Hey guys I´ve never flashed a custom ROM in my device so i have some doubts
What version should I be flashing in? A snapshot of cm 12 or the nightly of cm 13?
The same ROM serves to all moto G devices? (XT1032, XT1033 and XT1034)?
What are the risks if the flash go wrong and can i fix it?
which is the best Gapps version?
I´m in kit kat 4.4.4 if im going to flash cm 13 which is 6.0 i need first to update to lollipop?
What is the easyest way to flash? Manually? From a computer?
If you´ve read and answer this thank you, it means a lot to me because I dont have any experience with flashing and anything that you say here can help me. Thank you.
And sorry for the bad english, I´m still learning

I'd start with installing fastboot and drivers on your PC - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
Unlocking bootloader - https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
Installing TWRP on your device - http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...-2-8-2-0-touch-recovery-t2980621/post57672469
And backing up you current working rom.
Choice between CM12 and 13 is up to you, but AFAIK 12 is not being developed anymore. There should be no problem going to MM straight from KK and as for GApps - I personally would not flash them at all, but if you want them you need some small version because there's not enough space for stock or bigger ones on system partition of Moto G. Just look what different versions contain and choose the one that has what you need.
I prefer flashing through TWRP, it's the easiest way I believe.
And be prepared for anything to go wrong.
Thank you, one last question, if i backup my current ROM it also backup my apps? if not post a method of how to do that

TWRP will backup everything, unless you un-check something in a backup settings, but by default everything that you need is included, so just bakcup with default settings.
Mind that unlocking bootloader WILL WIPE EVERYTHING anyway.
and one more thing ..
if you hav'nt done anything with your falcon till now,
first flash official stock 5.1 from
HERE!
what it'll do is, it will update your bootloader, along with radio n stuff,
the lollipop bootloader is need for lollipop or marshmallow builds

The M8 is the first HTC phone I've had. I was a Motorola fan until they locked down their phones tight. I've S-Offed, rooted and bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed on my M8. I'm running a few mods through Xposed and have bloatware frozen with Titanium. I'm just curious if I need to S-on or relock the bootloader and flash the stock recovery to take the OTA? I've heard to wait for devs to get ahold of the update and check it out first but even then what preparations do I need to make? Would really appreciate the help guys. Thanks in advance.
In order to take the OTA you will pretty much have to go back to stock. I would wait until it drops and flash a custom version so you can keep all your tweaks.
If you WANT to accept the ota, I believe you will need stock ROM, stock kernel, and you will need stock recovery. Not sure about locked boot loader, but s off should be fine.
If you DONT want to accept the ota, flash a ROM like cleanrom with a custom recovery and hang tight until someone packages the firmware. For this you will need to use one of the two s off methods, firewater or sunshine s off
By that do you mean one that devs make flashable through custom recovery? Sorry I feel like a newb with this phone. Wish all manufacturers could just do things the same way. I definitely don't want to lose root or unlocked bootloader
Guess I'll just hang tight and see what other people are cooking up once the OTA drops

Great. Thanks for the help. Definitely like HTC better than Motorola already.
Yeah, I'm sure Scott will make a flashable zip of the stock rom. He's going to stock now to be able to pull files and such. Just wait it out till a flashable zip hits.
Will it be just like flashing on a Motorola? Flash from custom recovery and all my data settings stay just like if I took the OTA?

No update until tomorrow...

Q&A for [ROM][5.1][Experimental] CyanogenMod 12.1 | Linaro 4.9 | Code Review
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for [ROM][5.1][Experimental] CyanogenMod 12.1 | Linaro 4.9 | Code Review. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!
it's great thank you
ROM is working great on XT1033 (Moto G 2013 - Dual Sim). Didn't need to soft boot or anything of the sort. Cleaned everything except internal memory and installed the ROM. As of now, its AWESOME!!
Will test for the usual bugs and let you know.. [EDIT] I've found none of the bugs that I encountered in the other 5.1 ROMs out there... Simply Superb work!!
P.S: The G-Apps in the latest build link was for 5.0.x. Gave me an error while flashing. The G-Apps for 5.1 is posted by euroskank at fitsnugly.euroskank.com under banks(Google "android 5.1 gapps"). Sorry... can't post links till I reach 10 posts..
Working good
The rom is working fairly well, no signal icon bug, smooth and with effective memory management. Battery life is reasonable, but not close to CM11 Roms.
One question : Should i flash the 41.18 first to flash this ROM? Because in AOSP i get screen flickering issue
Thanks
Let's try 20150426 out.

