Is wet touchscreen more responsible than S5? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

It's a pain to control Samsung Galaxy S5 when the touchscreen is wet or there are few drops of water. There used to be similar issue with Sony Xperia phones until Z3+ and Z5 that got really good at handling the touchcreen when wet (http://blog.gsmarena.com/wet-touchscreen-test-sony-xperia-z3-vs-xperia-z3/). So how good is the S7?

I am also interested.

Yes, I saw a first impressions video on YouTube of the guy using the screen underwater. Safe to assume it works significantly better with it wet.

Can anybody confirm?

The parylene coating stuff is pretty cool. I wish there was a way to do it easier.
i wonder if you can take off the battery cover and put it back on and it still be waterproof....one of the advantages of the S4 over the other phones is the removable battery...also wondering if putting in and taking out a set of headphones would eventually wear down the coating on the headphone port....
i dont plan on submerging a phone under water (unlike all the idiots who bought the xperia z who are now having speaker problems) but would be a nice little insurance policy of types if it did happen to fall into a puddle and i were able to pick it up and dry it of quickly
pretty cool technology either way and im sure more phones in the future will have this kind of protection coming from the factory
edit: also wondering about the speaker....i know when the xperia z showed off its water proofing no one did a speaker test after it came out of the water and it seems like everyone who bought the phone submerged it in water and the speakers have been going crazy....i see in the liquipel video they test that phones screen after it comes out but thats not what im worried about i have dropped a phone in the toilet before and dried it off and the screen still works....im more worried about the sound....

If you have a phone that has a removable battery, the battery gets coated too..pretty much the entire phone gets coated.. I personally didn't test my speaker immediately after I put it in water, however I don't have any speaker issues either

I really want to get my phone protected by liquipel but there are so many mixed reviews and its tough to count on company made videos as they will always show the best side...I have dropped my phone in rain and constantly take it into the bathroom to listen to music and this has resulted in water damage (I know some of you will say "well dont take it into the bathroom idiot" but its my thing dont judge)
I just emailed liquipel to see if they have a date for the s4 and will be publishing the email here once i get it...I am still on the fence about getting it.

same here, hope its good, iv heard people complain about some cases that are waterproof and have full body protection having problems with phone calls and people not hearing them clearly. This seems to have holes for the microphone and if that doesn't work im sure opening the charging port will. also it seems like you cant use the fingerprint scanner with this case.

It's ip-68 certified... Meaning it is water PROOF to 2 meters (6.6 feet) if they are completely lying then I don't know but I know that is a very precise certificate to obtain. For reference, the lifeproof cases are all ip-68 certified.

So what's the consensus with this case? Is it worth the price and does waterproofing as advertised?

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I want a waterproof case because of work so it would be really helpful.
Reviews for their other cases available on Amazon are mixed (Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus). Extremely poor sound when talking on the phone appears to be common.
Lifeproof also has the same review of poor quality but I have had 3 on 3 different phones and call quality didn't seem reduced in any way. I just hope it looks the same as the s5 and iPhone 6/6plus. The note 3 one by the way you posted isn't ip68 certified

Oh sorry. Yes I got it. Took less then 10 min to install no issue. Touch response is perfect. No change. Finger scanner works as is. I tried taking a few pics but the camera I was using isn't very good. Screen is nice and thin. Don't even notice it's there. It's expensive but I think the best option. Plus this was the only screen protector I could get delivered within a few days.
Can someone give a review for this dome with video.. Im sure we all want to know more about it.
I had a thin glass protector as a gift when I bought mine
Works fine with the fingerprint reader but it has a black line contour which lies a little bit over the screen border. As a result I can't see the three lines for the buttons at the bottom and the top right notification is half hidden
imma buy it if they have discount

What do you think of this Fingerprint Friendly Tempered Glass for the Samsung S10?

What are your thoughts on this glass?
InvisShield True Fit for Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus
Mod Edit
Seems the same as Whitestone with a few exceptions. I do like that the camera cutout isn't there but I feel like Whitestone is easier to install with the kits they provide.
Might be a good idea to install that way! Thanks for the share. I ordered something similar from AliExpress, gonna take forever to get here and has some bad and good news for the fingerprint sensor
Im not going to blow money on these gimmicks. Tempered glass has soo many advantages too but the reality is- there is no great solution for the curved screen except a wet install and good case+ extreme care like not walking and using phone, not holding phone while getting out of car in gravel driveway, etc.

FINALLY GOT MY GLASS TODAY AND IT WORKS!!
I tried first with standard way and fingerprint didn't work. Second try followed that video the mods took down and it worked perfectly!! I didn't even re-register my fingers. It's a little less accurate but I'd rather not have a cracked screen when i get careless over the next 3 years I own this phone.

I'm using it. My only issue with the glass in this thread is the absence of the camera cutout. I know before I had stated it seemed nice but my Whitestone has lifted up around the top while still actually being adhered to the phone. If I didn't have the cutouts then my front camera would be blurry. I assume this company would use similar glue and would end up with the same results later on.
get an insurance for it, and save money on your case!!!!

My Note 9 has glue and I was very careful applying it. I can not assure you that it is 100% waterproof but it has received humidity from rain, wet tables, etc and I have not had a single problem. I gave it to my brother and he loves it. I think that being carefull it can be waterproofed.
Jerryrigeverything and the other guys who make transparent phones just do it to show but not for daily use. I am confident that my phones are sealled. Time will tell but the note 9 has been transparent por months and is perfect.

Yes. I saw it but I preferred the original look. It would be great if the original battery color was red but I do not want to touch the battery.
OP, I have a quick question. Isn't there some sort of black "card" that covers the motor for the front camera? I think it contains the NFC antenna.
Did you lose any functionality (other that waterproofing) by doing this? I only ask because, once I break my back glass (and I'm sure I will eventually), I'll probably do this as well.
Looks good btw.

I removed the black cover to be able to show the camera motor and the board. I just lost NFC which I never use. Everything else works as expected.
In a couple of days I will post new pictures with the back glass glued and I think that I can make it waterproof again or at least splash resistant.
