Report if your MicroSD card works - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Accessories

Just reporting in that the Redmi Note 3 Pro supports the 64GB Samsung Evo+ after it is formatted to FAT32.

Also 128GB Evo as fat32

I formatted my Transcend 64GB as FAT32 but it was not recognized by the phone - it said SD was damaged and offered to format it. So i let it format, it works perfectly.

My Kingston 64 GB card is also working with FAT32 format !

A little off topic, anybody can test if redmi note 2 tool for ext4 mounting works? I guess these feature is connected only to miui and not to hardware. I can't for now because of lack of root on dev Chinese

It's connected to the platform, so no, it won't work with the Pro (Although it should work with the MTK variant).
However my Pro is on the way, and I plan to use my SD Card with ext4 there, so I will probably make a "Redmi Note 3 Pro Tool", or something.

Hey mister Xmister, just asking, are you working on rn tool3? it would be really useful

I'm thinking about it, but the fact that one needs unlocking for root implies that there won't be many users willing to do it for ext4.

Quite many had unlocked already or will. Fat is slow and unpractical and xiaomi didn't learn a thing. App with only ext format and mount would be very helpful. Maybe some support for Xmister xda users?

Check video on youtube, it can easily support 200 GB

Works

My problem at the Redmi Note 3 is that I can not put the SIM and SD collectively in the slot. I do not know whether for my phone there and a different slot.
The phone is Redmi Note 3 3GH, 32GB MTK ..
Does anyone know anything about that?

64gb sd card works flawlessly..confirmed

Integral 128GB UltimaPro MicroSDXC seems to work ok, very fast access, good card for the price:

Only it's displaying size at 116.99 GB, I used the phone to format it, so that could be the issue, I'm waiting on a delivery of a new Transcend Card Reader, so I can't use windows to format it yet, hopefully that will fix it.

Toshiba microSDXC UHS-I 128 Gb 90 MB/s was formatted in NTFS, recognized without problems. NextApp SDFix solve all problems with write/read.

i've done a backup with alka recovery and the recovery corrupted the file system of my sd card

strontium nitro 64gb working, formatted as fat32
doesnt work when formatted as ntfs or exfat

[Q] Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 MicroSD 64GB?

I know the specifications list it as supporting up to a 32GB MicroSD but is it possible to use a 64GB MicroSD card in it?
I am doing it right now, but from what I've read searching on here it has to be formatted in a different device because for whatever reason the tab 2 won't reformat it on it's own, but once you've got the card formatted to fat32 (you need a special app to do it on windows) you should be good to go in the TAB.
Here is a command prompt formatter that worked for me.
1. Unzip the file to the root of C:\
2. Mount your 64GB card on your PC and take note of the allocated drive letter (e.g. e:\)
3. run command prompt on PC (search for cmd.exe)
4. get to c:\ (I think cd c:\ will do this)
5. type fat32format.exe e:\ and press <return>
(where e:\ is the allocated drive letter from step 2, so if it mounts as f:\ you would type fat32format.exe f:\ instead)
This should then format your card as FAT32 which works fine in my Galaxy SII so there's no reason I can think of why it wouldn't work in the Tab 2 too.
This is all at your own risk of course - I won't be responsible if something goes horribly wrong and you kill your card, PC, Tab or anything else...sorry.
Did anybody have any success with this? I am looking at buying the Tab 2 7.0, but I need a 64GB MicroSD.

Yes, I use a 64GB sandisk card formatted fat32 and the tab uses it no problem.
I think I used Easus Partition Master to format it.

Did you not read my post? I pulled the 64GB that I formatted in my SGP 4.0 (didn't you have one of them too?) and stuck it right into my Tab 2 7" and it works FLAWLESSLY.
Stock JB or KK-Boot kernel support exFAT formatted card.

Does anyone know if the need for the sd card to be formatted as fat32 (or, as the case may be, exfat) is also true of the Note 2? I have both devices (plus a Note 10.1, with which I have no problem using the 64gb card right out of the package). The Note 2 and the tab 2 both have issues trying to read a 64gb card. They recognize the card and its max size, but renames copied files and folders or doesn't copy them at all.
Thanks.

Formatted fat32 using , I can't remember now , but it works great.
Will I still get all 64gb of the card when it is formatted fat32? I hear fat32 supports only up to 32gb partitions. I know I will never get the whole 64gb due to file system usage but something like 59 or something gb should be fine

I found it nowhere else.
The HTC ONE SV works also with microSDXC Card. In the specs it says microSDHC cards but I operate mine since I bought it with a 64GB microSDXC card without any problems.
I have to post this here because we still have no dedicated Forum for the HTC One SV
This are good news!
Also thinking about buying a bigger one.

