Hi,
I've been using Sultan ROM with great satisfaction, but recently I have encountered very strange error. My phone was charging and when I picked it up to check emails, I had this error message in notifications: "Back up account: you need to set back up account". I dismissed that message, but then I noticed, that there are no contacts in my Contacts. I went to the Setting and noticed, that there is no Google account set on my device. I have manually restored them and all went back to normal. But 14 days later (today), the same has happened again. All my Google accounts lost with the same error message.
This time, I decided to go to check Settings>Accounts before I dismiss that error message. But I cannot access that setting, it always gets stuck. I can go back to home screen, but repeated attempts to access account settings always end with the same result - stuck screen. By checking Contacts I can see that there are no accounts on my phone again...
Any idea what can be wrong?
Thank you for any advices...

Everything was working good until a few days ago. Now the Gmail app states that is waiting for sync. Your email will appear shortly..
And it never does. Ive tried turning off and back on the auto sync and tried to manually sync but I get an error message that says
Sorry!
The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Does anyone have an idea on how I can get it up and running again? Thanks.
I'm on JF's RC33
Ok, I figured it out. I went into settings and Gmail Storage and cleared out the data. Then I went back into gmail and entered my account information again and it seems to be syncing now. Really weird, I dont know how it just stopped working. Anyway, hope this helps someone in the future.
Gmail
Dont know if you have docs to go. but when i uninstalled docs to go gmail started working again for me. Now i reinstalled docs to go and havent had any problems yet.
Reinstall any apps you've been using to send attachments (eg. Note Everything, Doodleroid etc.), clear out your gmail and gmail storage data, and it should work.
Try to avoid sending multiple attachments at once: for example if you send one and it 'stalls' and you try to send it again, it could do this to your gmail.
I also had this issue. I resolved this issue by turning sync back on. Once I enabled sync, I was able to get right into my gmail account.
Similar problem here
(Using CM 5.0.8 final on my original black G1)
I can manually sync with the server to get email, but syncing seems to happen maybe once a day for the past week or so. It used to happen so frequently that i'd see email on my phone before i'd see it in my web browser if i was at a computer.
Haven't changed anything recently... Tried rebooting the phone of course.
Can't find the tool for clearing out gmail on my phone, so i haven't tried that.
any other theories?
thanks
Edit: Turned off sync everywhere and rebooted. Got stuck in a boot loop.
Used amon ra recovery console to wipe dalvik cache
Boot loop is fixed
Refresh problem seems fixed too.
yay?

My Gmail wasn't syncing properly, so I did "clear data" for gmail and gmail storage. It runs through the Google Account Setup wizard when I start it back up, asks me for my username and password etc, but when I hit "sign in" it simply times out with a connection error. The EVDO icon doesn't illuminate to indicate that the phone is actually attempting to connect to anything.
I'm running MoDaCo's ROM.
What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have any other ideas?
Well i restored a Nandroid backup from before I erased the data. So now I just have a Gmail problem.
I'm getting mail, but it seems nothing I do on my phone is getting back to the server. I can't send messages. Messages I delete stay in my inbox on gmail.com.
Any ideas?
I just hit the same problem. I was trying out the modaco rom and I decided to restore my nandroid backup from before the rom and go back to the "stock" format. Ever since then things I delete/read on the phone do not get updated in gmail. I also can't send from the phone, no error message, just sticks on "Sending...".
Let me know if you have come up with a solution for this.
I spoke too soon! I went in and cleared the cache on gmail this did not fix it. I then rebooted the phone and all is well again (at least for now). Maybe I just had not rebooted once I did the restore?
I fixed mine by changing my gmail password on the server. The phone asked me for updated login info and it worked after that.
I actually changed my password on the server, waited for the phone to ask for new login info, then changed it back on the server and gave the phone my old password again.
I have read the other posts on this problem and tried all they suggested - Clearing Gmail Cache and data - I get the messages online in my browser but they never push to my S3. I can open the Gmail app and do a refresh there, and then the new messages come through. But only if I manually refresh. It was working for the first few days I had my S3, but then it stopped working.
DO I have a setting wrong? Sync is on and I get my Yahoo and corporate mail. Seems to be something with Gmail
Thanks in advance guys.

I know I have somewhat the same issue. I find that my Accounts Sync in the Settings gets turned off. I think it started happening after I installed the Go Power Master when I switched to the GO Launcher. I have to go in and switch it back on every morning. Hope this helps!

