Hi guys, hope you can help.
I've had a Jiayu F2 for almost one year without any problems. About a month ago I started getting some chinese writing (like a link to some website) in the notification area, but it didn't cause any trouble.
Yesterday it all went down the drain. In the morning adds of all kinds started appearing on the screen. Afterwards I started getting requests for all kinds of apps to get permission to install. Although I declined them all, the apps appeared on my home screen. There were additional icons of playStore, camera, phone (some kind of copies), some cleanmaster or sth., and an arrow shaped like a finger is always on the top right side of the screen.
Not to mention that the phone is extremly slow. After hitting the unlock button it takes 30 seconds or more to show the screen. After a few hours of trying I managed to recover all my data to the computer.
I performed a hard reset and hoped that the bloatware would be gone. Well it wasn't. After the phone booted, all the icons and the arrow was back on my home screen. After I clear the RAM I only have 500mb/2gb left to use although no apps were installed yet and no program is running.
What would fix this issue and clear the phone of this sh*t? Would an update of rom help? I have a F2W 20150402-103930.
Thank you
Is there any anti-malware that would help? Or perhaps deleting anything with root access?
I flashed the same ROM on the phone again and now the phone responds fast again. I've got 1,5gb/2gb available now after clean install of rom.
Which anti malware/anitivrus do you recommend to avoid this in the future?

Since updating to Lollipop I've also experienced a number of issues, including laggy home screen (it's blank for a second or two before the icons start loading, whereas before it was immediate) and huge number of Chrome crashes. Anyone know if there's anything we can do, or should we expect an update from Google?

Hi,
as i was not able to get any info regarding how to solve the issue, i did Factory Reset.
at the moment problem seems to be solved, i have left not installed now only 3-4 apps which I had before when the problem started.
2 hours after the operation finish i got nearly 10 google apps aupdate, chrome was one of them. it doesn't crash any more, keaybord shows up and works.
Also menu button works perfectly, when i press it all the apps show immediately, its doesn't take like 10-15sec for the apps to show up.
I do recomand to perform factory reset.