Is there a way to increase the 1.1GB space for the application (EX join with the 4GB internal space). I don't need internal space for data, i usually store them in the SD.

After this mod your sd card will be recognized as internal memory and the internal around 4 GB will be recognized as sd card.
Ok... Is possible to change partition table for join application space with intrrnal space (1.1+4 GB) and use for applicazioni? So the sd could be used as external space...

I think for the moment this mod is all and the best you can do.
As i did not create it, i can't say, if there will be other variants in the future.

Nope, as far as I can remember it was detected by the phone worked.. It still works like a charm. I am using the phone now for over a year with that card and never had problems. I think I tested nearly all available ROMS for that phone and never had problems with the card. At present I am using ViperSV 1.1.1.on the phone.

See, I'm also running ViperSV 1.1.1 and when I put the card in initially it said it was unsupported or damaged. Tried reformatting it in Windows, now shows up as 59GB exFAT in Windows but still not working on the phone. Is yours formatted differently or something?
UPDATE: I'm hearing elsewhere that it needs to be formatted as FAT32 in order to work, and Windows doesn't want to format it to anything other than exFAT or NTFS (while SD Formatter only uses exFAT). Apparently there's some sort of issue with the fact that the Class 10 cards have exFAT and a mysterious 16MB hidden offset partition at the start of the drive, so I'm now gonna try getting rid of that to see if it works.
UPDATE: Yep, looks like both: 1. The phone (Android?) doesn't support exFAT without a mounting mod, and 2. That weird 16MB offset at the start of the drive seems to cause compatibility issues as well. Have wiped the offset and reformatted to FAT32, and the card now works.
Thanks for the recommendation and the quick reply!

[Q] SD Card 64GB for Moto G 4G (XT1039)?

Hello,
Can you tell me if it is possible to male fully functioning 64GB SD card on a Moto G 4G (XT1039)?
Normally it is 32 GB but I read messages on the web saying that 64 MB would be possible on this mobile...
If so, what are the types or brands to avoid or better to buy ?
FYI, I am under Android 4.4.4 originally installed on that mobile.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Gigi
YEP IT WORKS
i had a 64gb card in mine for awhile until it corrupted (cost £4) so was all due to it being cheap and unbranded
however it did function properly but you have to used a program called RMPrepUSB to format it to FAT32 so it can be seen by the phone
all you cant transfer many apps over to any SD card due to the framework( i think) developers use , it prevents you from moving it off the phone storage
also avoid buying UHS SD Cards as the moto g cannot operate at UHS speeds , so a class 10-4 should do
I have 64gb samsung memory card and it's working great. Best way how to avoid problems with your card is for fist time format it by your phone.

Thanks a lot for your answer ! Could you send me the references of your 64 Go Samsung SD card, please ?
No risk that it will not be recognized correctly under Android 5.x ?
Furthermore, I can't find a 64 Gb Samsung micro SD card with Class 10 without UHS ? There is Class 6 without UHS and Class 10 with UHS... Any idea about the model which fits well the Moto 4G 1st generation (XT 1039) with Android 4.4.4 and Android 5.x ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

That's a load of rubbish. If a 32gb card works than there is no reason a 64gb won't.

Also whether the card is UHS or not shouldn't matter. UHS cards are faster but not in the moto g but it shouldn't affect compatibility.

I bought Samsung card, because in that time was problem with other cards. But that was sorted with update about year ago. This is my card http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00J29FF4G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434319415&sr=8-1&keywords=samsung+64gb+micro+sd
Anyway since apps are in internal memory any card from class 6 up should be OK .

SD card unexpectedly removed_Honor 6

Does anyone have experience "SD card unexpectedly removed" on brand new Honor 6 H60-L04 (android version 6.0 B860) .. I'm not sure how to fix that I've try so far with no success - format sd card within Honor 6, transfer all data and apps to internal memory leaving empty sd card, I notice it happens randomly, sd was removed for no obvious reason, but it came back for about minute or less, and then sd card works without any problems untill next unexpected reject, I've try that global fix turn off-turn on-unmount-mount with no luck, could it be (soon) broken sd card or malfunction sd slot?

How old is your SD? It could be a warning sign that your SD is near EOL(end of life), or it could also be a hardware problem with your phone.

these kind of errors means that your sd card is faulty
Thilak , we cannot say that its an issue with sdcard . Sometimes its because of the rom too . Reflashing a new rom or the original firmware will fix this 99.99% of instances.
Three factors here. Bug with the ROM, faulty SD card, faulty slot. OP ruled it out by using another SD.
So its an sdcard issue is it ? Does that got right protected?
