Can somebody recommend a good leather holster with a belt clip for my Galaxy Note 4 that also fits it with the Spigen Tough Armor on it?

Perhaps make one yourself?
You could always make one yourself if you're willing to learn the craft. It's really not as difficult as people think it is. The good part is you'll always have the means to do it for any other kind of project you're interested in... even your next phone. Of course, it'll initially be expensive depending on how many tools you buy, the dye, and the leather, but all worth it in the long run in my opinion. Plus it's fun! This is one I made for my Note 4. The N4 has a Samsung Cover on it and the leather case was wet-formed. Might be more than you had in mind but just thought I'd throw it out there.
You might try PDAir also... they have some ready made leather cases for the Note 3 (might fit the N4). I believe they carry a version that will fit even if you have some kind of minimal protective case on your phone. You might want to email them and inquire about it.

I actually did consider that as I have some salvaged leather from a old couch that I carved up for my little sister in case she needs it for her art projects. The ones I found online weren't of good quality and some of them even fell apart after days of usage.
I know what you mean about those cases falling apart. I've had them before for my ipods and such. One of the main reasons I got into doing my own leather.
Unfortunately, you can't use "couch" leather to make a wet-formed case for your phone. Couch leather is too soft and is the wrong type of leather for wet-forming... lacks structure. I imagine you could build some kind of case with that leather though, but you'll have to get creative and also build in some kind of backing to stabilize the belt clip. Online cases normally insert dense cardboard sandwiched in-between their leather to strengthen the clip area. Good luck in whatever route you choose.
Here's a helpful guy to learn much about leather working. He demonstrates a few projects, and also has other informative videos about tools, finishing, types of leather etc. Be sure to check him out if you want to get serious about doing small leather projects. You'll certainly realize it doesn't take much.
Watching this one will give you a very good idea about what needs to be done to achieve wet-forming cases... He doesn't use belt clips but rather belt loops. Still good info.

Here's a quick sleeve type case for his iphone... no belt clip though, but also good info.

I'm about to purchase an HTC Desire, and I'm shopping for a good case/holster so I'm ready to go once I get the new phone (just waiting on the contract to expire)...
I work in a manufacturing plant, and I'm pretty rough on phones. I typically carry them horizontally on my belt, and I'm looking for something similar. However, I want something that will protect as much as possible as it get bumped on equipment, conveyor, etc. Screen-in is a must, obviously. I'd really like something that protects the phone all the time, and then some sort of holster that holds the phone with the protection.
The best thing I've found is a Innocase Rugged Combo, but it's only available for the Nexus One, and won't fit the desire...
Something similar I've found is a snap-on hard case combo but I haven't found any reviews. It's a hard cover and a clip-type holster together from Techie Warehouse (mfg unknown).
Then there are clip-type holsters like the Amzer Rubberized holster.
Or leather holsters like the MobiMan Premium.
Then, I've always got the option to make something. My best friend makes leather and kydex holsters, so I'm tempted to make my own holster like the leather or clip one. I would just keep the phone in armor like the Case-Mate Barely There, Case-Mate Tough, or PDair Aluminum Case within the holster I make.
What do you guys think? Any experience with any of these, especially the Techie hard combo case? Thanks,
Danny
Have you had a peek at the OtterBox line of cases? They are pretty tough, especially the Defender. The Desire cases are at http://www.otterbox.com/desire-cases/desire-cases,default,sc.html. Only the Defender has a belt clip, and it's made to fit the case. Someone else on XDA had one, and they dropped their Desire down a set of stairs, and it hit a wall and then the ground, and the case was undamaged, and so was the phone.
Just quickly, and off topic, but welcome to xda-developers, shorin!
Yes, I looked at the Otterbox cases. They look very nice, but they just don't quite meet my needs.
The Defender does have a belt clip, but it places the screen out. I'd break the screen in a day with that...
I have considered the Commuter if I make my own holster.
Thanks for the welcome. I've been on here quite a while. Just never needed to post until now...
Thanks,
Danny
It looks like the Otterbox Defender may be the ticket. I did some looking again, and I didn't see any reason the phone wouldn't fit with the screen in.
I found a review on YouTube that confirms this and I also asked the question via the Q&A on the Otterbox website and they confirmed that the holster will work screen-in.
Problem solved...
Danny
No problem!

Just a lily note. I personally use the otterbox defender. It fits the holder screen in or out. And my opinion the best protection money can buy.

