Hi gurus,
Updated the OTA patch today from ASUS. worked fine but got discharged while my son was playing with it. charged it and then tried to start it. It just won't boot. Starts vibrating which will not stop. Nothing on the screen. Pressing on Power button for about 10 seconds will stop it for a moment but will start again to vibrate after a short pause.
Tried the manual reset button, same result. Finally, pressed the power and Volume up button for 10 seconds which has atleast made it stop vibrating but is still dead. Tried to restart and same behaviour.
Has anyone seen this on infinity before? Have had it for 9 months and never been a problem.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Maybe a HDMI connection might let you see whats happening if its related to the display not working.
I am having the same problem. it vibrates..stop for 1 sec..then vibrates again and that's all..always black screen!! i think the problem (in my case) is my screen + digitizer coz my computer can recognize it as storage!
Yes my problem is the screen! i bought a micro HDMI to HDMI cable and everything works like a charm! The screen brightness works but no image at all!
Screenshots:http://db.tt/aBg7IXKd
Tried to charge it fully but to no avail.
still keeps just vibrating.
I work with leicesteruk (small world and why is he not using CROMi-X!?) and I think this is hard bricked! Device will not power on other than it vibrates once then on the second vibrate that normally signifies boot loader load it jus continuously vibrates and does nothing else. No screen, nothing.
We have tried various volume held down options and nothing works including reset hole and letting the battery drain. It still charges but just goes into continuously vibrating with no screen.
The only thing it will accept is power down plus volume down stops the vibrating after 20 secs if held down.
I have advised to RMA.
wow, that's extremely hard luck right after an update.
Was your tablet rooted, and were you using OTA root keeper?

No it was completely stock. Just a regular OTA. Note the device died whilst in use after the OTA had been applied the day before.

any solution for hard brick / apx mode only that doesn't involve replacing motherboard ?
Hi! The power button on my phone stopped working so I had a technician check it out and when he gave the phone back I noticed that I can only hear any audio through headset and without the headset I can't hear anything. Power button still didn't work but phone turns on when plugged into the charger. So, I brought it back to the technician and he said there was something near the mic area that wasn't connected properly. He connected it. The sound was back on since it made the LG sound when it booted up. But, now, after the LG logo appears there is an error notice that comes up which says "battery temperature too high. Charging will be stopped for battery health." the battery isn't hot and doesn't need charging but after the error notice the screen just turns black and the phone switches off. I tried hard reset but it didn't change anything. :crying: Before I had it checked out the phone was still working fine, except for the power button. Plus, my battery is quite new and didn't really give me any problem. Help please .. . . . . .

I think there is something wrong with the cables inside the phone. I would recommend that you take it to a know store to figure out what's the exact problem.

I did, the first time I went to have it checked by the LG technician here, the only problem was the power button and when they gave it back to me the battery started to drain faster than usual and there was no audio unless the earphones were connected and during a call the person on the other end can't hear me. After bringing it to another technician, audio was back on but "battery temperature too high" error keeps popping up and won't continue booting up. I think technicians here are merely guessing and making the phone worse each time. Now, I can't even use it. If the board has a short in it, as someone suggested, it would be very expensive having it replaced, specially for a flagship phone that has been abandoned by the manufacturers. :crying: Please help.
It's a long history.
One day, my Moto G stop charging. He charge until 1%, then turn itself on, and when it was on, it wasn't charging. I thought that was a OS/software problem, but nothing was sloving. I send to warranty and there they send me back saying that a piece was oxidated and was my fault, so they can't help me. When the cellphone arrive back, it was charging normaly. I really doesn't understand. But my PC wasn't showing the smartphone when plugged in the USB port. I started to use AirDroid.
I have a little struggle to update to Android 4.4.2 but I did it. The smartphone was really weird, but I let it go. Now I have the most annoying problem. It keep turning off by itself. I don't know if is software/OS, hardware, some app, something I'm doing wrong, but it's driving me crazy.
Please guys, help =[
P.S.: Sorry my bad english.
I had same issue where it turned off on its own and wouldn't charge. I plug cable to wall charger and held power button for 1 minute nothing happened so I kept pressing power button repeatedly until it vibrated and started charging.

So, it's charging normally now, but it keeps turning off itself. Another annoying problems is that it turn itself on when I connect it in the USB port on my PC, but not when I plug on wall charger.
Sorry for the double post, but I'm don't know what to do anymore! Please, someone help me! Any ideas!
Try this
Plug it in
Hold power button for 2-3 mins
Leave it charging for an hour then unplug
Hold power button for 30 seconds it should vibrate and boot

I guess you missing the point: I CAN charge and I CAN turn it on. The problem is that the cellphone keeps turning itself off at random. Random time, in random activites.

