MPOW Armor Plus Bluetooth Speaker - Nexus 6P Accessories

This is by far the best blue tooth speaker that I have ever used. It is in the mid to low price range and out performs others at double what it costs. I was amazed at how this speaker well this speaker sounded. If I had any complaints at all it would be about the weight but that is to be expected when you consider the build quality and durability of this product. This is the first blue tooth speaker I've used that I wasn't scared to bring out at the beach or the pool. I didn't submerse it but it did get splashed and it kept on kicking. I was glad that my phone was kept safely tucked away. I rarely leave reviews but felt that I had to this time. IPOW has really out done themselves.

Earphones fall out of my ears. Slic Sound or Eargels??

Hi there. Just having upgraded from XDAI to XDAII and I am very impressed overal but what I can't understand is how such a good product can come with such lousy earphones. I am not sure who's ears these are designed to fit and by reading here on the forum it seems that a lot of users are having troubles with the XDAII earphones falling out of their ears. The headset and the speakers in them seem pretty good it just that they fall out of your ears.
I have been looking at the
Jabra eargels http://www.jabra.com/products/jabraeargels.htm
and
Slic Sound http://www.slicsound.com/ss001.asp
which seem to fit over the earphone and sit further into the ear so that they are less likely to fall out. Is there anyone out there using these on the XDAII headset? Do they fit the headset? Do they stop it falling out of your ear? Also where can I get them in Sydney??
Andrew.
Dont wash your ears for a while, you will then accumulate enough wax for the earphones to adhere to.
Duct tape works well too

Speaker placement really an issue (kickstand)

So I'm reading around and alot of people are hating the speaker placement on the tbolt. The speaker is placed right behind the kickstand. Personally to me I think it's a great spot. When the kickstand is closed the sound bounces off and projects to the front. I'm not noticing any substantial muffeling that everyone is talking about. The speaker is loud. Great speaker. Anyways what do you guys think about the tbolt speaker placement?
(On a side note worst speaker placement ever on a phone: iPhone series. Put the phone in landscape while playing a game and hand covers up the speaker. Horrible.)
Bounces off it??? It’s down in a crevice!!
Just pick one up and do anything that makes sound and open and close the kickstand... It does not take a rocket scientist to hear that in every single instance of the phone making sounds from ringtone, to speaker call, to YouTube video that the audio is muffled with the kickstand closed!!
It wouldn't sound muffled if you had robot ears!
OK let me rephrase this. Listening to music, playing games etc. Your hand makes a cup shape weather your in landscape or portrait. So if you doing anything with audio the sound is bouncing off your hands to you. It may be in a crevice but it's not air tight. Alot of the sound escapes toward the end of the kickstand. And that gap could possibly act as a cone and speed up the wavelength, increasing volume. But when your wanting to play audio with the kickstand out. The sound is bouncing all over the place. Off the table and kickstand. Giving off a louder sound. I'm just saying it's not the worst design flaw on the phone.
I'm doing a video demo right now... Will post link soon...
Here it is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1l-9oZAu4w
My 4 year old Nikon Coolpix couldn’t really pick up the stark audio differences…
but they are hugh!
I like the placement.

I also like the placement.
Only an audiophile would care about the slightly muffled sound, and a true audiophile wouldn't use tiny phone speakers anyway.

See this kind of statement that proves a lot of people here must just be fan boy because it manes absolute no sense. ..
You like the placement? Really? You like that they chose to cover the speaker with a piece of metal as opposed to not covering the phones only speaker with a piece of metal?
So you look at all those other phones out there on the market and say… “Well I don’t know… Looks a little off, for one thing they need to have a movable piece of metal that in almost all uses of the phone is snapped down right over the speaker. “
Or
“Wow… the phone looks ok but that unimpeded speaker looks a little questionable… Better slap a piece of solid metal over it just to be sure… I think for a high end phone that is what you need…”

For the second time, yes. Even with the metal stand over the speaker it's noticeably louder than my older devices.