Here I am, in total confusion. Should I buy a pouch or case?
Here's what I feel, think and want:
I like a pouch, because the phone inside is pure. I can take it out and I'll be holding the phone in its slimmest form (read: original form). On the other hand, I have used pouches before with my LG Optimus 2X and the cover got these marks where it always slid over the pouch (basicly, cover was screwed).
That said, it's pretty clear. I like to hold the S5 like I got it from the box. On the other hand I would like it to have some protection.
I feel that a flip case (from Samsung) might suit me the best, because it's pretty thin and covers the screen as well.
But, somehow I think that this flip case might be a bit unhandy sometimes (taking pictures, holding it to type, sturdy?).
What I'm asking: does anyone have experience with large smartphones and pouches?
Here's some links:
S5 Flip wallet
Krusell Pouch 1
Krusell Pouch 2
(also, if you know some other pouches - perhaps tailored for the S5 - do tell!)
I am looking for a pouch as well..using the one for I got for the S3 but for obvious reasons, it doesnt close the top portion unless if i force the velcro to reach, lol.
I'm also looking for a pouch for my S5. I've purchased a couple off of ebay. They are always too big. Has anyone found one that they could recommend that fits a naked S5? Not one that can also fit a Note. This is a big phone already and I don't want to have an even bigger pouch on my belt.
I'm not in the practice to carry a purse around. I carry a pouch on my belt. I use it to carry my phone, nothing else. I have a wallet in my back pocket for cards and such. I like the look and feel of the phone itself. I don't want to cover my well designed phone with a cheap case or even and expensive one. I'm looking for a pouch that fits the s5 cleanly and naked. All I've seen so far are ones that fit it with a case on it or they are universal and big enough to also fit a note. The note is a class bigger than I need.

I don't know exactly what you are looking for but I just received this pouch and my naked S5 fits in it perfectly with no room to spare. You may have tried one like this already. Once clipped onto your belt the case can be rotated 360 degrees through eight different, fairly firm positions 45 degrees apart. If you don't want the rotation capability you could easily glue it in the position you want. The flap is held in place magnetically.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/191366031321
Those are the specs I am looking for. But I'm also wanting a horizontal pouch. I also need a very good clip. I usually get one that has the the extra belt loops on each side of the clip. I work on a ladder all the time and usually have other things on my belt also. I've had lesser clips work their way off while up there and phones don't do well from a drop that far up.
Hi folks,
Just wanted to share my experience with this new case that I got last week, it's called Crusta, made by Amzer, I have used Amzer products in the past, but this case is something very different from their regular stuff I have used in the past.
Since, I have replaced 2 screens on my S5 in last 4 months, I really wanted to get something which protects the device, don't want to spend more money on repairs, initially thought of going ahead with OtterBox but I saw an ad on Facebook for Crusta. Having used Amzer in past, I ordered it (even got 25% off part of their promotion!)
Really loving the case, it is a bit on the bulky side, but not as much as an otter box, it is right mix of protection and style, they claim it is 6 feet drop proof, it did fall out of my pocket 2-3 times and no visible damage. The thing i really like about this case is that it came with a very nice and tough glass screen protector and a belt clip. Really neat bundle. The back of the case is very nice and stylish with clear backing. Only wished this case was waterproof, but for $45 its a great buy, I got yellow and black combo, but really good color options, lots of them.
If you are looking to get an otterbox, i would suggest you give this a try and save some money!
Have a look here - www.amzer.com/crusta
I will be posting pictures after I manage to get some decent pictures from my second phone

I've been looking for a case/holster combination and just came across this one. I had previously ordered the Seidio Dilex and was not happy with it mainly because it is so slick. The Seidio adds quite a bit of bulk also but I think I'd be ok with that if it just wasn't so slippery. Can you tell me a little about the holster? I need something that holds the phone safely. I prefer holsters that rachet and need a little force to spin around. What do you think about this one?
How'd you get 25% off? I'm interested in possibly ordering one.

