I missed out on the casemate band, and am tired of waiting for an adapter, so I had a band made. I like my stuff to look MY way. A vendor had made a wallet/phone holder for me out of ostrich and gator, and it held my note 5 and now s7 so i can remove the phone without taking it out of my suit pocket, with room for credit cards, cash and the like. Every place I looked online had either vegan leather or PU leather, which ain't leather. I wanted something unique. Short story long, these guys think outside the box and the attention to detail is fantastic.
They had some ostrich left over from my wallet project. I sent them my short bands which I wasn't using anyway. They were concerned about sewing the ostrich too close to the attachment point for the watch, and I plan to wrap the remainder of the TPU band with a carbon fiber vinyl wrap if I don't like the end, although it will match better the way it is. Since they added the ostrich, they were able to lengthen my shorty band to something I can actually use on my big wrists. They tell me they have some carbon fiber with a kevlar back and that will be my next project, to see how it looks. Vvego.com is the vendor (no affiliation with me), I suspect cost will depend on what you want.
That's pretty cool.
-Veg tanned leather is Leather. It is the type of tanned Leather you can tool and do the fancy engraving on. It is just a different tanning technique. I use it all the time for making stuff. It would generally be to thick for Watch bands though. I am going to make a Band for my Watch eventually.

you are correct about veg tanned leather, but vegan leather/PU leather is the new slick term for plastic that looks like leather.

I'm looking for a couple of inexpensive cases for my Nexus 4, for occasional use only. I generally keep my phone case-free, but have a few situations where I'd like to keep it protected.
First, I'd like a case with a wrist strap. I was thinking some kind of simple, thin TPU case to the rear of the phone with a strap. I travel a lot, and use my phone as my camera and have got very nervous about holding my phone when sightseeing at edges of mountains, cliffs, towers, bridges, etc. and think using a wrist strap like a camera would be helpful. The thinner and less bulky (and cheap) for this case the better.
I'm also thinking that some kind of water-resistant case might be useful too. This one's mainly for use when I visit amusement/theme parks abroad so I don't have to worry about having my phone in my pocket on some water rides. In the past, I've put the phone in a Zip-loc airport security type bag. I've had a quick look online for some options but everything seems quite bulky, other than the Sealabox case, which is much more compact but kind of expensive for very occasional use.
Any suggestions?
I would also be interested in this!

i recently searched and bought a cheap case for n4 so i can tell you my opinion on the matter.
as far as i know there is no thin case with wrist strap. the reason is that if you want a strap the case must hold the phone quite firmly thus the case would be somehow bulky. the thin tpu case you mentioned don't hold the phone so well for a strap. for water resistant case i didn't find anything cheap when i was searching.
If you want a case with a wrist strap hole get the ringke slim. When looking for a case I was looking for thin one and charm hole otherwise I would have went naked on a phone again. You can get one on amazon for $10 or less.
I would also be interested in a waterproof case, I haven't been able to find any.
This is my third time using Noreve leather case for my gadget, but first time for tablet. There's a few option quality case for Nexus 9, and Noreve is one of them. I started to pre-order Noreve leather case for Nexus 9 when it show up on their website, it took 14 business day to made if you want other custom preferences and finish. There's a lot of preference, finish, texture, and leather type that you can choose. Price range are at $79 - $184 based on what preferences and finish that we choose, and the good thing is the price including free shipping all over the world via DHL Express.
Luckily i've got discount code from holiday season, so i made pre-order purchase for Tradition B leather case. There's two type of Noreve leather case for Nexus 9, Tradition & Tradition B, the different is Tradition B had business or credit card slot and document pocket inside, vertical standing on the back, and magnetic closure. You can check the different between two type in their website.
The package has arrived, as i promised i'll do some review, just like usual noreve have a nice packaging, they put the case into big red sleeve and red-black box. Out of the box, the smell of leather is fantastic, after first touch you will know that is genuine high quality leather used by Noreve. Every detail and finish of this case is excellent, you will never notice that the case was handmade.
I order HTC Nexus 9 leather case (Tradition B) with custom preferences (Dark vintage - Couture with Cerise vintage interior lining). I like vintage range from Noreve, the smell and touch of soft leather is good, but it will get dirty by the time you use it. You can check another leather type if you like it.
About the design, the case it self had excellent finish and protect 360 your Nexus 9 from bump or drop, the case provide cutouts for home & volume button, audio port, charging port, and sensor on the bottom of Nexus 9. It is an open book case model with magnetic closure, inside you'll find three business or credit card slot and one document pocket. On the back of the case there's a kick stand if you want to use your tablet on horizontal position. Usually Noreve case come with auto on/off feature when you open the case, but i don't find it for this one.
The case will add a little bulk and weight to your tablet, but it still comfortable to hold by your hands. The cover will protect your screen from drop, and hold your Nexus 9 securely even you put it upside down and shake it. Now I don't mind to put my Nexus 9 on the bag with my other stuff. Overall i'm impressed with this case.
If you want a case with elegant look, premium leather material, excellent handmade finishes, but don't mind to spent investment to protect your tablet, maybe you can consider Noreve. I hope this info can be useful for you. Thanks
This case looks sharp and sounds good. Might have to give it a try.
Thanks for the review and pics! I'm looking to purchase a nice case for mines and i wouldn't have found this case without your review.