Hi are you able to connect the phone to a PC? If so I would transfer important data and then do a factory reset to see if that solves your issue sounds more like a software problem to me.
Already did a Factory Reset (the one in Configuration, the one the Fastboot just normally boot the device) and the problem persist.
So no one can help me? =[

does the phone fades purple then goes crazy then shuts down for a while then turns back on?
It did it when I did something different, trying to turning on or recovery, I don't really remember. I remember that I freaked out, because the screen was black, without changing, than I did a reset (Power + Volume Up) and then it reseted.
You already try charging with wall charger? Maybe your PC don't have enough power to recharge this phone
I was able to charge the phone, Anyway, the device stopped to turning off alone. By itself. I didn't do anything different.
I'm so confused.
Something is shorting out inside, probably due to the said oxidation, which will most likely result in such behavior.
If you know how to do it, just open the phone, take the pcb out and clean it well with a dry contract cleaner and a hard toothbrush to remove any oxidation and possible residue.
Later I was thinking that could be it. So if anything goes wrong, I'll do it or ask to someone with a little more experience to do for me.
Thanks.

Some Moto G's do turn themselves ON when you plug in a charger, I have 2 and both do it - you connect the phone when it is turned OFF and then it turns itself on! Sometimes if I plug in the charger and turn OFF the phone quickly it stays off.
It's a bug / feature / quirk but it's unfortunately normal so you can discount that as being a problem related to your other problem.

I'm having this exact problem too. The phone is less than a month old. Twice this week its happened. Phone was close to fully charged on going to bed, I still checked some emails while it was plugged in.. the charging symbol was also on, so I know it was charging ok when I put it down... then in the morning, wake up, phone is off, but the battery display is showing 100% (The big one shown on screen when it is turned off)
Potentially if I was only using my phone as an alarm, I'd have not woken up. I always use a backup, but now this Moto G worries me!
Seems a few people are having this issue!
I couldnt turn it on . I got 1 or 2 blink led while pressing power for 10 seconds (this only if it is plugged), it doesnt do anything if unplugged. Tried 2 min hold power down, power and volume down, and several other options. Tried several charger, LG, Samsung, RPI2 (5v 2a), pc/notebook usb, and of course the original charger. Left it for charging all night, and several hours during the day. Nothing seems to work, battery still cold afetr so much time charging.
A few minutes ago, i removed the battery and plug it to a charger and it seems it wants to boot, see several blinks but the screen never turns on so the phone, after a few seconds it stop blinking.
What is going on???? Any help would be helpfull

Did you flash or modify something before this happened?
You might have to flash your stock firmware.

Yes I downgraded it from 5.1 to 4.2.2. After downgrading iy worked fine but after sometime it turned off automatically and isn't turning on.
Hi, I faced similar issue today that my Moto e XT 1022 after flashing 5.1 stock firmware worked fine for sometime, then screen gone blank and now I even can't go to fast boot screen......have you got any solution, please share
Recently got a Pixel 2 and it sometimes has this problem:
* Battery icon indicates that it is charging, even when it is not plugged into anything.
* When it's doing this, if I plug it in, it will not charge (but still indicates that it is charging)
* If I notice this and restart the phone, it resumes working normally.
Anyone else experience this?
Any ideas on a fix?
My Pixel 2 will get stuck at 100% after being charged overnight, under the battery settings it states that the battery information is not available. So far a reboot will fix the problem, I haven't allowed the phone to stay in the 100% state for long without a reboot. Today I'm going to leave it at 100% to see if the phone corrects the issue eventually during the day...report pending.
same. i noticed it today for the first time today. plugged it in (not the charger that came with the phone, one used for my s7 with a usb-c cord) 20 minutes later noticed it hadn't charged any even though it said it was charging, and the level had actually went down. power cycled it, now it's charging again.
I just had that same problem on my pixel 2. A single reboot didn't help, but a second reboot fixed it. Weird....
Same issue. Plugged into car, says charging, levels dropping, even after reboot. Tried different cables and charger, no difference. Wife just walked in and said her Nexus 5 is doing the same thing! HEY GOOGLE, what did you send out to cause this?
This happened to me today too, right before I was going to update to 8.1. Phone said it was charging all day, even though it wasn't plugged in. A reboot didn't fix it. Then tried Turn Off, and it rebooted and now seems fine.
Having this right now. A few reboots and even shutting the phone down hasn't helped so far. Will run the phone empty to see what happens.

Happens occasionally to me as well. I often disconnect charger from the power rather than pull the charging cable out of the phone first. I wonder if the relatively slow fall in charging voltage when I remove power from the charger makes the problem more likely.
For those who have this problem:
Are you using original charger and cable?
Are you terminating charging by disconnecting power from the charger first, or pulling the cable out the phone whilst power is still on?
Is the phone screen on when you do it?
Anyway, I find a "hold the power key on the phone down for many seconds until it turns off" reboot fixes it until the next time...
1. I was actually using the portable charger that came with my 6P. The Pixel 2 isn't available in the Netherlands as it came with a UK plug.
2. Both methods had the same behaviour. Normally I pull the plug from the socket first before going unplugging it from the phone.
3. 20% of the time the screen is on and the phone unlocked. Most of the times it's just active display.
The phone eventually died despite being plugged in. I started charging again when I used one of the regular chargers (cord not separable). And not it works normally again with the portable charger.

Was this without rebooting the phone? I.e. you fixed the problem just by temporarily plugging in a 'regular' charger?
The phone was dead so I'd consider it a reboot. I left it on the charger to get a full battery again. The problem was gone as I did a check 45 Mon after plugging it in.
