Dear community,
I am looking for a phone which has the following features:
- 5.1" screen max
- Good camera
- Amoled preferred
- (near) vanilla android or a certain array of custom roms to choose from
- available in used condition for under 450 Euros
Which phone would you suggest? Help will be much appreciated! [emoji106]
If you care, here's the background: I love my Nexus 6p very much, but as the days get warmer I have more and more problems to fit the Nexus into my pant pockets. I am a dad of two little kids and am a lot outside on playgrounds, in parks etc. so the size is an issue, but for these reasons I also need a good camera. In the past few days I had the "pleasure" to use the OnePlus X, which turned out to be one of the worst phones I ever used. The low price doesn't compensate for the trouble it brings with itself. So this is no suggestion [emoji6]
We already have a thread for this here:

Please ask your question there. Thanks.

I am considering getting this device, my main concern is the size... Nexus 4/5 has always seemed the optimum size for me, I also have a G2 and that seems the size limit for me to use one-handed and I use my device almost exclusively that way. How is the OPO to use one handed?
I was considering the new Moto X, but the price is a little steeper than I hoped for, and with the news that the next Nexus device will be a 5.9" monster and the new Moto G doesnt have LTE and only 8GB of storage has left me without a lot of choices to replace my old reliable Nexus 4 this year.
Just curious on peoples thoughts on this device now that many of you have used it for a while now. I will be using it on Cricket in the US if that makes any difference.
Hi acejavelin,
Oneplus is a big phone. Don't get me wrong, it's in my opinion beautiful however the proportions are a little more square than my Note 3. This makes it a little less comfortable to hold. Even though it has a smaller screen 5.5 vs 5.7, it's a little squarer (not sure if you know what I mean).
Regarding the size, I can tell you that your brain will probably adapt after a week or so using it. I had the original Note N7000 and it reminds me a lot of that phone (proportion wise) and after a while you don't even notice it.
Other than that I can say that for the price and if you are willing to risk some delay if you ever need its customer support, there is nothing to my knowledge better than it in its price range which would actually be an improvement from the already good Nexus 4.
Another thing to consider is that if you are into more sturdier cases like otterbox, among others you are out of luck with the Oneplus. If you only use the slim silicon ones you will be fine.
Good luck with your choice.
This phone its great. I am not a big guy, but I can still hold this phone one hand compare to my note1. I think its because its not as wide . I can put the phone in my front pocket comfortably. Support its slower. But I own 2oneplus one.they working perfectly.
My note1 and note3 its in my closest now.

Hello,
i plan to get a new phone this year, my Nexus 4's battery is getting more than just bad and my Moto G's screen is broken (and some other reasons, so I won't repair it). This time it should be something really good.
Important things (from 'very important' to 'would be good to have'):
+ Good Battery life. (6hours SOT, about 1 day total)
+ Good Camera
+ Performance (means always smooth, no stuttering)
+ (up to date) CyanogenMod avaible
* not bigger than 5.5"
I was thinking about Nexus 6, but i'm a little bit prejudiced about battery because of my nexus 4 and nexus 5 reports, and 6" is maybe a bit too big, because my N4 is already a bit uncomfortable in pocket while sitting in school.
Price: ≈650€ (700$) max
Thanks,
Xorg

With all the new phones coming out very soon I would recommend taking a look at the Galaxy S6 or Sony Xperia Z4. Both of these devices have excellent top of line performance, great cameras, great battery life, and fall within your budget and desired screen size. Also once these devices are released shortly developers here on XDA will quickly purchase them and you can expect nightly builds of CM12 (The latest version of Cyanogenmod) to start shortly after that. For future reference I would advise asking your questions about device recommendations in the dedicated thread here.
There are 3 threads already established that are devoted to discussions about devices, please read, and if necessary, repost your question in one of these threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.

Hi All
Apologies if this has been done to death, if it has can you please point me in the direction on the correct threads.
Im currently an S4 owner (i hate this phone) my upgrade is due and im looking at the Note 4 or the G4. I was hell bent on the S5 but after yesterday announcement of no SD slot (can live with no battery replacement) no going there.
So here is my thinking and wants for the phones
I have a 17 month old daughter so the camera is the highest possibility. I can see the camera's are fairly well matched and most of my photos will more than likely be low light of the family and the baby
I live in the UK so most of my indoor shots are using in low light (after i get home from work)
I usually use the phone for the basics, emails the odd game or 2 and quite a heavy youtube viewer. But the camera with be a key factor for me.
My question is for people who has possibly used both phones. At the minute im sligthly more pushed in the G4 camp however i could still easily go for the Note 4. So are there any deal breaking options why i should go for the G4 over the Note 4 i mean is the camera that much better on the G4 than the Note 4?
On another note my wife has a Z3 compact and i find the camera very capable on that as well anyone like this phone or is this part of the past now?
I usually use Nova launcher as my default launcher as well (hate touchwiz)
thanks in advance
You will have better luck asking in this dedicate thread on phone suggestions...

Hey guys, I am selling my Note 4. Just got really tired of TouchWiz, yet again. So looking to buy a phone which won't cost be fortune, cheap in other words. So in my budget two phones only come, HTC 10 and OnePlus 3.
Now what I need.
- As close to stock Android as possible. So in that regard which would be better, Sense or Oxygen? Don't care much about ROMs but veteran devs gotta support the phone, for kernel's sake.
- An excellent display. I know none of them have a good display but as good as it goes, I am talking about colour saturation here, the neutral it is, the better. So which one is it? I realise HTC 10 will have more resolution but Anand's chart shows that OP3's display is more neutral (less saturated) than HTC 10. That right? Display is one of the main thing for me.
- Excellent reception and call quality. This is another important thing.
- Camera. HTC 10's is much better isn't it?
If I go for HTC 10 I will have to pay around 30-35% more of OP3's price. Now I know I will get more resolution, top notch audio, great built and probably better camera but with OnePlus 3 there is ther Dash Charging and stuffs, so confused really.
Please help this idiot to find the right one.
Thanks in advance.

Hello, first of all a thousand apologies if it is not the right place to publish it.
I currently have a Google Pixel 2 the little 5-inch, about 6 months ago. It does not present any type of problem or any fault.
What has been bothering me the smartphone after 3 months is the size, it became small, of course the logical thought is because you did not buy the pixel 2 xl? Because at that time I did not have the right budget and I did not feel the need for more screen, in fact it is comfortable this size but it turned out to be somewhat obsolete because it is not the same to play and watch videos on a 5-inch screen than in one of 6 or more.
The battery usually makes me about 4-4: 30 hours of screen when I am all day in 4G, it is not at all a bad autonomy but I usually stay quite short some days.
And the biggest problem, even if it seems somewhat illogical, is the software.
It works spectacular, no problem is locked in that. But it's too simple, too much, it can not be that it does not have more functions, it does not have any extra functions that many other layers have, it's all based on Google assitant.inches.
I look for something that solves these defects:
That has more screen, more autonomy, optical zoom x2 (I need it a lot for the university), a layer of customization with useful functions, if it can be 3.5 mm input and wireless charging.
My budget is maximum 750 dollars.
I was thinking about the Samsung Galaxy s9 plus but I read many comments that the software is not well polished and that there are degradations in terms of the battery.
Then I thought about the iphone xr but I do not know if I'm going to get along with IOS and the fact of having a screen that is not 1080p pulls me quite down and not have optical zoom.
What dou you recommend?
Of course thank you very much to those who respond.