I have checked that ... First thing I checked ... I am getting my other e-mails and text ... just not Gmail
Go into gmail/settings/your account email/ring+vibrate/days of mail to sync, and be sure none is NOT selected.
Try that

Apps - Google services framework. Clear data and reboot.
gmail push no longer working!
Hello XDA,
I am having this same problem with gmail sync / push. I just flashed my S3 to BoneStock ROM 3.0 with VRBMF1 and now when emails show up on my desktop's browser I get nothing on my phone. I've looked at SETTINGS->ACCOUNTS->GOOGLE and all google services are all set to sync but last sync time on gmail never changes by itself. It will only refresh if I open the gmail app manually on my phone.
Before flashing my phone I would receive email and notifications immediately but now, sadly, it doesn't work like that. I've tried these things without success:
Clear data/cache in Gmail app from App Manager, then reboot phone
Clear data/cache in Google Account Manager from App Manager, then reboot phone
Clear data/cache in Google Services Framework from App Manager, then reboot phone
All of the above and reboot phone
I'm thinking I might reinstall the ROM but without installing the gmail app during the app selection process. Instead installing it from Google Play after getting to the phone's desktop the first time. This will allow me to uninstall it completely and reinstall it if I am still having problems but I really don't want to have to reflash the ROM if I can help it.
I looked through the gmail app, there isn't too much available in terms of sync'ing options. Nor items that might help me debug this issue. I'm really out of ideas on this.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-Greg
Nevermind, on my question.
After I did the things I listed I noticed that the play store wouldn't connect. Every time I ran it, it would just say: "no connection" with retry button that wouldn't do anything. I couldn't figure out how to fix this problem, I think it was caused by clearing out Google Account Manager data or Google Services Framework data - reboots didn't do anything.
I just did a fresh install of BoneStock and my gmail push notifications are working correctly now. Hopefully it stays that way...
Open Gmail, press menu soft key, settings, select your email address, make sure sync Gmail is checked and the setting below it says at least 30 days.
Also make sure the top option where it says inbox type is set to default inbox.
Then select inbox sound & vibrate and make sure you have a sound is set and also check the box beside where it says notify for every message.
You should now be golden.
*This was posted for the others who still have this issue *
I'm glad you got it working though.

Hi all
It all started last night when I added a second Twitter account to my official Twitter app. The dreaded android.process.acore appeared every second.
I've tried all the fixes - clearing the contact storage, removing my Google Account, deleting all my contacts from google.com/contacts, clearing the cache from recovery, restoring contact storage/Twitter from a Titanuim backup...
The only thing that gets rid of the message is disabling contact storage altogether. That, obviously, isn't a long term solution. The instant it's re-enabled I get the android.process.acore error messages again.
Does anyone have any other ideas? I'm worried if I take the plunge and factory restore It's still going to be there. I really don't want to do that if possible.
Thanks.
EDIT: Found the problem using Privacy Guard in CM12. I reset all the allowed/denied counters, enabled Contact Storage, let it error 3 times, disabled it and went back into Privacy Guard. Google and Telegram had accessed "red contacts" 3 times. Uninstalled Telegram and tried again. Still erroring. Uninstalled Google and all's well. Shame though, I use Google Now a lot. Looking for a fix for that now.
EDIT 2: Writted a post about the whole thing here if anyone wants to read it: http://techspert.info/2015/08/21/solved-android-process-acore-has-stopped-on-cyanogenmod/
Hi folks, had an issue with my camera/torch on my U11. I've had it for about 3 yrs and no troubles. It began crashing with the message "Unable to load the camera" and the torch icon was greyed out. I could see the samera dialog when I pressed the "Clear All" button, but it woul;dn't activate. The tech looked at it and said I could try a factory reset to see if that solves the problem, otherwise they could burn several hours troubleshooting software or replacing the camera, if that was the problem.
I have everything backed up on my Google account, messages, contacts, apps etc, so I tried the factory reset. Had some issues with Google Play crashing initially, once I got past the language change. The app crashed several times before I finally got it to load. Not wanting to restore everything at once, I skipped the step to restore apps from back up and data and went right to the clean phone. Now, when I try and open Google Play Store (or add a Google Account or anything Google), the app crashes just as it gets to the login screen. I've tried re-booting, clearing the cache, disabling the Boost+ as someone suggested in another forum, re-started, checked notifications and permissions but nothing seems to work...time for a new phone or does anyone have any ideas... thanks. Chris

I removed the micro-SD external storage and turned off the WiFi and it connected. Still no camera or torch/flashlight, which is why I went through the whole exercise to begin with. At least I can now log into Google (Play Store, GMail, accounts, etc)....

Thanks bud...while I am capable of going the DIT route, I'm time poor and have already burned a number of hours just getting to the point where I can now at least log in to my Google accounts to re-install apps and such. I will need a camera going forward, but will likely take the easy route that most camera makers prefer and buy a new one...I appreciate you taking your time to reply. Thanks!!
