be 2G that is about as fast as the old dial-up. S3 is already a Global Phone. Should just require sim and ability to change APN. Hardest part is getting APN to stick. If want to root and unlock bootloader use Casual found here.

Get 3G outside the US. HSPA bands blocked in US. EVDO only unless it has changed.

prdog1 is correct, you can only get 2g due to different hardware. Verizon S3 radio using CDMA and others are using GSM/HSPA+ (different frequencies).
Hey everyone. I recently flashed the new CM12 rom to my Galaxy S5 and mostly everything works fine. The only problem I have is I can't make calls and/or send text messages. My carrier is Sprint and my model was formerly SM-G900P however after I flashed CM12 it now says SM-G900F. Whenever I click on mobile plan it says "Sprint has no known provisioning website". I can't even access the APN settings. Can someone please help me fix this, I love CM12 and would rather not go back to stock. I have no problems with my IMEI/MEID number, and under Status in settings my phone number still comes up however for Network it says "Searching for Service" and for Mobile Network Type it says "Unknown", it also says "Disconnected" for Mobile Network state. Is their any way to fix this?
Hi
Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. From what I can see you have the Sprint S5 (CDMA) but it looks as though you've flashed a ROM for the GSM model. GSM and CDMA are totally different mobile technologies so using a GSM ROM on a CDMA device will result in exactly what's happened to you. Where did you find the ROM that you flashed? Can you provide a link please?
Your device forum is here:
Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 5
Make sure you bookmark that page. Make sure you only ever use ROMs/kernels/mods/modems etc from within that specific device forum for your device. There are many different variants of the S5 and you can't mix and match ROMs, this time you probably got lucky but flashing the wrong firmware can very easily brick your device.

This is the wrong thread. Especially if she needs GSM. If she's on Sprint, it would be CDMA/LTE not GSM.
You clearly can't read. She unlocked the phone to use GSM; and now it's not working after the update. So no, CDMA/LTE is not what she needs.
Dereade I think you can't read. You posted in " Sprint Galaxy S 5 Android Development " Sprint a CDMA/LTE carrier. Don't be a ****

Hey guys, so I recently found myself the owner of a Verizon S6 that my dad found on the bus when he was out near Delaware. I thought it would be an awesome addition and that I'd be able to use it on T-Mobile, I've done it before, why not on the S6? Well, for some reason unlike the Verizon S3 and S5 I've used with my T-Mobile Sim, the S6 has been very stubborn. I've tried researching online but have found mixed answers. From what I've read since the posts were kind've old, the S6 could easily be switched to T-Mobile when it was on Lollipop with a simple tweak of the APN settings. Since the marshmallow update was pretty recent, I've tried time and time again with all of T-Mobile's APN's and I simply cannot get it to work. Does anyone have any insight on this? Is it simply because its on 6.0.1?
Some info on what happens:
When I insert the SIM and power on, it simply says "This is not a Verizon Sim" with no service whatsoever and "Emergency Calls Only"
Any changing of the APN has no effect, switching between LTE/CDMA, LTE/GSM/UTMS, and GLOBAL does nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

Are you rooted? If not how am I able to downgrade? Is it the usual ODIN method?
On MM no Root, I just put the Sim card in and added APN. Maybe the phone is blocked reported lost?
