hi friends,
i have a big problem with my pc,
i have tried many zipping softwares but every time i want to install .zip files from the recovery it shows:"installation aborted"!
it's really bad for me because i should zip folders with my phone! & sometimes i can't...
can you help me pls?
You are not making things clear?!!
firstly, your PC can't zip files or your phone?
and what has zipping softwares gotta do with your phone's recovery???
you can't just zip any folder and apply it your recovery!
if you are having issues with recovery, follow this guide and install latest recovery.
if you have issue with zipping software in PC check you antivrus first..maybe it isn't allowing you to create .zip/.rar
Or just make a virtual machine on pc and zip your folders if you don't want to re-install the whole OS again.

A zip file has to be "flashable" for it to successfully install anything to your phone through recovery (with an update script, etc, etc).
Also, English only please.

i have tried , this time it worked with deflate compressation method via 7zip, storing without compressing via 7zip,zipping using windows, & store by winrar.
it is strange!
but it didn't work by bzip2,deflate64, lzma & ppmd methods.
i should try with something else too.
thx
& also if i just decompile an apk file & then compile it without any changes, then it won't work!:crying:
try 7-zip 7-zip.org or use xplore app for android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lonelycatgames.Xplore&hl=en to dicomplie or make flashable zip this app is working great for me.

try and flash the .zip file. that might work
Should i flash it with the Flashtool in which folder should i copy the Zip file?
Any Screenshots from the Black Market???
if you have xrecovery you can flash from there also.. place the .zip file on the root of your sdcard .. before you do that.. did u change the name of the .apk file to Vending.apk instead of Vending_2_2_11.apk
no should i?
thats what i did before placing it in the system/apps folder
try this
1. The first step is to download Market Version 2.2.11 from here, unzip and save it on your desktop.
2. Once done, connect your phone to PC and mount SD card as flash drive.
3. Now copy the downloaded APK file to SD Card root.
4. Launch Market and download Astro File Manager.
5. Once the download is complete, launch Astro File Manager, tap on SD card and scroll down to Vending_2_2_11.apk.
6. Now tap on this apk file and press Open App Manager.
7. In this menu, tap on Upgrade and wait for the installation process to complete.
8. Once done, exit the file manage and open Market on your phone. If it opens and you can see the usual apps, then enjoy as it is success.
i have placed it in on the SD Card not in the System/app folder! But i have tried to place it in the system folder but its not possible! Cant copy?
Doesnt work with the Astro File Manager!
astro is only to upgrade. u need root explorer to make changes
No Problem i will take the old Market maybe they put the Blackmarket in one of the next Hotfixes for Free X10!
THANX Hihat!
Love the message as you flash it through xrecovery
Just installed it..but now i get a forced close message all the time.. what should i do?
*edit* uninstalled it and flashed the gapps_latest_freex10.zip back.. but the message doesn't dissapear and i can't open market.
*edit2* cleared dalvik & cache and flashed all the stuff again and it works now..

Wasn't funny for me. I have copied zip to sdcard, booted into xRecovery, installed custom zip, got scary message "Do you feel ok? you shouldn't you just blacked out"
Reboot, and I can't find market anywhere in app drawer, root explorer, anywhere... Also tried adb install apk file, but said " failure, older sdk". :-(
What am I doing wrong?
Nhoting is black on my phone whats going wrong i didn't get any errors either grtz
Edit 2.2.1 Z has market . 7 so this doesnt work there is another trhead for that one and that works
Can someone please post a screenshot?
I am aware that this is my third thread about asking questions but these questions are pretty much precise and hard to find just googling online, especially when this is my first time Rooting/Flashing ROMs.
I tried to apply the ROM and it didnt continue, it said it was aborted or something
it says
cant open \rom folder name
"bad"
Installation aborted
Hi,
U may need to give more specifics.....
Phone type?
Root method?
Which ROM is giving u the problem?
Which ROM are u currently on? Or is it ur first ROM after root?
Are u installing via recovery or ROM manager?
Lastly, I'd put this post in whichever ROM u are actually trying to flash since the development crew monitor that thread of their ROM.
Good luck
Vs Nexus S 4G
Phone type? Nexus S i9020a
Root method? manual root using command prompt in computer
Which ROM is giving u the problem? pretty much any rom, maybe Im putting it in the phone's memory the wrong way?
Which ROM are u currently on? Or is it ur first ROM after root? Im using cyberGR rom right now, but I had to do it the easy way and download it through ROM manager. Im hoping I could learn doing it manually
Are u installing via recovery or ROM manager? see above ^^^
to be honest I dont really know how to put the rom inside the phone... what I did is I just unzipped it to the folder inside the Nexus S( mounted storage to PC)
went to recovery and picked that folder, but then it says:
cant open \rom folder name
"bad"
Installation aborted
Ahh. Don't unzip it. Throw the .zip itself on the phone.

and same applies for custom themes, widgets, launchers, icons ect? How do I access it through the phone?
Any flashable zip can be installed by going to "install zip from SD card" select the zip file and it will install automatically.