So I also have the Seidio Dilex and I ordered a Crusta just to see what the differences were. Here's what I noticed aside from what the OP stated:
-The belt clip, where it attaches to the belt, has a lot tension so it grabs tightly
-It is a U-Clip on the clip, but instead of a solid piece it is two "teeth" that wrap underneath the belt
-Phone case seems to fit loosely when the screen is facing out/clips in very tightly with screen facing inward (I prefer screen facing in)**
-The rotating clip looks like a gear assembly. When you turn it, it settles into the grooves and won't spin so it is omni-directional
-Online photos looks like the camera would be touching if laid on its back. The outer edge of the case keeps it from touching so no worries there
-Heart rate sensor is easily accessed and works well. Fingerprint scanner will work, but you will have to be accurate since the rubber has no give
-The Amzer is thicker overall than the Seidio Dilex and probably the exact same width as the Seidio would be if the kickstand went all the way up
**Might just be my case, OP would have to chime in
My overall so far is that I like it, but I want to test out the belt holster more before I wholeheartedly recommend it. The case is good and I love the tempered glass screen protector that came with it. The rubber is not slick at all and has a fake stitching look around the front face for aesthetics I suppose? Also, with this case on it barely fits in my Nathan's runners belt. Granted it is the smallest runner's belt, but with the grippy case rubber around it I won't be able to easily take it in and out to change songs or answer calls after I get it in there.
I'd like to post some pictures, but I need some suggestions of the best place to upload them for posting here? I just wondered what others would use and if you would like any specific pictures I am happy to oblige. I'll do a breakdown and couple of size comparison shots with the Dilex.
Edit: I personally won't be using the fingerprint scanner because as I found out, it you register a fingerprint while the case is on you should be able to unlock it. If you register it with the case off and put the case on, it most likely won't accept the scan. My experience was scanning in a fingerprint with the case on and took the case off to take pictures and it wouldn't take my fingerprint at that depth. If you are never going to take the case off this may work for you. However if you have pre-registered fingerprints and you put the case on you may lock yourself out. Just my experience.

I would suggest this case for sure, though I don't buckle the phone to my waist much, but the holster is really nice and high quality, the clip for rotation is also very smooth but at the same time not 'loose'. The video on their site says to put the phone face in for best results, but even face out is ok, the holster really holds the phone in really well.
My past experience with a seidio case for my S4 wasn't that great either, they tear up after some time and the support team is really not upto the mark. This case is not exactly thin, but it's a lot less than Otterbox, also this case has very very good grip on the TPR ring they have provided, so it won't be slippery like Seidio for sure.

I ordered during the independence day sale, i think they have back to school sale right now, which i'm going to use to order a case for my friend's iPhone 5s for which they have the crusta now. Try code BACK2SCHOOL - might work.
I will try to post some pictures today.
Regarding the Amzer Crusta!!!!
OMG that case is beautiful. Just looked online. That is absolutely a find. Called then and long to order.
Thank you!

Hi all,
I've been browsing through Amazon for a decent leather folio case, but I couldn't find any decent option. All of them either have too big of a fingerprint cutout, too thick, use terrible PU leather, have borderline useless niche 'features' such as excessive card pockets (come on people, a phone case doesn't need to carry 5 credit cards AND spare cash), or kickstands, or all of the above. I'm looking for a neat, simplistic option without any frills. Now I know that Google does have some OEM cases on the Google Store, but I already tried that and I need more options to choose, namely leather color and the likes. My budget is around $70, maybe $80, but definitely lower than $90.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: Wraps such as those offered by Toast are out of the question. I accidentally dented part of the frame above the power button, so I want something to hide that.

Pouch is wicked, I'd love it with the dbrand skin. I'd rather have the phone naked and the pouch during travel but that makes the pouch a silly buy. Taking out the phone ads only to dropping risk.
Case from Noreve looks amazing. I'd order it but the phone is already huge, I'd be walking around with a brick. Not sure if I should just go for the skin or safe out and get the case.