Actually im not too keen on this particular case from noreve. Ive had a couple on tablets and theyvce been great "rail" style cases that didnt need a flap. I would suggest, for those who want premium leather, that a case from local russian company g-case is a great alternative. Its also thinner and lighter than the noreve.

I'm guessing you've had a chance to use this case thoroughly for a while now, hows the texture of the case holding up? With those criss-cross patterns I would have thought it might get a bit grubby and dirty after just normal usage? Is that the case with it?
I was thinking to go for one of those PU leather type ones which are plastic but have that leather effect. Can pick one up for cheap on Amazon/ebay
Thanks for posting and your review. Much appreciated.

it feel soft touch when you swap over the case, the pattern won't cause dirty to the case but if you have light color in exception range it will get dirty easily, every range will get different experience when you touch it, you can choose Perpétuelle or Ambition range and dark color if don't want to get dirty. below is mine after a month of use.
So I decided to do a review on a case which I've been using since my HTC One M7 days. It's the Urban Armor Gear case. This is my first ever review so I do apologise if it seems a bit biased but I'll try and make it as honest as possible.
Let's start off with some basic overview of the product itself.
The UAG Rugged Case for the HTC One M9 is a fused composite case that consists of a hard polycarbonate plastic and soft (but rigid to the feel) rubber. I personally love the military design of the back of the case. The rugged feeling is further enchanced by the rubber bolts that are near the edge of the case. The corners have rubber bumpers that absorbs impact from a drop on the corner of the device because let's face it, no device drops face down all the time right? A new addition from the old M7 case is the grips on the side of the case. I did find myself trying to grip my M7 firmly when I took it out of my pocket with the old case that didn't have the grips at the side but with the new M9 case, the added side grips are a godsend. While not everyone is into the solidness and rugged feel, I personally LOVE it.
Picking it up, you can immediately feel how solidly built it is with the plastic and rubber construction. It definitely adds some heft to the device but there's always two sides to a coin. I personally love the added weight because it tells me that I have a quallity product in my hands and I'm not afraid that anything will dent at all should a drop occur. Doing some research, there are other cases out there that have similar features like the Otterbox series of cases. I find that two seperate pieces is way too troublesome for me as assembly and deassembly can be a pain whereas the UAG can easily slip in and out although it's a bit difficult to get it out once it's in there which is good so I know that my M9 won't fly out of the case anytime soon lol.
Everyone knows about that shiny black top on the M9 right? It's the IR Blaster. UAG has actually thought of that and made a cut out at the top of the case for the IR! A nice addition! The only problem that I could find with the case after about one week of use is that the buttons are a bit hard to press straight out of the box. You need a period of "burn-in" for the rubber at the buttons to soften up before it feels normal to press. Another thing is the lack of colour options on the website. It's currently available in Ash (Smoked) and Maverick (Transparent) which is really little compared to when I had the M7 and it had colours like Aero, Outland and so on. I do hope UAG brings those colour options back for the M9.
Other than that, I really have nothing else to say about it. It's a rugged and solidly built case and I really like it a lot. It has both beauty and protection in one. Not many cases have both. If you're in the market for a rugged case and don't like the hassle of a seperate piece case like Otterbox, look no further than UAG.
I hope I wasn't too biased in this first mini review of mine. Do add your opinion in the posts below. I'd love to hear what others think of UAG's recent colour options like ash and maverick as compared to the solid colours.
Looking for a new case myself. Was kind of sold on the tech 21 but I've never had uag before and might invest..

If you're into the rugged protection type, then UAG is for you. But if you're into the slim cases or TPU cases, you might find that UAG cases adds a bit of weight and thickness to the phone.

If I could get away with it then I'd probably go without a case, but weirdly on the flip side to that, out of the cases I have had, I don't mind chunky ones, I'm not a small bloke by any means and have pretty big hands ( note 4 was no problem) having said that, I've just ordered the verge versus in titanium, that's a two parter, next pay day which is a few days I'm going to get a few of them, uag, spigen hybrid and if I can find a tough case with the dot style then I'll be more than happy with that. I'd prefer not lose a feature.