For the 2nd time... Who the hell cares?? This is not about the Thunderbolt Vs. "your older devices"!!
You really don’t get this yet?
It’s about the Thunderbolt with the kickstand closed Vs. the Thunderbolt with the kickstand open!!!

Is the choir a bunch of people that refuse to acknowledge that the kickstand is a really bad design for two very significant reasons? Because if that’s the case... yes I am preaching to the choir…
But personally all I have seen on here are people that want to pretend that that’s not the case and blindly praise the device just because they have one.
I use headphones most of the time so its not really an issue.

Hey man I'll complain about other things regarding the TB. Lack of aluminum unibody, finicky GPS...when I reboot my TB sometimes it resets my ringtones...occasional data drops. The Speaker?? Sorry man but I love the speaker design. Best speaker I've ever had on a phone. The way they designed it works fantastic for me and I wouldn't change it if I could. I can even put the TB in the car dock and clearly hear the voice turn by turn commands with the window down, that's how loud and clear the speaker is for me. Ringtones and notifications, seinfeld episodes...phone calls on speakerphone all are loud and clear and often I have to turn the sound DOWN. Like I said it's one of the things I would NOT change about the TB. Everything I have described is with the kickstand closed. I do not use my kickstand.

So again... just to get this straight... You would request a solid metal plate tightly fitted over speaker in recessed indention over just a normal speaker... OK. Check.
So why did they perforate the speaker cover underneath the solid metal plate? I guess the engineers determined that the perforated speaker grate covered by the solid metal plate was the ideal config huh? OK cool. I mean if it wasn’t for that kickstand they would have just had the speaker cover be a piece of solid metal by itself... Only because they knew it was going to be covered by another piece of metal most of the time did the decide that it needed to be perforated... ok I get it know.. Makes perfect since!! Damn this phone is high tech!

Yes I did. Long before the TB was released I constantly email HTC and asked for this feature. They honored my request, gave me fantastic audio, and as a bonus irritated the hell out of you.
Sorry dude the speaker works great for me. I thought your video was funny but I don't use my kickstand so the USB placement is not an issue for me.
Why in the hell would I care what they did with the speaker as long as I can hear it loud and clear? The speaker causes no audio issues for me so they are free to cover it with the kickstand if they want to...at least on my phone. Oh and yours as well like I asked them to. If the kickstand affected the audio for me then I would be unhappy.
If you don't like it return it. Period. I have no issues with my speaker. Everyone else I know with this phone don't mind it either. They don't see it as an issue. Your not going to change minds by doing what you're doing. Just return the device and move along. Easy.

I wonder what would happen if you drilled holes in the kickstand?

A Plead to Case Manufacturers

Design a case that has a 'channel' for the speaker. use a little bit of common sense in your design since lg didnt have the sense to design the phone correctly.
channel = put and indentation/recess from the speaker grill to the side and bottom edges of the case so the sound has a decent chance of escaping. or put a 1-2mm hump/bump on the bottom corners of the case to lift it up so the sound can escape.
help a brother out would ya? its prety much a guarantee that the first one to do this will have the most popular case among the n4 and the optimus owners.
I actually prefer having the back of a phone to be flat. It feels a lot better in my hand but I do agree that when the is face down the speakers are not hearable

i like it being flat. reminds me of my old iphone days. i just wish they would have designed the phone in a way that we can hear notifications when sitting on a flat table. or better yet... the ringtone loud enough to wake me up when i get a phone call. i miss more calls and texts than i ever have.
its all well and good until you miss a home cooked meal because your brand new top of the line phone cannot emit decibels because the speaker is muffled.
i think a properly designed case will get around the issue pretty well. im talking about a recess or a couple of itty bitty bumps on the corners by the way. not a big hump.

Neo Hybrid with the save!

