Google Play Crashing - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ever since I installed CM 13 (March 26 NIGHTLY Update), and flashed new gapps, Google Play Store, Movies, Books, Keep, News & Weather etc. have all been CONSTANTLY crashing. Whenever I press OK they just come back up again, it stops after I do it a few times however I can't access any of those services. It seems as if my Google accounts can't sync because my Drive app isn't working properly. I've uninstalled Google Play Books and Movies and Keep. I can't open Google Play Store without causing the crashes to happen. Help is much needed and appreciated. Thank you!
Here's my crash report log for when I try to open Google Play Store

I solved by getting the day 25 nightly and an older gapps (March 2nd).

Tinder app force closing continuously

Hi, I'm having issue with tinder force closing every time it opens. Most of the time it says regular FC message but once in a blue moon it will show

or

Also, I've uploaded a logcat zip file with my device info and the log taken from few seconds before app started and few seconds after app force closed.
I was wondering if anyone could help me resolve this issue. Thanks in advance
Not sure exactly what could be the problem, but could you specify which device you're using, and if you're rooted/on a custom ROM?

I'm using Verizon LG G3 with stock based rom rooted.
This is definitely an IAP issue. If you look in the logcat, it crashes here:

It seems like Tinder has some issue starting one of its internal services to handle purchases. I would make sure you have the latest stock Google Play Services and latest Tinder app from the Play Store, and if it still fails try clearing Tinder's data (maybe even Google Play Services data -- apparently that occasionally helps, although it's a bit extreme).

I'm using all the stock up to date tinder and Google play services I tried clearing data for tinder but as soon as I log back in it crashes. Also I cleared data for Google play services but it still force closes.

Are you using any apps that interfere with services/app permissions/IAP? For example, Greenify kills background services, and App Ops can be used to revoke permissions. Might be a long shot, but I'd try uninstalling Tinder (and any apps that interact with Tinder), rebooting, and reinstalling.
Glad it's working for you. Maybe flashing GApps again will fix your date issue.
Getting the same error, what to do?
Far too much Warez talk here. Please keep warez and "patcher" talk off XDA.

I too am having problems installing Google+. I get error message 505. I've even tried side loading and it still won't install
Also having trouble with Google+. Tried working with a Google Play specialist over chat and they couldn't fix it either.
I have no issue with mines
Ran a logcat while trying to install and got a bit more information:

Edit: Well, they got back to me with this disappointing response:
I've reviewed your account and I'm afraid that your device, Lenovo Phab2 Pro, isn’t currently supported for use with the Google Play Store app or with play.google.com.
Sometimes a hardware manufacturer will use the free Android operating system on a device even if the device doesn’t pass Google’s compatibility requirements to have the Google Play Store app installed
In these cases, Google Play may not function correctly or at all on the device. For a complete list of supported devices, go here.
If you have any more questions related to your device, I recommend contacting the manufacturer directly.
If you have any other questions about supported devices, please let me know, and I'd be happy to help.

Well that is bizarre. Lenovo releases a device in the United States that doesn't fully support the Google Play Store?? Hopefully they fix this ASAP.

Best guess is that they just haven't updated their list yet. All the other Lenovo Phabs are on it. After I complained they recommended that I contact G+ support, so I'll try that next.
My phones coming tomorrow. I'll post my experience installing G+ using play store or side loading.
I can't install it either

Just got off the phone with Lenovo "technical" support. They know essentially nothing about this device (she even had to ask me which Android OS it is running). She told me the only thing she could do was help me to factory reset the phone. I asked to be put in contact with a technical team. She told me there was no such team that could be contacted. She told me to post about it on the Lenovo peer to peer forum. She also was pretty rude, cutting me off all the time and telling me that since nobody was posting about it on the Lenovo forum that it must be an isolated incident. I tried to share the technical information, but it was a waste, because she clearly knew nothing. She didn't even really want to know it, because all she wanted to do was reset the phone.
I have a special request: Could everyone here please post individual threads on their forum complaining about this issue? I doubt it will do any good, but who knows. Here's the URL: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Android-based-Tablets-and/bd-p/lt02_en
This technical support call has left me wondering whether my best option is to return the phone. Clearly they haven't put much effort into getting this device working properly, okay that's not professional of them, but it happens. But, then there is no way to reach a technical person to properly report it, instead it's a dead end with a rep not allowing escalation and leaving me with a reset as my only option (which obviously isn't the solution). That's not a good sign for the future. This is a relatively minor problem, but what happens when we run into a bigger one?
Edit: Gave in and actually went ahead with a factory reset just so I could say I tried everything. The very first thing I did after entering my Google account info was go straight to Google Play and try to install Google+. Still did not install, same error.
Edit: This seems relevant: https://plus.google.com/100471105142802886952/posts/CtKmtMJ4j59
Edit: Downloaded the Google+ apk manually (APKDownloader), decoded it with apktool, modified AndroidManifest.xml to remove the duplicate permissions, etc. Got it to install! But, unfortunately, Google is too smart for me:
Code:
11-12 13:41:19.010 5038 5068 E DatabaseUtils: java.lang.SecurityException: Caller isn't signed with recognized keys!
Anybody had any luck yet?

