S7 edge port - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

I was looking through the international thread, they have a few of s7 edge ports. I'm not a developer, hopefully someone can tell me why we haven't gotten this yet.

Possibly because it's up to anyone able to do it, wanting & taking the time to do it.

That's my problem... Time. I have to work 2 jobs, plus my kids.

we just need the patch so all the gsm international roms can work with our cdma radios.

We would we need a sprint MM based kernel right?

So the path still works but with a mm kernel?

That's part of the problem right now, no flashable mm kernel.

That's the easy part, just make a backup of the stock mm kernel in twrp. The hard part is getting sprint calls messages and data to work.

Im on unlocked sprint so after mm kernel release ill be able to flash no problem? Thanks for your help

So, now we have a good mm kernel, thank you @UpInTheAir

I tried a s7 port river rom it said no sim which equals no data . It's a nice rom i like it alot things seems very fluid. I flashed the fix we have but it's not for marshmallow so it will just stay at the the splash screen.

I'll wait for @tdunham mm Moar rom, maybe he'll port the features.

Same here, got roms to boot, for the life of me, can not get data.

S7 edge app is free on playstore it will do til we get it ported .

No people edge

There's people edge also just gotta swipe over. It says free in the playstore but you have to pay 99 cents after 30 min. That was misleading but its only a buck

I'm sorry I'm just new to the phone, and having an extremely busy work schedule this month until July, I was just hoping to have an answer because I'm usually tired when I get home and I would like to cut some corners.
I am on a forum after free to ask and post a question...the whole point is to save time, otherwise I would have obviously googled.

Well by the rules you have to search before posting. So in a way you are breaking the rule. Lol.
Don't flash Canadian tars for your phone. Custom Roms should be fine.

Sorry one more question, I know I have the SM-920F. What's weird about the phone is that the Baseband is AOCZ, but my build number is AOD4 could I flash a different build number?

Sorry i'm just a little confused lol. Knox is apperently not tripped, the phone has a certain baseband and a different build number lol So is the Rom itself Israeli but the baseband European?
Was the baseband flashed to get signal in certain countries? I used Smart Switch to restore it back to stock, and now it seems I can receive updates, before it said that the OS was modified.
Apparently I'm forced to use Smart switch now instead of kies:S

Best roms

Finally upgraded and got back into the note. It's been a while since I rooted and flashed Roms and I was hoping for a ton of work in this section. I took the upgrade now I'm with MM 6.0.1 and I'm looking for best Roms to use. Basically asking for opinions. I'm familiar with Jovy and Sbreem like I said. It's just been a while. I'm into the aosp look and feel.

Darthstalker. Hands down. I have used the Lollipop version and now the Marshmallow version. I've had Android phones since the HTC Hero and Darthstalker ranks among the most stable and feature filled ROMs I've used and doesn't sacrifice speed for the flexibility either.
You won't find AOSP so just use a launcher. Exynos chips make AOSP very difficult to pull off. Anything that has been made tends to be rather unstable.
Now as for my recommendation of Darthstalker, that's my personal opinion. I would spend a day trying various ROMs until you find what suits you. There aren't a lot of options for the Note5.
Just tried CM13 unofficial (page 44 on CM13 fundraiser, note 5 general) it's not quite stable, but it's so close. It still needs allot of dev/troubleshooting love and support.

It's only for the SM-N920T so yes I did. If they don't use TWRP's built in file manager to erase system/lib/omx and lib64/omx after installing the ROM and GAPPS, it won't boot that was clearly stated in the announcement. It booted just fine for me. ResurrectionRemix(also for the n920t) is having issues. Rom boots but gets stuck. Edited because it is less user error, although there's still allot of user error. Like all the people whom are mad because it won't boot on there n920x when the op clearly says it is only got the n920t.

Thanks guy's. I appreciate the feedback. If there wasn't a lot to chose from I was going to go with Jovy anyway. Long time buddy of mine. Just gotta knock off the webs. Hope their is more development in this section for our device.

Ubuntu touch seems better documented, and it has its base that can be added the aosp tree in it and build... Don't know, i am no dev, just asking...
I would love to, but with my new job I also have no time. Also no longer with the S5 (S7 edge now). Has the s5 been unlocked?! I'm thinking these ports would require a kernel, and that's not gonna happen with a locked bootloader.
Definitely would love to see Ubuntu come to our phone. I'm a little busy right now but as soon as I'm done with this kernel I'll have to take a look at the porting guide you posted.
