s-view case scratched screen - Galaxy S6 Accessories

Just a warning, don't use the s-view case without a screen protector. I noticed my 2 month old phones screen has thousands of small scratches where the clear window sits against the screen. the rest of the screen is as new.
Samsung won't replace under the clearview cover policy even though this is related but they have agreed to collect it and send in for warranty inspection. Who knows if they will swap the screen.

I read about this. Someone put it on e Amazon review for the case...put me off completely!

It's put me off now, my 2 year old S4 had 1 small scratch on the screen in 2 years. No protection on the screen apart form a case bumper to stop it laying face down.

Samsung told me the quote was accepted and this was fixed, phone arrived today with a cover letter saying even after phoning me they are unable to reproduce the fault and have returned after updating an updated rom and wiping the bloody thing clean.
On the phone to samsung now.
*edit.
Samsung were as confused as I was due to them reporting the fault and the repair centre phoning for more detail.
So it is off again tomorrow to the repair centre.

2 months in this case, this is an overexposed scan of the phone.

You can see it's only the top half that has the s-view window with the damage.

So it goes along the lines of.
The repair centre now want proof of purchase AND the s-view case to log it as a possible repair.
Due to Samsung telling me the repair was complete and all they needed was proof of purchase for the phone to release it back to me I sent that, it was accepted, I was phoned by the repair centre and asked what the fault was so they could proceed.
During that time Amazon raised a return and I have sent the case back as I now have no need for it.
Now the repair centre want the s-view case + proof of purchase and the phone back.
Samsung backed them up even though they are the morons who told me it had been fixed.
Waiting for a manager call back.
I can see this going to small claims court.

Manager has stepped in after listening to me and overrode everything to get it fixed.
Will not buy another s-view case!

i had the same problems, also the sview cover isn't that well build and the edges break easily. now i just use a tempered glass with an spigen case.

Phones out for delivery today, I rang yesterday to be told it has had a new back glass and screen, they obviously broke the USB port during as they replaced that. The smart arse on the phone told me I must have damaged it then went very quiet when I explained it didn't get flagged when tested last week and I had done nothing more than remove the phone from the packaging and then put it back in.
I have a spigen on the S4 (now the wife's) and have just ordered the slim armour for the s6, I will put a glass protector on if it doesn't come with a screen protector from Samsung as I think the replacement screens have one.
*edit, no protector on the new screen so I left the blue film on and ordered a cheap glass protector to get me going fast.

[VIDEO] Samsung Galaxy S5 - ZAGG invisibleSHIELD Glass Installation

I use to do so many installation videos of invisibleSHIELDs (orignal, HD, dry) back in the day. Then Spigen came along with all their Glas screen protectors. Doesn't take much to see that a glass screen protector is superior in clarity. It's really become a shame to put a product that suffers from known issues like the rainbow effect and orange peel on these flagship devices.
I'm sure ZAGG felt the pressure put on them by manufacturers like Spigen to produce something better. Enter the Glass line.
PRICE
This thing is kind of expensive. $40 bucks basically at Best Buy. From ZAGG it's $5 cheaper. Maybe that's because there is less packaging with the one that ship from ZAGG.
Spigen is pretty expensive as well. Cheaper glass screen protectors are popping up on eBay at lower prices. I think for the most part those will be fine. I've used a few before. Expect less support if they don't work and a higher chance of bubbles. How much higher? I don't know. We'll have to wait for feedback from others.
WARRANTY
Of course there are cons to glass screen protectors. I won't deny that. My wife has cracked a few. Spigen has a replacement program to get you another one at a discount cost:
http://www.spigen.com/need1more
According to the information supplied in this product, ZAGG will keep on sending you replacements if you pay shipping and handling. You will most likely have to return the broken pieces of your protector as well as proof it was damaged.
INSTALLATION
You don't really need a video. However, I did one anyways . The installation process is easier in my opinion than non glass screen protectors. Ultimately you'll just want to make sure everything is dust free and aligned. If you skip towards the end of the video where the screen protector makes contact with the screen, you will see the air bubbles all come out on their own. It's that easy.
FIT AND CONCLUSION
I was really pleased with the fit. This product leaves enough room around the side of the screen for cases which is a huge benefit. Most cases will not pry up the borders and cause the glass to lift. Cheaper Chinese glass screen protectors and this one leave openings and not just cutouts for the speaker and home button. In this case, I applaud that because of the fingerprint scanner. From videos I saw of the Glas, they chose to have a cutout for the home button. They're thin, and I'm sure you can get your fingerprint read. I mean, who would design it that way if you couldn't? I just believe that it would be easier to scan it if the area was left open. Spigen used to give away home button stickers to make the button taller. Can't do that with the S5's scanner.

Here's what we found at Best Buy last night from ZAGG...

Hi thanks for the review really liked it. though, isn't the glass screen for the s5 smooth and hard enough anyways? and also would it be possible for a review on the extreme version i want to see the clarity on that one. since i am a outdoors kind of guy i got a good case with it just need a screen protector that will help avoid the damages and keep it clear for me to see.

InvisibleShield Glass issue...

So I got my Note 4 two days ago and finally got around to having an InvisibleShield Glass screen protector installed since my local VZW store sold them. Keep in mind, my fiance has a Note 4 with the same screen protector, had it for about two months now.
After install, I was left with this...

