There used to be one that does what you are looking for. Unfortunately the main links are no longer live. Maybe someone still has the files on their hard drive somewhere.

I flashed Serendipity 6.2 on my Captivate yesterday and I've noticed a problem. The backlight on my buttons at the bottom of the screen stay on all the time, the settings, home, back and info buttons. I cannot find a setting to turn off the backlights on them or a setting to say how long they stay on until they go off. It's draining my battery faster because of it. Has anyone else noticed this problem with Serendipity 6.2, or am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks in advance,
That is a feature in the ROM/Kernel, not a defect. If can be turned off/on in the recovery menu, or controlled via an app.

BLN (black light notification) is not supposed to stay on permanently.
but try booting into clockwork recovery > find BLN settings and disable.
give that a try.
OR it could be a problem with "keep the lights on" or whatever patch/method that rom uses to keep the lights on while touching screen.
also you get more help posting Questions in the Questions and Answer section... or more specifically the Serendipity Q&A thread
For the millionth time:
It's BLN.
It's not a bug.
It's not a problem.
It's not draining battery.
RTFM.
Sent from my Captivate
Thanks for the help guys.
Trusello, I'll keep that in mind on the Q&A thread.
MikeyMike, I'm a relative newbie to android and just got into modding my phone. I'm also new to the forum here and the bulk of information can be overwhelming. I'm still learning my way around to forum so please be patient with a new android user.
Thanks again for all your help.
In the future, most of the ROMs in here have a dedicated sticky in the Q&A subforum where questions like this should go.
Having a problem with my Galaxy Fit (Gingerbread 2.3.6 FITDROID 3.2.XXKPP by vishwa). The whole thing works just fine, except I don't get any notification sound for incoming SMSs. It used to vibrate, but now it doesn't even do that. I've tried setting the sounds through the Android system, through Zedge ringtones, and even deleting Zedge altogether, as I thought that this might have been causing a conflict, but to no avail. Now completely out of ideas. If this problem can't be solved, I'm gonna have to start looking for a new ROM to install, as my wife is slowly killing me for missing her texts. Can anyone help out with this?

help from french guy
Hi. 1st of all, sorry for my english.
So did you try this?
Go to "Message" then "settings" then go down and "select sound"
And tell me if something happens
Serious "D'oh" moment going on here. No idea how this setting managed to escape me, but thanks. God, I feel dumb.
So I wanted to flash MIUI 3.1.11 on my Galaxy i9300 S III and I have two rather annoying bugs:
1. I have no lock screen. The phone just wakes up into the home screen.
2. The home button only works for waking the device, after which it turns off.
Everything works on a Sammy rom, but on MIUI 3.1.11, it doesn't work. I'm going insane, because nothing I've tried helps, and I've been on miuiandroid's forum and no on there seems to know or care, and on en.miui.com forum, all they're giving me are the basic replies for noobs (i.e. full wipe, reflash, etc.) all of which I've done over and over again, without help. I've googled for hours on end without result as well.
I opened a topic about it in the i9300 forums, but now I'm turning to the general forum to see if this issue exists for you as well. I checked in the /efs/factoryapp folder but nothing is out of the ordinary there (says ON in both files there.
I have the same problem with my GSM Galaxy Nexus. Read this thread from miuiandroid and it should solve it. http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/no-lockscreen-or-home-menu-i9300.19278/
thanks

I am the OP of that thread. ^^
How many of you use NFC tags? I just got some and seems to be hit or miss if they work. Sometimes it will trigger and work, other times it opens the set-up screen, and sometimes it doesn't work at all unless I unlock the phone.
Thoughts, ideas?

using a case?
go to more settings and see if the ROM youre running has polling modes. I think that effecs when NFC works.
but do a search, theres a lengthy thread dedicated to NFC tags and their uses. might find info there
I watched the video here on setting them up, how they work and such, but was wondering what peoples true life experiences was with them. Currently running Hyperdrive and Darthstalker as my main 2 drivers. Current one does not show polling in the settings. It was just weird how sometimes it works great, then other times doesn't even register until I change something on the phone (like it is in sleep mode).
Thanks,
Glenn

I have a question please. Phone is ZMAX ZTE958. When I am on a call, I would like the KB screen to stay on but it goes black. I have to tap it to come back on. Is there a way to force it to stay on when I make my call? Thanks in advance for any help, that is, if there is any. I have set my display to stay on for 5 minutes but that does not seem to apply to using the phone operation.

Hi
I couldn't find much information about your device here except this thread > ZTE Zmax [Z970] - Guide, FAQ & Discussion. Try posting your query there or in Android Q&A,Help and Troubleshooting.
Good luck
