Almost all the phone I tried that has fingerprint scanner can do this. You can actually register multiple finger into one fingerprint just do like couple times with one finger than switch to another while you register for just one fingerprint. I tried on iphone, sony samsung s7 edge. All seems to work with this, not sure why you would do that..but you can do it. Also this won't effect accuracy of the identification of your fingerprint
I have used that "feature" to place same finger in different angels resulting in no misreadings anymore
I would assume this would cause some problems.
I wish I could add all 10 of my finger/thumbs but I wouldn't trust the method you mention just to be safe lol
Just register multiple fingers, far easier and more accurate.

I would suggest to register fingers from both hands (read 'plaster cast').
Fun fact for those who are extremely paranoid: you can register your toes as fingerprints.
I have both thumb and both index fingers registered.
I'm just impressed how well the print scanner works, I registered both thumbs with slightly varying angles from straight up yet have unlocked with my thumb 90 degrees from straight.
I keep meaning to try it 180d rotated, and forgetting.

Ive had a lot of issues with mine no matter how I set it up. Compared to my 6P which reads it every time no matter what and I don't have to turn the display on to use it. My S7E doesn't seem to like reading my finger for whatever reasons but its rather annoying

Same here, I have to try 1 to 4 times before it accepts my finger. Maybe it's because I've rough skin on my hands and some cuts too.

I wasn't talking about a comparison. I said your post looks like an ad.
It's nothing to do with having both phones, your fingerprint sensor is defective, doesnt make it worse. Mine (and many others) works flawlessly so it's obviously not an issue for everyone.
Also, I've always used the home button to wake my device so it's nice to skip the pin and just keep my finger on the home button to unlock. No hassle at all.

It could be a variety of things, not just the sensor. Since you think I'm trolling then I highly suggest you look the other OP discussing the same issue. You're using a logical fallacy in an attempt to prove your side. If I knew what it was I would gladly tell you, but I don't yet. I tried to factory reset once and reset it up to no avail. It could just be a software bug on certain phones. I received an OTA today so I'll set it up again and see if it's any better.

Everyone was complaining that the iphone has a purple hue when the camera is pointed at bright lights. Well I just found out that the front facing camera on the galaxy s3 has the same problem. Has anyone noticed this before? I know why it happens but this is the first time I noticed it and I couldn't find anyone talking about it. I'm just happy we don't have this problem on the back camera.

I tried recreating the issue. It's not nearly as strong as yours, but it's there. I would guess that most users would find that under the right lighting conditions. It's something I wouldn't have even noticed had you not mentioned it. I don't often sit in front of a light source when using the FFC though.

I'm thinking that there are two reasons why its so strong. One reason is I replaced the light bulbs a few days ago with "twice as bright" bulbs. The second possibility might be the fact I have other light sources in the room. Could have been a perfect storm of them mixed.

I have not replaced a screen on my S3, but I have stripped it down to all the individual parts. Was pretty easy with the walk through found on Ifixit. Just a suggestion.

My day one Nexus has a non functioning GPS, since it was still under warranty I started the process of returns in December. Since then Google has shipped me 2 phones with vibration motors that sound like a wreck. I'm waiting on the third replacement now. Am I swimming upstream with this one or has Google started shipping fixes yet?

Aha that. Tbh my N5 vib. motor acts the same as my nexus 4 used to, and both are a lil bit off when compared to a GS3 for example, so i'm guessing it's either buggy drivers or cheaper hardware that LG is putting in the nexus line. Either way, i'm afraid guys who are RMAing will not get what they are looking for

does it happen to your phone that sometimes (randomly) as if it loses vib. strength, and you can't feel it while typing, then after a while everything comes back to normal.. ?

I have a day one N5. Not one problem (that wasn't because of KK bugs).
All of this worry would be better redirected to deciding what ROM you're going to put on it. And oh man, what kernel should you use?
I know it's personal preference, but I never understood the color thing. Just don't get it. To each their own, I guess.

No, it's just OP'sluck that he got one with small speaker holes. The 312, 401, 402 aren't revisions. In fact they are the month in which the device was manufactured/packed.
Yes, there was no revision. I have a brand new red one and a 311 white one and there are no differences. Besides color of course Lol
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
The larger speaker holes were for the black one specifically. They probably fixed the glue issue and figured they didn't need the larger speaker holes after a short while. Therefore the red and white ones don't have it. Maybe even the newer black ones don't have them anymore. Never know.
Guys, there are no "revisions" or batches. Devices are produced constantly on a line, where device 9999 may be revision 310 the one after it can be 311. Also no device can be exactly same as the other, thats why some have bigger holes, some have smaller.

That's because they aren't updated holes, just variances in the manufacturing process. Exactly why RootSU said tolerances.