hi all,
i stupidly decided to root my moto g - i say 'stupidly' bc i clearly didn't have the knowledge to have that much power... it was working fine for several weeks & then it started having issues booting & charging if i accidentally let the battery get too low. that happened a couple times & i was able to get it working again by charging it in different ways (wall, computer) & letting it alone for a day or so. but then the other day i turned it on & i got the 'Unfortunately System UI has stopped working' & gave me the option to click 'I'm feeling lucky.' once pressed the phone would boot up (though it took much longer than usual) & when it finally did, i'd get various messages such as 'exchange services has stopped,' motorola notifications has stopped,' 'System UI has stopped' - basically everything has stopped & they just kept popping up & then the phone would freeze. before the phone would freeze, in between messages, i could still get into my apps & other parts of my phone, but it would always eventually freeze after a few minutes (or less). i tried various troubleshooting techniques (reboot in recovery, factory reset, etc) which eventually led to doing a hard factory reset. unfortunately, i believe at some point before all the problems started i must have deleted some system things i shouldn't have, including the stock launcher (i was using Buzz Launcher) so now it's returned to factory but missing some vital components.
here's the current state of my phone: it will boot up (though it takes much longer than usual) but as soon as it does i get the message 'unfortunately, system UI has stopped,' 'exchange services has stopped,' 'motorola notification has stopped,' & 'System UI has stopped' again. when i click on 'ok' for that last message, i get the flash of a weird red window & then just a black screen that shows the (correct) time, battery level & phone signal in the upper right corner but it's frozen. before it freezes completely, the only thing i can get into/click anyway is the status bar at the top but the window doesn't even drop down. so the phone is basically booted up but useless.
i've done tons of research & looked into using a toolkit or flashing android/moto stock but i'm using a Chromebook & nothing is compatible with it that i've found so far. & i'm not even sure how to get into the phone via a Chromebook, if it's possible.
PLEASE HELP!! i'm getting desperate. can't afford to buy a new phone right now & i really need this thing to work again.
SHORT STORY: Moto G, System UI has stopped, missing some vital stock stuff, phone boots up, no launcher, Chromebook, last system i was using was Lollipop
does anyone have any idea...? also, keep in mind i'm clearly not as knowledgeable about this stuff as most of you or i never would've gotten myself into this situation. so keep your responses as if responding to Android/Moto G for Dummies. ;-P Thanks!!
Flash a custom ROM via custom recovery
Check out CM11/12. I have the boost 3g version with Blisspop (CM12) and it works great.
Also, if you created a backup before you went root you might try restoring it instead of factory reset.
Make a wipe, or reflash the rom
Chromebook
thanks for the replies guys but my issue is trying to do any of the above from a CHROMEBOOK. in order to flash a ROM though, I need to install the Motorola android device driver & I've yet to find one that's compatible with Chromebook - I'm not sure there is one... anyone have any experience in flashing ROM or any other Moto G fixes from a CHROMEBOOK? thanks.
Can u still access your recovery?
So, banking on the kindness of some like-minded strangers.
I'm having issues with a Pixel freezing.
OS: Whatever the latest version of 8.1 is in the UK as of 28/03/18 (can't be sure due to issue but I update ASAP)
Not Rooted
Running a custom launcher (Action Launcher)
When I boot the device, Android runs normally for about 30 secs, and then freezes. It still appears to be running, a couple of notifications show and will display the power menu, but does not respond to touch input. I had the 'show touch' feature in developing settings enabled, and the screen is still receiving touch ok so not a hardware problem as far as screen is concerned. I have booted into safe mode, and same result. Recovery mode operates as normal, but doesn't appear to offer anything of use. Also, as it freezes, a FC notification appears, but will be for different apps. I don't know for it's linked, but only after it froze I got a notification saying storage was full, I thought I had at least 1GB but can't be sure. Also, it happened first as I was attempting to share a photo from GPhotos to a contact in Allo. The other day I tried to take a video twice, and both times the system crashed when I pressed stop at the end of the video. Both times the system worked fine when I restarted.
If anyone can shed some light, or has managed to sort same issue, or can direct to a good thread (couldn't find one that helped) I would be immensely grateful, and will send kudos and good vibes.
James
It's sort of laggy, when I want to tap on an app to open it, for example, it takes a few taps or sometimes just doesn't work at all.
The problem doesn't seem to be only on one area of the screen though, the whole screen has the same problem.
Haven't installed any recent updates or anything, in case that could be a cause of the problem. I've tried restarting the phone a few times and also wiping the screen but it hasn't worked.
I've also tried using the optimise and clean up options in the Phone Manager, but they haven't improved anything...
The screen was working like normal just this morning, but then around late afternoon the problem started.
I haven't installed a custom ROM or any other major modifications like that, by the way. The phone is pretty much the same as it was since I bought it. EMUI v8.0 and Android Oreo.
Try a factory reset?
Hello everyone!
Today I updated my HTC U12 + (128GB) to the Android Pie version (9.0):
First I received an update of approximately 350 MB, which was downloaded and installed without any problem, the cell phone restarted without any problems (I clarify that my cell phone is encrypted and when it restarts, ask for a password to continue with the restart). For now everything is going well.
After a while the main update was downloaded (950 MB approx) and I had it installed as soon as the download was finished.
Again the cell phone restarted, he asked me for the password to decrypt it, but after that, it went completely black, he did not advance anything else for several minutes. Amid the panic, fear and despair, I pressed the power button to restart the cell phone, asked for the password again, and apparently charged the rest of the installation.
When I went to use the Camera application, the option thath appears in the lower right corner to see the last photos taken (like a gallery) is not working well, the application crashes and is not letting me see the photos taken. (Here goes the first problem).
Another problem I have is with the Google Play Store app: It doesn't allow me to download apps from the store, as if it were locked or something like that. (Here goes the second problem).
Now, the main problem is: Like any good engineer, any problem can be solved with a reboot to see if everything loads well, but I already tried and it didn't work. And following the good traditions of the good engineer, it can be said that I do a hard reset (erasing all the settings and content of the cell phone, which I also consider an effective solution, I will not deny it), but currently I am outside the country where I have hired My phone number, and for work I need WhatsApp (and as you know, I need a text message with the code to login), and I have no way to activate Roamming.
Can anyone help this good citizen with any advice, trick, recommendation or magic spell that does not involve formatting the phone and solving these problems?
Thanks!
PD: A friend with the "same" model (64GB) had no issues with the instalation, and we compared the camera version number, and everythings is the same.
Delete camera and gallery data in settings and reboot. If that don't work do a factory reset... Sometimes after an update it is necessary to delete old caches that get stuck

I have already deleted the cache of the applications with problems, but it still does not work properly.
Thanks for your answer and support with this.
(Until I can return to my country, I cannot do the hard reset... sadly)
no issues here since yesterday evening
So far it's great, very smooth, phone (64GB blue on TMO US w/ 128GB SD) is faster & battery life seems to have improved a lot though it's only 1PM here so we will see...
Upgrade went the same way like yours except I waited patiently to come back from the "blackout" after the decryption was done, thanks for the heads-up (though I usually wait a while anyway.)
UI is a tad more responsive - I have a lot running on my phone, I use it heavily for business all day long.
I like the clock's new location in the upper left corner actually more than the previous one - however the new UI design is a too bubbly and too colorful, too 'pop' for my taste, the previous one was far more elegant, I think. I will give it some time, see if I get used to it - if not I will just look up some more subtle theme.
I only had to re-apply my notification sound setting, everything else was kept intact so it's all good.
All in all I'm satisfied so far, very smooth upgrade - it did worth the wait, thank you HTC!
