Hello to all
anyone tried to convert the pc companion files to FTF using flash tools for future installation?
I'm trying to follow this guide:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
I have the update files from pcc:
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I go to Tools > Bundles > FILESET Decrypt and select the files, then press convert!
However flash tools just stuck on decryption forever
how much time does it take to create a FTF file?
I have the same problem but I'm lazy to search for a solution, try the official thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Have you tried to just download directly from the X1 icon, then select the one you want. then download it and right at the completion of the download it will automatically create the FTF file which you can just flash, from the flash menu. This was what I did with no issues, although I must say it took a real long time at the system phase with the progress bar all way across

It sounds that flash tool only works with xperiafirm files!
Well, I didn't tried that because I'm on a limited data traffic plan here and I don't want to re-download 2.36 GB

hi friends,
i have a big problem with my pc,
i have tried many zipping softwares but every time i want to install .zip files from the recovery it shows:"installation aborted"!
it's really bad for me because i should zip folders with my phone! & sometimes i can't...
can you help me pls?
You are not making things clear?!!
firstly,your PC can't zip files or your phone?
and what has zipping softwares gotta do with your phone's recovery???
you can't just zip any folder and apply it your recovery!
if you are having issues with recovery, follow this guide and install latest recovery.
if you have issue with zipping software in PC check you antivrus first..maybe it isn't allowing you to create .zip/.rar
Or just make a virtual machine on pc and zip your folders if you don't want to re-install the whole OS again.

A zip file has to be "flashable" for it to successfully install anything to your phone through recovery (with an update script, etc, etc).
Also, English only please.

i have tried , this time it worked with deflate compressation method via 7zip, storing without compressing via 7zip,zipping using windows, & store by winrar.
it is strange!
but it didn't work by bzip2,deflate64, lzma & ppmd methods.
i should try with something else too.
thx
& also if i just decompile an apk file & then compile it without any changes,then it won't work!:crying:
try 7-zip 7-zip.org or use xplore app for android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore&hl=en to dicomplie or make flashable zip this app is working great for me.

Before we proceed, let me remind you guys, that you are doing this at your own risk and no one is to be held responsible!!!
This ROOTing procedures and installing of CWM works perfectly on my device, so read and follow all the instructions carefully!!!:fingers-crossed:
We can install CWM without rooting this phone, so feel free to choose where do you want to start...:highfive:

Download files below and do the following procedures.

5. Follow on screen instructions...
6. Go to your phone and allow to complete rooting process.

Moving on...
1. Extract all the files you downloaded from the links above on your desktop, and it's better to put them on same folder.
2. Right cllick on SP Flashtool and run as administrator.
3. Click on Scatter-Loading and look for the "ScatterFile".
4. Uncheck everything except for the recovery and look for "recovery.img" and hit enter, F9, or download button.
5. Click yes then turn off your phone, remove and put back the battery.
6. SP FlashTool will start downloading the custom recovery image.
7. Wait until finish downloading...the next screen will appear and hit enter.
Congratulations!!! You have now a Custom Recovery installed. Turn your phone off, and just press VOL UP + POWER BUTTON to enter into your new recovery.
NOW your phone is ready for customization, but before doing that...SECURE A NANDROID BACKUP !!!
I dont have customROM available for this device yet, but thanks to rovo89 for his great Xposed Framework
With this great application, you can now modify your ROM without modifying any APK's or flashing from recovery!!!
Some customization done on my phone is the APM (advance Power Menu)
Volume option to set independently
I also managed to backup the stock ROM of this device, that can be easily download back to your phone by means of SP FlashTool. (assuming you have messed up your phone system and failed to work properly)
Other purpose of the full backup is for the customROM, (wish that some of our good devs here might find time to take a look and help us make a customROM out of it)
I'm not good of creating customROM, but I'm hoping that I could build one...regards to all!!!:fingers-crossed:
This is my first thread so please consider this , just post any comment if i missed anything...thanks!!!

many thanks man!!!
Hi, yeah I tried this following your instructions and no matter what when I chose restore in TWRP nothing would show in the SD card. I tried the zip then the folder and then the contents of the folder only and nothing was there. Maybe I am doing something wrong? Is there a specific version of twrp that should be used?
Cheers

You need to unzip the file on the pc and put the folder inside the folder "TWRP/BACKUP/TA39....(this folder vary from device to device) /"
Be carefully to not rename the backup folder that you downloaded or it will not work because the folder name appear inside the backup files

Thanks, tried that, did a backup of my phone using TWRP and then copied the folder into the backup folder created by TWRP. Still when I choose restore no folders show up at all on the SD Card. The version of TWRP is am using is 3.1.1-0. Maybe I should try the latest? My phone is not stock but I don't think that should matter

First update your Flastool to version 0.9.24.2 if you didn't.
If it doesn't help try this. Go to
Computer or This PC --> Local disc --> Users --> your user name --> .flashTool
In devices find folder G81XX and copy this folder to mydevices. After that open mydevices --> G81XX and find file endind with .fsc (in my case 47.1.fsc) and rename it with name of your firmware (in my case I renamed it to F8142_47.1.A.12.34.fsc). You must have internet connection connected all time.

I've the same problem with OP. But I can't find an fsc file in the G81XX folder. There's only a G81XX.properties file. I have resynced the devices but no help.:crying:
I solved my problem just now. In fact Flashtool didn't sync the device data with GitHub, so there's no .fsc file in the G81XX folder. I manually downloaded the G81XX folder from GitHub and added them to mydevices folder, and Flashtool works now.

This worked for me after days of searching online. Thank you very much.
I have the latest flashtool but still get this issue, why? There is a 47.1.fsc in the devices folder (G81XX), so why does it still not work???