My workaround will be to return the phone to Lowe's this weekend, just keep using my Note4, and wait for the Galaxy S8-Plus with 6.2" screen next spring. I use the Google+ location/map features extensively to see current locations of friends and family.
Use chrome (I don't know about other browsers), navigate to plus.google.com, then set the tab as a desktop shortcut. Looks and works like Google+ and is not linked to chrome.

I'm getting a little bell icon in the top right where I can see the number of alerts. Maybe just me, but I don't look at the crap people post anyway, but I know they're there and how many. Works for me, too bad not for you.
I have read that Google is killing Google+ very soon.

I've been reading that, too, for over a year. I love G+, seems like others do. Seems like it's caught on, big time, but who knows...

Google maps opens and stops immediatly

Hi,
In fact, I am using a i9195 (S4 mini serranoltexx) smartphone with ROM cm-11-20160212-UNOFFICIAL, last unofficial version of CM11, available on this forum. I am also using Open Gapps (pico package 4.4 for ARM).
The issue concerns Google maps : each time I launch the application, after few seconds, i get a message "Maps application has stopped" (not sure of the thanslation, since my phone is in french). I installed aLogCat application to look at the logs, that shows a final error :
"08-29 01:35:14.185 5626 5656 E AndroidRuntime: java.lang.VerifyError: tname=DefaultPool4 - Verifier rejected class alul due to bad method atsu alul.a(android.content.Context, audy) (declaration of 'alul' appears in /data/data/com.google.android.apps.maps/code_cache/secondary-dexes/com.google.android.apps.maps-1.apk.classes2.zip)"
What does it mean ? What is the issue (Google maps is up to date, and so the google applications). Be ingulgent, this is my first message... Aparently, google maps is the only application that crashes.
A detailed log is available here , with a crash generated at 01:35.
Apparently, changing back the runtine environnement to Dalvik (instead of ART) seem to be the solution...

Play Store crashes, Resources$NotFoundException

So Play Store is updating my apps just fine in the background, and for the most part I can use it... but it will randomly barf on me with a message that "Play Store has stopped, press here to relaunch".
I eventually went in to the Developer Tools and sent myself a bug report and found a number of system_app_crash events like these (this is just the latest one, there are six with "play_action_button_text.xml" referenced and two with "play_apps_primary_stateful.xml" referenced, fwiw.)

The XML files in question are files inside com.android.vending (the Play Store APK). What on earth does this mean? Is my storage hooped?
FWIW I'm running the latest version of Android 8.0 for the U11 (December security update) that just came out today, but it was doing this on the November security update as well.
It was doing this with version 8.5 of the Play Store was well as the latest version 8.7.10 from the quoted text above as well.
uncheck & disable PlayStore and PlayService app in boost+ battery optimizion....your problem fixed
boost+ change resulation lower of app in battery optimizion mode and new version of play store have problem with this mode
if problem in downloads disable : Download and downloadmanager app in boost+
That looks like it did it. Thanks a lot, it was driving me crazy. I totally forgot about Boost+ because I never touch it and I generally don't like "battery optimizer" apps (all my other phones have been Nexus devices and I've never installed an "optimizer" on them).
If anything else starts crashing in the future I'll have to give Boost a look right away.

How to install Google services to Huawei MediaPad M6 10.8" without unlocking?

Hi,
I've recently bought a Huawei MediaPad M6 10.8" in the spirit that the Internet is full of guides how to install Google services on them without unlocking the bootloader (I assume the warranty is void then). However, none of them I tried seems to work. I've tried the easiest ones, like
Lznet - https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-google-play-on-huawei/ (still downloadable from APKMirror: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/lzpla...-1-0-release/谷歌服务助手-1-0-android-apk-download/ but network error when trying to use)
also the Chat partner thing (com.tyq.pro https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-30-pro/how-to/gms-installer-100-huawei-mate30-mate30-t4045401 , similar network issue), the manual sucking:
downloading the Google APKs from APKMirror or so, I've downloaded these, I hope they're the right ones:

I'm just not sure what should I do with it to work. Google Play starts up, but when I would like to log in, doesn't do anything. I can try again and send logcat output if it helps.
Does anyone have any other idea? If not, should I send it back (I still can)? Or just risk by unlocking the bootloader, wiping, flashing Gapps like that?
Thanks, antivirtel

To install Google Play on devices where it is missing it's not required that device's Android got rooted or device's bootloader got unlocked. If people say it has to be like this, they're idiots.
The Google Play package consists of at least 4 APKs that install as user-app:
1. Google Account Manager APK
2. Google Services Framework APK
3. Google Play Services APK
4. Google Play Store APK
Knowing this you've to download the 4 APKs matching your phone's Android version and OEM and install them . APKMirror is probably your best bet for trusted Google Play Store APKs.
After you reboot, you’ll find the Play Store and Google Settings shortcuts on your home screen. Tap “Play Store” and you’ll be able to sign in with an existing Google account or create a new Google account.
It may not appear to work normally after you sign in, but just give it some time. The Google Play Store and Google Play Services will automatically update themselves in the background. This may take as much as ten minutes.