Maybe you could take a look at the Speck cases as well. I used to have the candyshell on my old old iPhone 3G S. Was a pretty good case with dual protection as well. I was choosing between the UAG and Candyshell as well. I'm planning on getting the Candyshell Grip for my next case.

Still waiting on the verge to be delivered, I'm a massive fan of Tech 21 as they've actually revolutionized the technology, also they can accommodate a phone with minimal footprint.
I've never heard of speck but i'll have a nose and see what they have to offer.
Strictly speaking i would love to have the hunter f for my phone but i doubt they'll make one, best looking cases period.

I think the UAG stands out for me is because it eliminates the curved back of the phone. When you slip the phone into the case, it becomes a block so it won't wobble around when I put it on the table. But yeah, I'd say Speck and UAG are in the same category. But do come back with your views on the verge tho.

Will do, should be here tomorrow.
Dude.... that's not related to the thread at all. Make a new one with your question.
If the case came in other colours like Black or Orange, I'd be all over it. I'm not a fan of the transparent cases. This does seem like a well built, nice looking case though.
nice looking case
Can somebody recommend a good leather holster with a belt clip for my Galaxy Note 4 that also fits it with the Spigen Tough Armor on it?

Perhaps make one yourself?
You could always make one yourself if you're willing to learn the craft. It's really not as difficult as people think it is. The good part is you'll always have the means to do it for any other kind of project you're interested in... even your next phone. Of course, it'll initially be expensive depending on how many tools you buy, the dye, and the leather, but all worth it in the long run in my opinion. Plus it's fun! This is one I made for my Note 4. The N4 has a Samsung Cover on it and the leather case was wet-formed. Might be more than you had in mind but just thought I'd throw it out there.
You might try PDAir also... they have some ready made leather cases for the Note 3 (might fit the N4). I believe they carry a version that will fit even if you have some kind of minimal protective case on your phone. You might want to email them and inquire about it.
http://www.pdair.com/index.php/leat...ical-pouch-type-belt-clip-included-black.html
I actually did consider that as I have some salvaged leather from a old couch that I carved up for my little sister in case she needs it for her art projects. The ones I found online weren't of good quality and some of them even fell apart after days of usage.
I know what you mean about those cases falling apart. I've had them before for my ipods and such. One of the main reasons I got into doing my own leather.
Unfortunately, you can't use "couch" leather to make a wet-formed case for your phone. Couch leather is too soft and is the wrong type of leather for wet-forming... lacks structure. I imagine you could build some kind of case with that leather though, but you'll have to get creative and also build in some kind of backing to stabilize the belt clip. Online cases normally insert dense cardboard sandwiched in-between their leather to strengthen the clip area. Good luck in whatever route you choose.
Here's a helpful guy to learn much about leather working. He demonstrates a few projects, and also has other informative videos about tools, finishing, types of leather etc. Be sure to check him out if you want to get serious about doing small leather projects. You'll certainly realize it doesn't take much.
Watching this one will give you a very good idea about what needs to be done to achieve wet-forming cases... He doesn't use belt clips but rather belt loops. Still good info.

Here's a quick sleeve type case for his iphone... no belt clip though, but also good info.

Hi all,
I've been browsing through Amazon for a decent leather folio case, but I couldn't find any decent option. All of them either have too big of a fingerprint cutout, too thick, use terrible PU leather, have borderline useless niche 'features' such as excessive card pockets (come on people, a phone case doesn't need to carry 5 credit cards AND spare cash), or kickstands, or all of the above. I'm looking for a neat, simplistic option without any frills. Now I know that Google does have some OEM cases on the Google Store, but I already tried that and I need more options to choose, namely leather color and the likes. My budget is around $70, maybe $80, but definitely lower than $90.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: Wraps such as those offered by Toast are out of the question. I accidentally dented part of the frame above the power button, so I want something to hide that.

Pouch is wicked, I'd love it with the dbrand skin. I'd rather have the phone naked and the pouch during travel but that makes the pouch a silly buy. Taking out the phone ads only to dropping risk.
Case from Noreve looks amazing. I'd order it but the phone is already huge, I'd be walking around with a brick. Not sure if I should just go for the skin or safe out and get the case.

Thanks for the reply. The pouches actually look wicked nice, but I was looking for an actual case.
I've actually looked at Noreve, but their fingerprint cutout is unnecessarily big. Otherwise, beautiful cases indeed. But the fingerprint thing is sort of a deal breaker for me.
I've actually had a dbrand for a while, and then I dropped my phone and made a small dent in the frame above the power button, so I need a case to cover that up. That, and dbrand skins aren't leather either. I've looked at the full coverage Toasted leather that was just released a day ago, but again, the power button issue means I really need a case. At least something better (read fancier) than my Verus right now.