If the author of the zip file says: "Flashable through CWM (Clockworkmod)" then it can be installed in this way. No unzipping required.

Are you sure you have cwm on there? Top of ROM manager, reflash cwm. Doing it manually is simpler than from manager. Just boot into recovery, wipe what you need to and install the relevant .zips.

its sounds like you dont have a custom recovery installed. if you did flash clockworkmod recovery from rom manager(i hate that app), chances are that your custom recover disappeared. try flashing cwm recovery through fastboot.

Thanks for the DiskInternals thingy
Since i never needed to extract a System.img I never looked for a method but I will remember this. Seems fairly straightforward.
And thanks for the creds.
I will try this one.
Btw, i made a backup with twrp. Ia there any way to get the backed up system.emmc.win file extracted? Renaming it to .tar doesn't work.
What I try to achive is an extracted ROM so I can deodex the apks

add .tar to the end of each image and under Linux or cygwin use tar -xvf xxxx.tar
Hmm... Hoped there's anything for win 8.1
...setting up cygwin
Edit: @LeeDroid
Nothing happens when doing the command in the cygwin window...
Worked like a charm
I did have to edit the ConvertHima.bat and remove the line set wf=%cd%\ for it to work
but everything else was spot on .. thanks!!

System.img or Dump
Worked great I think. I did get an error, and I received this error 4 times for sparse.img, 2,4,6,8. Here is the error: - "1 [main] sparse2img 7912 find_fast_cwd:". It also says "WARNING Couldn't compute FAST_CWD pointer. Please report this problem to the public mailing list [email protected]". I wrote cygwin, and got a reply from a Marco stating, "Dear Hal, Same answer as given last month to another guy". Then gave me this link https://cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2015-05/msg00318.html. Followed by, "Please report the solution to whom provided the ConvertHima.bat". The answer in the link basically says a utility called rsync is being used, and the person who provided it is bundling it with an old version of the cygwin kernel. I did however get a new system_hima.img, and I started ConvertHima.bat. After completion I have what appears to be a complete system image. It's 3.53Gb in size, and has the folders - app, bin customize, etc, fonts, framework, lib, lib64, lost+found, media, priv-app, tts, usr, vendor, xbin, and has the file build.prop. It appears to have all the Deodexed APK's in app and priv-app. This is from the T-Mobile RUU. I'm using Window 8.1.
I'm trying to create a system dump (1.40.708.9)but was stuck at step 2. Where can I download my ROM.zip?

That could be true. Seems like this is to extract M9's rom from an RUU and not from the phone itself.

Hello to all
anyone tried to convert the pc companion files to FTF using flash tools for future installation?
I'm trying to follow this guide:
http://www.xperiablog.net/2014/08/1...re-files-using-xperifirm-and-flashtool-guide/
I have the update files from pcc:

}
I go to Tools > Bundles > FILESET Decrypt and select the files, then press convert!
However flash tools just stuck on decryption forever
how much time does it take to create a FTF file?
I have the same problem but I'm lazy to search for a solution, try the official thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Have you tried to just download directly from the X1 icon, then select the one you want. then download it and right at the completion of the download it will automatically create the FTF file which you can just flash, from the flash menu. This was what I did with no issues, although I must say it took a real long time at the system phase with the progress bar all way across

Hey, This is my first post, hope it goes well
What happened was,
-->I installed a custom rom(LineageOS) with the help of twrp recovery installed from xda(link below) and I have succesfully installed the rom and also intalled root with it
-->Later, after further use of the new rom, ,it was uncomfortable. It was not as fast and compactable as the original rom so I decided to revert back to the official and original rom.
-->But This is where I made a big mistake, I was to try to clear the data and try if the custom rom fixed but instead, I wiped up the whole rom and no backup!!!
-->Now, I cannot go into recovery mode, bootloader and whichever vol+ and vo- and power, all combinations boot me to twrp.
-->luckyly, the adb sideload is working and it is not detected in the lenovo downloader software for me to flash.
Any help? Please help me.
Thanks

Correct.
Search for suitable Stock ROM at your own.
I've searched for over 3 days but no luck.
All I get is the rar file and inside that, firmware folder, drivers and software for flashing it.
If I get the tab into bootloader, I can flash but it does not allow me to go into boot loader, stock recovery.
All it does is to take me back to TWRP.
I have aldready installed around 7-9 stock roms but no zip file with meta inf folder, boot.img, system.img and the other required files.
Please Help
So I searched the WEB for tablet's Stock ROM and found it within seconds.

You flash it either via ADB Sideload method or via Lenovo Downloader Tool.
Hi,
Even I had found the same one.
But how do I flash it via adb sideload?
The problem is, in the zip file, there is drives, firmware and another folder.