I get stuck at the CyanogenMod Boot Logo its been loading for 20 mins lol
Does anyone else get the message: Insert a SIM to send SMS whenever using Hangouts to send a text?
How do I enter build. Prop in bootloader
How do I enter build. Prep info in bootloader for the latest builds from 5-4-15?
Thanks for the help guys I'll just go back to kit Kat

What are you trying to edit in the build.prop? If you have successfully installed the ROM, the build.prop can be accessed using a tool like ROM Toolbox and edited that way.

Not sure I understand. You're stuck in a boot loop or it stalls on the boot animation? Or it's stuck on the bootloader unlock screen?

doex xposed works?
Hello everyone, I'm a new user in XDA. I have a pretty bad English (still learning...) so sorry for that.
I'm a student so I need my phone to be working, and also have decent battery life. My question is, How well does Cyanogenmod work on the Motorola Moto G XT1032? I can't find any recent threads of this topic so I decided to ask here. I have also found people having problems with certain GAPPS. I don't know which to use, so I'll be needing some help with that I'm currently running CM 12.1 and I'm liking the perfomance and battery life.
P.S. If you know any Marshmallow based rom for this device that's better than Cyanogenmod post it, I'll be willing to know :good:
Any experiences with this rom or suggestions are apreciated
In my opinion it's stable enought for daily use, development seems to be fast, but for good performance use a custom kernel with OC support like xperimental kernel. Keep in mind that whats app, chrome and FB kills this phone (like every other phone), use a light browser like opera or stock CM browser and FB lite for good performances, or you'll have a phone full of lag and slow like hell. A good alternative to CM13 is xperimental rom based on M, take a look on it
Yes it's definitely good for daily use! I've been using it since three months!
Does root acces work?
Thanks guys for all your replys, one last question, Could you succesfuly enable root acces on your CM 13 Moto G? What GAPPS should I use?
Thanks in advance
Yes u can use the inbuilt root (maybe u have to enable it via developer options). I prefer open gapps!
Thanks!
Hey guys, I've just installed Cyanogenmod 13 with Open GAPPS and everything is workink ok. Thanks for your responces.
What version you use? I'm thinking install the last nightly update, but I don't know if that version have bugs. (sorry for my english)

Hi, I'm using the version 13.0-20160303-NIGHTLY-falcon. It has some minor bugs, nothing that will prevent you from using it, and the perfomance is very good. If you are going to flash I recomend you using Open GAPS and the lastest nightly from the cyanogen mod download page.
Here are some screenshots from about phone:

Hello,
I am new here and asking you guys for a real help.
what is the best ROM for TF700T Device ?? Because i am facing too much lag .
and whats the best kernel ??
Any of the Katkiss roms starting with the Lollipop version are great. I would go for the Katshmallow, but that is totally personal preference. There are no kernels to chose from. You can fine tune the existing one with the Katkernel app, but only up to MM.

Much more important is your bootloader version and what recovery you are using.

Looks as if the recovery flash was successful, don;t know why it does not boot...
Are you sure you flashed a compatible TWRP version for the TF700?
Post your bootloader version and the recovery version you flashed with a link to it's source.
And don;t do anything rash now! You are fine - nothing happened that can't be fixed. So far....

Dear berndblb
Your cooperation in this matter is highly appreciated.
I am already done with the Blue Screen of teamwin on the same day i wrote about that issue.
I have found a solution that worked out for me.
right now i am running KatKiss ROM MarshMallow 6.0.1 that can be found on this source :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/transformer-tf700/development/rom-t3282166
that was taken from your second replay on your thread " Beginners Guide to root and flashing a custom ROM on the TF700T"
anyway, I have some question about upgrading my twrp version.
Because I am running an old version of twrp with exactly v2.6.3-that3.
so please help me upgrading my twrp recovery project.
Thank you.

If you have TWRP... lmk. And your build is different from mine. So IF.... IF TWRP worked for you on your build, then I'd have to tweak it somehow for mine. But showing me this doesn't show me anything but the fact that you're rooted. And root is super easy....

I'm not an expert here... but I have years of experience flashing phones and bricking them too. So I know if it's not the same Model and software build.. there's a good chance it won't work. My phone is from Panama.... I just don't wanna brick my phone again flashing something that's not meant for my software build or exact model.