Thanks for the reply. The pouches actually look wicked nice, but I was looking for an actual case.
I've actually looked at Noreve, but their fingerprint cutout is unnecessarily big. Otherwise, beautiful cases indeed. But the fingerprint thing is sort of a deal breaker for me.
I've actually had a dbrand for a while, and then I dropped my phone and made a small dent in the frame above the power button, so I need a case to cover that up. That, and dbrand skins aren't leather either. I've looked at the full coverage Toasted leather that was just released a day ago, but again, the power button issue means I really need a case. At least something better (read fancier) than my Verus right now.
late to the game...
but, there are the toast genuine leather wraps for the 6p
also, tetded leather case.
check them out.
i've been using the tetded since december.
Hello Everyone,
New Note 4 user here, (yeah sounds strange upgrading from the note 3 finally, but samsungs gone full potato) and like any other purchase, the hunt for cases is on. I have scoured the internet/ebay/threads for possible solutions to my dilemma and haven't found anything, so I figure its a good time to ask. With my N3 I had the Seidio Dilex Extended battery case with the belt clip holster. This was an amazing combo and accounted for 99% of my needs, minus the stupid negative incline when the phone was flat on its back, due to the kickstand bulge.
Anyways, I am having a hell of a hard time finding extended battery cases that have a kickstand, or have the plastic belt clip holsters for that matter. Essentially it looks like its the Zerolemon and thats it for holster combos, or if I want an integrated kickstand, its the mugen, for outrageous pricing.
I had originally hoped that I'd be able to reuse the same case and such from my n3 with some modifications, since these two phones are very close in size. Well that got quickly abandoned, but there was still the possibility of using the seidio case and cover/holster since they appeared to be the same dimensions. Wrong again.
The sides of the case have much steeper angle coming out from the phone on the bottom and top, but could possibly be adjusted depending on how or if I can rework the holster.
and the top
I have found a temporary starting point to try and reclaim some of the utility I had with my N3 with a few random pieces from amazon.
Anker has been out of stock for a while, unless you want to pay scalper prices on ebay, so I figured I'd give Kranich a whirl for the $25 they asked for 6400mah battery and the plastic textured back panel.
Next I picked up a generic tpu honeycomb case (hopefully this is better than the plastic crap I had on my SIII) for $10 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S1581X4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and lastly found a neat little gadget for another $10, a magnetic kickstand with adhesive. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HP15P60/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My plan should it go well, is to try and either cut a loop in the tpu case and secure the kickstand to the plastic backing itself, or to the tpu on the outside if thats not possible. Either way, ill make sure to correct the confusing mistake seidio made by putting the kickstand on the bottom of the phone and having it lay with the bottom of the phone slightly elevated instead of flat.
This should get me back to at least the core level of performance that the seidio case I had before offered, with a little less protection I think.
The last problem however, is the belt holster (or whatever you want to call it). Again, not many options, so I am looking at modifying my existing seidio holster to fit my N4 or possibly getting an otterbox holster and trying to work with that. You know, interestingly enough, I figured Alibaba would be swarming with weird stuff like that, and I really didn't see anything different
If anyone has any bright ideas, I'd love to hear it. Or for that matter any other cool suggestions for gear.
==============================Update #1==========================================
TPU case came in, god this stuff still sucks, and spigen kcikstand as well. After slipping my note 4 into something more sensual, I decided it was time to try out the holster, which I prayed to the case gods would still fit, and i-it d-d-does! Success! It does in deed definitely fit securely in the mount, albeit a it rides a little higher in the clip due to being ever so slightly longer that the note 3 with the seidio case (works for me still).
Far Away shot.
Damnit, point and shoots are picky when shoplights are involved.
Now that the first test was an overwhelming success, I decided it was time to make some cuts and drop the kickstand in, maybe risk some fingers or violate some safety rules. I decided to cut my way through the TPU case (while half listening to a linus tech tips webisode) and attach the kickstand directly to the phone case for more stability and a slightly smoother surface and a little more professional look. Results below:
First was to figure out where to put the case, I noticed that the first set of honeycombs was almost a perfect border for the ends of the kickstand and those served as an excellent guide for my first cuts.
To achieve a straight cut, i used a square razor blade and tapped it down through the tpu into an old notepad. this have a nice clean straight edge, id soon have to murder since it was nowhere near wide enough for accommodate the whole kickstand. A halfway picture would have been nice, but I was eager to finish.
If you do decide to copy this, make sure you cut the material, almost too tight for the kickstand, so it fits snugly, instead of stretching and leaving a gap like mine did. I would have liked to have rounded my edges a little better, but oh well, its not like I bought the phone to look at the back.
In any case(oh god not the puns), I think it worked out pretty well, but I think I'm gonna try and find a few more TPU cases, maybe that are a little spongier since this hardly gives any protection for drops. An added benefit is the lip of the kickstand in this spot serves as a nice rest for your fingers while using the phone.
I own and use the Thor Champagne Gold version of this one for more than 18 months now: https://www.amazon.com/Galaxy-Note-Verus-Charcoal-Black/dp/B00MHBSHYG
and am very happy with it. Have dropped the Note4 while bicycling, and from other stupid high positions on stone, it has saved my Note4 many a time. These verus cases rock!
So try that brand, I bet you they have what you need.
Switched from Hyperion 8000mah with honeycomb tpu, now using Verus Iron Shield with Spigen kickstand add on and purchased 3 extra batteries with external charger for $23 US from Amazon. I have leather holster, but front pocket works just fine.

That looks and sounds amazing, and reminds me of some of the drops my note 3 has taken and survived. This is what I really, really wanted to reproduce with my note 4, because, well it makes sense. Only problem is, I really want an extended battery since charging is much slower than my n3, and I don't want to rely on batteries.
