Not without root. You need Galaxy labs which comes only with the s7 or custom s6 roms.

Ok thanks for your answer
Can't you use a launcher? Surely there has got to be a dodgy launcher in the play store that mimics this awful and annoying iphone feature?

Hi,
I'm the developer of "Cygery Custom NavBar". This app allows you to overlay the navigation bar with launcher icons, shortcuts and widgets. Additionally, navigation and volume control buttons can be added. It's the first and (currently) only app which does this without requiring root. Android 4.1-4.3 is supported, Android 4.4 and later isn't because some internal behavior was changed which makes it impossible to overlay the navigation bar anymore.
Please note: Android 4.4 and later aren't and won't be supported!
This thread is intented for questions, feedback, bug reports, feature requests, etc. Feel free to post!
The app is available on Google Play (incl. a free 7-day trial version). As it's a commercial app I can't link to it directly.
Cheers;
cygery

I got a crash report which seems to be related to the use of Xposed. Please contact me if you are using this app with Xposed and experience any issues.
Can you please post the app in this forum for people who cannot download it from Playstore?? is there anyway to enable it for purchase at Qatar?

I just saw your post (somehow didn't receive a notification mail about it). The app is available in Qatar since some time.

Thank you cygery.. Yeah I had contacted you through email and made the purchase.. WONDERDFULL APP.. Thank you for developing it.
Since this question comes up regularly: Please note that Android 4.4 and later won't be supported. Starting with Android 4.4 it is impossible to overlay the navigation bar anymore. There's no reason to believe that this behavior will ever be changed back.
This app is now available in Brazil.
This app is now available in Chile.

Hi Cigery! And what about using Xposed to do it? Would it be possible then?

I don't know much about Xposed or if it would be helpful. However, I don't think it could change the relevant behavior in Android. Anyway, this app was designed for non-rooted device. I guess there exist alternatives using root which, e.g., hide the system navigation and replace it with a custom bar.
If you know of anyone please let me know ?
hi,
It would be VERY nice to have this on Lollipop! Any chance this will ever work?

This is a real shame. Is it a technical problem?

The "behavior" which allowed user apps to overlay the navigation bar was changed in Android 4.4 such that it isn't possible anymore to do so. I'm not aware of an alternative method.

'All in one gestures' from the Play store, you can do that amongst other things, works really well, brilliant app.
Hi,
Can you guys tell me how to add shortcuts to the lockscreen? I could not find the option anywhere.
Thanks for your help.
As far as I know, the only way is to use xposed. Option not available in standard settings.

Dang. Samsung truely became Apple's ***** on this one. The phone looks the same and now works the same.
I haven't rooted yet and I wanna wait a little bit and see how the Android and Samsung Pay work first before rooting.
Do you know any way to add the flash light on the home screen?
Xposed is the way I have always added that, but I have not tried it yet on the note 5, sorry!
One of my favorite features on stock lollipop was the Samsung live weather lockscreen. It seems this was lost in Marshmallow. Does anyone know how to install it? I would greatly appreciate the help.
I would love to know this as well
Same thing happened to me yesterday after the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update. No more live weather option on the lock screen.
Same here. It seems they've removed it completely. It was my favorite too.
...
I've been looking for a way to get this back or some suitable replacement for this feature and can't find either.
Anyone got any ideas?

Yes, Ive been using it for a while. You need to download the Samsung Good Lock lock screen , It will actually change your UI. . Then enable it, it will give you an option to either use a widget or a stock clock, select either your own weather / time widget or the stock Samsung widget. I use XWidget . then once finished setting your widget before clicking finish, hit the little edit icon to the right of the widget you selected and click the button to "Enable to access the secured lock screen" otherwise it wont update, then click save.

Thank you for this, but I was talking about the Live weather effects that we used to have in our lockscreen. Not a widget

Hello,
This will be short, some time ago I discovered in some video that Samsung phones (some) can install app which allows deeper customization, anyone know it's name? And no I don't mean themes.
