Hi all.. Friends i am using m8 with modified software android 4.4.2 .. i am unable to update my phone to marshmallow.. so how can upgrade my m8 spirit version to marshmallow?

I am new to this forum, but i have an application car-net which do not longer work after i upgraded to lollipop on my htc m8
The application is car-net
I have heard it work on other phones after they have upgraded to lollipop so i dont think its related to the version lollipop iself, maybe it htc version of lollipop
I use this application daily so maybe someone here in the forum can help me solve the problem

Yesterday i have bought new M8, until the upgrading 5.0.1, wifi worked fine. After the 5.0.1 all things goes wrong i cannot connect internet via wifi.
How can i fix these problem without rooting ?
Do i have to wait update from htc ? or should i return my device within 7 days.

Hi, I have installed the stock rom for my device for version 4.3 in mid 2014 from guru downloads and I got the updates on air with no issues and now my device is running by 4.4.3 and recently I got the OTA update for the android 5 and after completed the download a message appeared that my rom is a modified version.
so, please could you advise how i can solve this issue.
my device is unlocked and S-on and the existing rom 6.07.1540.2

Hey I have an HTC one m8 with stock lollipop but i want to convert it to GPE lollipop because i am facing some difficulties with stock firmware.. Is there any way I can do this without rooting my phone per se.. as in can I convert my phone into HTC one m8 GPE with all the OTA updates etc?

Thanks for writing to us at XDA Assist. I'm sure you're going to need to modify your phone somewhat in order to convert it to the Google Play Edition. Can you please confirm which variant of the M8 you have please?

You must downgrade to .77 (kitkat 4.4.4) before. Check on google, there's many threads for this.

hey that was very helpful. found a way to root the device in 4.4.4 and get it back to 5.0.2 without losing root. thanks :good:
