I have a question please. Phone is ZMAX ZTE958. When I am on a call, I would like the KB screen to stay on but it goes black. I have to tap it to come back on. Is there a way to force it to stay on when I make my call? Thanks in advance for any help, that is, if there is any. I have set my display to stay on for 5 minutes but that does not seem to apply to using the phone operation.

Hi
I couldn't find much information about your device here except this thread > ZTE Zmax [Z970] - Guide, FAQ & Discussion. Try posting your query there or in Android Q&A,Help and Troubleshooting.

I flashed Serendipity 6.2 on my Captivate yesterday and I've noticed a problem. The backlight on my buttons at the bottom of the screen stay on all the time, the settings, home, back and info buttons. I cannot find a setting to turn off the backlights on them or a setting to say how long they stay on until they go off. It's draining my battery faster because of it. Has anyone else noticed this problem with Serendipity 6.2, or am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks in advance,
That is a feature in the ROM/Kernel, not a defect. If can be turned off/on in the recovery menu, or controlled via an app.

BLN (black light notification) is not supposed to stay on permanently.
but try booting into clockwork recovery > find BLN settings and disable.
give that a try.
OR it could be a problem with "keep the lights on" or whatever patch/method that rom uses to keep the lights on while touching screen.
also you get more help posting Questions in the Questions and Answer section... or more specifically the Serendipity Q&A thread
For the millionth time:
It's BLN.
It's not a bug.
It's not a problem.
It's not draining battery.
RTFM.
Sent from my Captivate
Thanks for the help guys.
Trusello, I'll keep that in mind on the Q&A thread.
MikeyMike, I'm a relative newbie to android and just got into modding my phone. I'm also new to the forum here and the bulk of information can be overwhelming. I'm still learning my way around to forum so please be patient with a new android user.
Thanks again for all your help.
In the future, most of the ROMs in here have a dedicated sticky in the Q&A subforum where questions like this should go.

There used to be one that does what you are looking for. Unfortunately the main links are no longer live. Maybe someone still has the files on their hard drive somewhere.

I am looking for a feature that I can apply to my Nexus 5. When you call someone and you put the phone up to your ear, the screen turns off but everything else continues on like normal. I would like to be able to toggle this option whenever I want. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Nevermind I found the app with a quick 10 minute search. Screen Standby # Root
I'm pretty sure it does this anyway!
Hey there, new to the forums here. I was wondering if any of you guys new a way to have it so that when I wake the device (note 3 running cyanogenmod 11) , it would be ready to put my pattern In rather then having to hit the lock icon right above the home button every time I unlock my phone. I know its possible, because that's how it was before, but I messed with the keyguard. Apk file it might not be like that anymore (even though I did make a backup and restored it so really it didn't make a difference) is there some kinda check box I need to rick somewhere? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. That kind of defeats the purpose of having a pin or pattern unlock. But if you're on Android 5.x you can use smart lock, settings, security.

Hi there. I've been trying to make this module for my personal use all day today.
What I need is for some code to run before the screen turns on, and if I've understood Xposed correctly, it can, among other things, trigger methods/code before or after a native method is called. (might sound weird, apologizing on beforehand)
I have searched like a mad man after the native/stock method that the phone calls when the screen turns on by hitting the home/power button but I just can't find it, and if I'm going to be really honest, I'm not 100% sure on how to go about if I had that information either. I would be eternally grateful for any help I can get.
Thanks!