Thanks for the reply. I've installed them again, tried, and waited hours for the silent update.

However, it is stuck in the "Sign in" button in Google Play (tried also to sign in in other Google apps, like Gmail and YouTube, similar). If I check logcat, I see the below (Errors only):

"Find my device" is also activated as device administrator, so that supposed to give more permissions.
You might be right about just installing these, and they supposed to work, because the app they removed recently (Lznet) didn't seem to unlock the bootloader or root the device, and people reported it working. So basically we should just copy what it does, and it supposed to work (unfortunately I read some articles where they said just installing the apks to user space is not enough, there are special permissions which only apps installed under /system can be granted to - the people you're referred to as idiots ) . Do you have any other suggestion what to install or set?
I get mine tomorrow, so I've very interested in seeing how this works out for you. If you finally succeed please share...
Hi there. Just un update on my experience.
I received my M6 this afternoon and installed Google Services by following one of the many videos in youtube (try a recent one) and everything seems to be working fine for the moment.
I have Play Store, downloaded some games, all OK syncing progress with Play Games, Streamed some games with X-Cloud and Geforce Now (Stadia doesn't wanna play in the tablet. I'll research this more in the future).
I still have to test video apps like youtube and Netflix. I'll update when I've done it.
But for the moment no headaches at all.
I guess I was lucky.
Edit: In respect to video apps I could only install YouTube and Prime video from the Play store. Netflix and Disney+ I had to side load. Unfortunately only YouTube allows HD play back. The rest, as they depend on hardware DMR Widevine L1 and the tablet only supports L3, only allow SD reproduction.
It's really a shame, but all in all I think I'm gonna keep it. It's a very nice piece of hardware and I only watch videos on the tablet when I go to sleep. And with my eyes closed I really don't appreciate the HD quality.
Got my turbo today from HK. Google etc installed and in English. Excellent device. Very satisfied so far
How did you do that? Was it pre-installed?
Asked the seller to do it and he readily complied. Ebay is your friend (sometimes).

Done, shipped and arrived in NYC in 6 days. Impressive stuff didn't think it was double but took a chance and it worked
How does one go about getting a separate forum for this device? It's really an impressive piece of kit as the English would say and needs broader discussion
Since there isn't a separate forum for the M6, I'll ask here and hope for the best:
Has anyone had any problems with EMUI 10.1 on the M6, and apps or services that have custom permissions?
Specifically, I am trying to connect to ANT+ fitness devices, with a Garmin ANT stick connected via an USB-to-USB-C adapter.
The service is the "ANT Radio Service", installed from the Play Store and it has a permission, "com.dsi.ant.permission.ANTRADIO"
The permission is shown as "Use ANT Hardware" on other devices (Xiaomi A3, Nokia 6.1), but I cannot find it anywhere on my M6.
On my Xiaomi Mipad 4, I was able to grant this permission using ADB.
However the same method does not work on the M6.
Any suggestions or ideas?
got mine off a mate for 180 as he couldn't use Google apps, installed a modded p30 backup and have since updated to new emui etc and all working fine. all Google apps, system account settings everything. no issues at all. Great tablet

Could you share the modified backup file? Or explain how to do it ourselves?
Which youtube video did you use?

Amazingly the download link still works, but when you use Google Service Assistant (谷歌服务助手) and install the APKs, Google Play still never launches.
It's been so long I don't even remember how I got Play Store working on this device, but I had to do a factory reset to get it working again, and now I can't get Google Play installed again.
After doing a factory reset, I disabled automatic updates, didn't install any updates, and tried to install Google Play via:
- apkpure
- Google Service Assistant (谷歌服务助手) from this thread
- HiGoPlay from the Huawei App Store
But in call cases, I can't use Play Store and under System > Users > I can't add a Google Play account.
Any idea how to get Play Services working on the M6 in 2023 after a Factory Reset?

After a Factory Reset and update to Harmony 2.0 (latest release that I think will ever be release for this device) I was able to get Play store working following this procedure with Huagu.
Unfortunately, if you use MicroG to setup your Google Account, it doesn't seem to include enough of Google's services to support Family Link control over the device.

Hello. How did you end up solving the problem? Exactly the same error, been trying to solve it for weeks. Tried a lot of things and nothing helps
I didn't, returned the device & forgot about Huawei
