How to add shortcuts to the lockscreen? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note5

Hi,
Can you guys tell me how to add shortcuts to the lockscreen? I could not find the option anywhere.
Thanks for your help.

As far as I know, the only way is to use xposed. Option not available in standard settings.

Dang. Samsung truely became Apple's ***** on this one. The phone looks the same and now works the same.
I haven't rooted yet and I wanna wait a little bit and see how the Android and Samsung Pay work first before rooting.
Do you know any way to add the flash light on the home screen?

Xposed is the way I have always added that, but I have not tried it yet on the note 5, sorry!

[Q] Can Mini Apps be edited/changed?

Hello All,
Just a quick question... can the mini apps at the bottom be changed to use other apps? I called Sammy tech support and they said I'd have to check w/Google since it's built into the ICS OS. I find this odd because I've checked other tabs at Worst (Best) Buy and they didn't have this mini-app tray.
I want to use other apps in its place. I wonder why when you view the mini apps you'll see an "edit" icon, however, when you click on it, everything is greyed out so you cannot edit or switch-out the mini-apps.
Thanks!

I believe this is a TouchWiz feature, and my understanding is that you cannot use other apps. Only the ones provided by Samsung.

Thanks, but then why does it have an EDIT button? Just curious.
Thanks again!

I don't have it in front of me, but I believe that lets you add and remove the existing quick apps. Also, it probably isn't out of the realm of possibility that someone could develop a quick app and it would appear, but I bet there isn't a whole bunch of people building these quick apps.

+1. I think your take on this is as accurate as it can get.
Give Apex launcher a try if you dislike touchwiz. I can't stand touchwiz.

Mini Apps is built into the status bar, not the launcher. it will always be there.
Hate it...i wish i could get rid of the miniapps, sometimes it pressed accidentally and bug my gaming time
If Olny some1 develope mini app for the notes that would be great for ppl who read and like to write quick notes, If Only....
install gmd gesturecontrol to hide the status bar
You wont press any mini apps accidently then. Also when you press edit you double click on a mini app to add/remove it.
You can remove them, they annoyed me so I got rid by following the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1692173
Obviously make a back-up before deleting the suggested files if you feel you may want thm back at some point (not that I did )!

Quick settings pulldown

Hi,
Does anyone know it's possible/feasible to be able to alter the quick settings pulldown? I'm quite used to the way it works in CM, so ideally I'd like to be able to achieve something similar.
I appreciate the N5 is still new for dev's etc, I was just curious if this was realistic.
Thanks

It will happen with custom roms. Have you tried any of the 3rd party toggle apps in Googles play store? I don't know if they've been updated to support KitKat yet, but worth a shot taking a look. Apps like this or this?
Looks like the first link (PowerToggles) has been updated on Nov 3rd so maybe that might help you out

Yeah I figured as much, I wasn't sure if there were any mods to achieve similar floating around (albeit for other devices). Most of the apps on the store rely on a persistent notification in the primary pulldown, wheres I quite like the quick settings pull down which would require some system modification which rules out any play store apps I think.

rooted before I did anything else, just need to wait for the roms etc to catch up
Wait until Xposed Framework becomes compatible with 4.4.

Widget Secure Lockscreen Customization

Hello!
First I'd like to say that I am new to the forums, even though I spent a good amount of time lurking around and reading all of the awesome articles of root customization!
Anyways, I tried to research this on my own before I made a thread to avoid clutter and repeats but I can't seem to find a good answer, so I thought I'd ask!
(If I posted this in the wrong forum, sorry!)
So what I have is an AT&T Note 3 rooted with towelroot (I'm still new at this so I can't say if this is "complete root"...?) running on NOVA Launcher.
I've been trying to customize my lock screen while secure but I can't seem to find a simple app for that.... Now mind you, I've tried WidgetLocker Lockscreen by TeslaCoil Software and I just didn't like any of the options it had... I liked the fact that I could add my "iHeartRadio" and Shazam widget without having to unlock my phone but I didn't like how it also made my phone feel "cluttered" if that makes any sense to anyone. Bottom line is, I didn't like it. (even though I paid the $5 for it... ._." )
So anywhoooo, I was wondering if you guys/gals had any recommendations for me? i've tried googling and came up short... and I've also searched the forums coming up with nothing.... Please let me know!
Sorry again if I may come off as unclear.
Bump
Check out the xposed module SamsungMultipleWidget which will let you put widgets over secured lockscreen.

Thank you! But it seems that that module is currently not working for the Note 3 according to the OP. I'll keep an eye on the thread to see when the module is updated to support the Note 3.

It's working on my Note 3, just try it. Though you need to install Xposed Installer first. In case you miss it, I attach you the apk that I use
Thanks! Hella noob question but with no user interface, how can I customize the widgets I want in my lock screen? I have security to swype and have "multiple widgets" activated. I soft reboot my phone when I installed it.
Thanks for the help!

Quick Unlock - Xposed Module

Has anyone came across a module that offers this?
I'm referring to the possbility of entering your pin and it automatically unlocking without pressing the enter key. Such a small tweak but does seem like a much quicker way of unlocking, i don't know why Google hasn't implemented this at a stock level.
I had Gravitybox installed which offers this option but it seems to be causing problems so had to uninstall it.
Are there any Xperia compatible modules you know of that offers this?
Please share :good:

Xposed Framework is still in beta for android lollipop and thus it'd be buggy and take time to be as stable as it was on dalvik before (4.4.4 and before) . Now it is on ART. The transition means it'd take time to be fully functional.
I think for now you can only wait for it to be stable before you can use the module.
Quite me if you have any further query.

While I know that Sony's different divisions work totally separately, this is even funnier because PS Vitas have "quick unlock." I really like this feature, too, and I wish Google would just make it part of stock. Unfortunately, I do not know of any other ways, apart from Gravity Box, to enable this on our stock firmware.
If you are fine with a different lockscreen check out dodol locker it has the quick unlock feature you want

I have tried other lockers but I like to fullscreen music art too much and the third party lockers don't have this.

Question How can I remove this from home Screen?

Wondering if someone can please help me to remove this circle area. I don't really want that on home screen. I could rather use widget.
It is not possible without root or another launcher.
Home Settings - At A Glance
Google really fakced up this time. Probably said before but they're really lost!

Yes you can, this has been posted and explained here before not too long ago. You need to be rooted and if I'm correct use the xposed framework

Exactly , I was about to post that screenshot to ask lol. Just received 7 pro a hour ago and was setting it up. Thanks bud.
As an alternative, you can just set up another home screen without At A Glance.
Lawnchair or nova your best bet
I used Niagara for a couple of days and paid for the full version this morning. Love the 'empty' screen!
Please tell me how to remove this information from the locked screen? a flashlight also appears instead of the date ((very annoying. There are no lock screen settings in AOSP.

Are you using a Pixel 7?
Your best bet for fixing the flashlight issue is to probably install a Pixel Launcher, stock or modded and customize your At A Glance settings. As for the lock screen weather, not so sure you can turn that one off.

I installed the standard pixel, turned off everything that was possible, the flashlight disappeared, but I can’t remove the date and weather. phone pixel 7 pro
Home Settings >> At a Glance >> See more features >> Disable Weather.
Unfortunately, I am not sure how to remove the date. My apologies there.

It was the same on my 4XL. It's nuts that they put that on the homescreen. Every morning when I turn the phone on, I have to swipe left to get to the homescreen I want to use. I don't want to root, or change the launcher. Back in the day, I was able to choose the homescreen page I wanted.