It's not the typical issue of the glass hanging over the sides of the screen. Where the glass stops adhering is about 1-3mm from the edge of the screen itself before it starts rounding off. The VZW tech said it needs time to "cure" and heat should help, but I've installed these glass protectors before and this is the first one that's had this issue.
Has anyone here encountered this before, any way to fix this? I'd rather not have to make the trip back to the store, I hate that store and it's the closest one.
Have the same one, with the same issue... Best Buy installed it and gave me the same "curing" BS.
Unsatisfactory to say the least.

Take it back, you have a lifetime warranty with zagg of which best buy have an obligation to adhere to and swap it, especially if you paid for the fitting, having them fit it until its perfect is what I would normally recommend, but in this case, you will be wasting your time, I used to work for geek squad UK and fitting these was part and parcel of my job. Needless to say after you've fitted several hundred of these bad boys you get pretty good at it, what that store should have done is recognise the fault and pull the product, its simply not good enough, the only way you will get a glass screen protector for the note 4 is if its naturally curved or has some seriously strong adhesive, the slightest blemish in shape and it'll show.
The curing time they're referring to is the glue setting, Zagg says this takes around 2-3 days but I always recommend a week, this is more apparent with the original and HD versions of invisishield, in the case of the glass one, if it doesnt fit immediately you will always have this issue, as with the halo effect, you could fit it 100 times and it'll never work out.
My advice, take it back and grab a nice matt screen protector. Advise them that they should pull the product you've been misguided and inadvertently missold a product

Has anyone gotten a MIME screen protector?

I had a MIME screen protector for my S4 and was very happy with it and with their customer service. I ordered their S6 screen protector, and I want to return it but I can't even get them to respond to my messages. Has anyone else used them recently? Has the company just gone off the reservation?

I got a new screen protector for my S5 about 2 months ago through there warranty program and there wasn't any issues. Why do you plan or returning it btw? Is there some issue with it? I ask cause I considered purchasing one for my new S6.
I ordered it without reading about all of the issues others have had with glass screen protectors on the S6, and their website doesn't yet have photos of the glass on the S6. I was very disappointed by the glass not covering the whole front of the phone due to the phone's curved edges. I would rather wait for something that can cover the whole front of my phone.
Yeah the haloing effect due to the S6's curved edges were the reason I haven't bought a screen protector yet either. In terms of MIME not respond to you, I got a hold of them by messaging them through there "contact" page on there website if that helps. However it was for my old S5 a couple months ago.
Thanks. Yeah, I've used that Contact page twice, now, and haven't gotten any response.

I got a cheap brand on Amazon and was shocked at how small it was...I had Mime Ghost on my S5 and it was amazing so I sprung for the same kind on my S6.
No bueno.
It's almost as bad as the cheap one, except it cost $20 more.
I'm wondering if a PVC/vinyl/whatever might be better because it's more flexible.
I've also noticed that dust collects between the edge of the screen protector and the bumper case I've got.

yup, just film.
FWIW, I finally tried contacting MIME through email rather than their contact page, and they responded and said that they would gladly allow me to return my glass.

Scratched "Clear Cases"

Hello guys.
Im enjoying my edge plus (except jerky scrolling thanks sammy engineers ). I ordered a "clear case" from a local tech store in turkey last week. It had some scratches and some blemishes (like dust "in the" glass). Then I returned it today and opened a couple more cases and all have same kind of faults.
Then i went to a samsung store, result was the same.
So be careful with these cases. Dont know weather it is a local issue or affecting all the products.
Now Im searching for this kind of cases which wont effect the beauty
According to three local shops here in NL Samsung did a massive recall of the first series Clear View Covers and replaced them with a revised version that apparently solved the scratching.. The version I bought today definitely looks different from the first generation I had on my normal S6
I also wanted a clear case to be able to see the elegant color of my phone and especially the edge yet I got an Arozell case from Amazon [ http://www.amazon.com/dp/B014GGOJUU ]. It's not a cheap material. My phone feels protected. This a tempered glass is all my phone needs. This case is absolutely beautiful. From the package that it came in to the case itself. I have to say that this is definitely the most wonderful case I have seen. It's very classy and elegant. The leather on feels very good and sturdy. Covers the phone in the all the right spots.
Notice: I have another two clear case and both get dark yellowed after 2-3 weeks later, yet Arozell clear case keeps the crystal transparency all the way after 3 month usage, I am really overall happy with this case.

Thats what i've been looking for. Thanks for the images and suggestion. I will get one of these! One last question , can the corners of the phone get scratched because of it, i mean the metal frame it is said to be scratched easily?

Not at all, many people of the same worry yet it really do good job on protection, and there no one reflect this problem on their response....

How are your screens holding up?

Asking owners: how are your screens so far? Tell me everything -- are there many scratches, are they visible when the screen is on? Smudges, dust -- is it too irritating? Thanks!
Anyone?
No issues with mine so far.
No issues here but I'm really careful with it.
Thanks! I think I will take the plunge today.

Picked the phone up at the store today. Samsung bundles Z Flip with it's free original Leather Case.
Had mine for a couple of hours when I tried to open it with one hand by sliding my thumb in from the side and flipping up. This left a dent in the screen protector from my thumb nail that was really visible with the screen off. A day later it was still there, I put on a screen protector that is more durable, that original dent is not visible now. I don't know if it self-healed or is just covered by the new protector. As an added bonus the screen protector is less prone to fingerprints and I am not worked to rub it to clean. I will have to be careful if I need to remove the new screen protector so I don't peel off Samsung's.

The manual clearly states not to flip open the phone that way, you can damage the screen. You also voided the warrenty by puting another screen protector on it.