So...as I was leaving today I dropped my Note 4 from about 3.5 feet, it landed dead flat on my brick paver walkway.... pancake style... screen facing down. The cheap plastic screen protector from Verizon 3 for 12.99 had a few scuffs, nothing major. All seems to be ok underneath, phone is working fine.
Yes.....this case is not perfect. Heart Rate Monitor really does not work well as instructed; head phone jack does not accommodate higher end connectors. However, when $850 leaves you hands toward the cement, the Neo Hybrid comes up big!
Most phone cases "come up big" when it comes to protecting a phone. That's their job. I don't see why you're praising this model specifically, especially when the "Heart Rate Monitor really does not work well as instructed" or "head phone jack does not accommodate higher end connectors".
Of course, the phone case did it's main job, but you're still missing out on better features most other phone cases will give you, also, isn't it true that the microphone holes are misaligned?
EDIT: I am sorry for sounding misinformed in saying " isn't it true that the microphone holes are misaligned?", but I believed this was the Verizon Specific Accessories page, seeing as I was lead here through that section of the forum, but it took me to a GENERAL Note 4 forum.

HR Monitor is not that big of a deal for me, I'll probably drop my phone more than I will use the HR monitor. I'm on AT&T, no issue with the alignment. This case walks the line between protection and Esthetics (thin), nice to see it leaned to the side of protection. I made the post to inform people of real life performance.

For a 80 dollar price the case feels extremely cheap. I had it for a couple days but returned it. first case failed water test bottom port doesn't "seat" but is sealed by the pressure of clipping it together. (probably the most likely fail point), The screen protector sits too far from the screen you have to apply pressure for the screen to work. It's also difficult to swipe down from the top. There's thin sheets covering the camera and finger print scanner not sure how well they will hold up over time. As far as sound the back has a gap as well creating a vibrating effect when using the loud speaker. It's not hideous but quite annoying just the same. I didn't record any sound but chanced are that may be distorted as well. But some people may like the rattling sound of the speakers since lifeproof is calling it their sub woofing system lol. But this is just an opinion. You may like it.
I got one... I got it for functionality, as a machinist everywhere in my work area is oily including the air.
As mentioned above it does have a cheap feel to it. Mines passed the water test and that's what I was MOST interested in.
Touch navigation is flawless for me even with oily hands.
I was pleasantly surprised that the speaker/fingered print sensor/mic worked at all. Though output from speaker defiantly wasn't hifi. When I purchased I planned on always being connected on Bluetooth. After realizing that I could hear without headphones Bluetooth is now a option not a necessity.
Bottom line... If you spend time in wet environments it's a capable case up for task. If aesthetics is your goal go another direction.

Got mine at worstbuy the same day I upgraded to the G5. I'm usually dubious of screen protector/all in one type cases. Plus, I have giant fingers, so that was a concern also.
I can happily report that so far I have not run into any issues with this case.
Notification drawer slides down with ease, sound isn't affected too much, touch is all but the same as w/o the case.
It just adds a little bulk to the phone (but that's expected with these types of cases). Otherwise, no complaints. Well worth the 79.99 investment.

lifeproof will be great , if you do not mind to pay for 80 dollars
I like mine. It failed the water test the first time around so I sent in for another that works well. The only issue I have is using headphones. For some reason it thinks I'm sending voice commands when I don't even have a mic on my headphones. Sometimes it works great other times I get regular OK Google interruptions and the music will pause/unpause itself when placing the phone in my pocket.
EDIT: I'm actually going to return mine now. Or at least sell it. I do not trust this thing to be waterproof. Whenever I used it in the bathroom while I'm taking a shower (it just sits next to the sink... like 5 ft from the shower even) I notice water vapor trapped inside between the screen and protector the next day. This is the 2nd one I've noticed this with & the 2nd one even passed my initial water test, unlike the first. I don't trust this USB port cover to ever be waterproof and the issues with the headphone jack are just an icing on the cake.

Damn, someone should tell their customer support so they can tell dummies like myself haha. My phone got soaked in a camelbak related mishap the other day (works fine, got completely drenched while on. water in the battery compartment and everything) so I've been using the lifeproof since then. Their customer support is very nice and hassle free though.
