htc one e8 vs htc one a9 - HTC One E8

I'm considering to upgrade my e8 to a9.
I'm waiting for price drop from a9. I'm planning to buy in summer.
Is this a logical decision?
A9 has 2gb ram in my country and processor is not very fast.

I wouldn't upgrade if i were you as most of the upgrades are very minor.

Thx for your comment. I'm thinking the same for now

a9's battery life sucks; no stereo speakers. Just nicer design. Not an upgrade at all!

[Q] Which phone to upgrade from HTC Desire?

I kinda want some with better now and I've found four phones that I can possibly upgrade to:
1. Samsung Galaxy S (i9000)
The Super Amoled and Hummingbird are the selling points. Cheap feeling plasticky body though and no camera flash. 4" is a good size. About USD 650 / HKD 5000
2. HTC Desire HD
Massive beast with fast fast hardware. I believe this is the fastest phone released to date with the second gen snapdragon and 768 mb of ram. 8mp camera with flash. About USD 675 / HKD 5200
3. Dell Venue
Just released in Hong Kong - first country in the world to have it...guess where I live
1GHz Snapdragon, 512mb ram, 8MP with flash, plastic body with aluminum edges, 4.1" Very good price for the spec....I know judging a product by the brand isnt very good, but Dell isnt a phone brand...dunno if they are good. About USD 514 / HKD 3999
http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/23/dell-venue-launched-in-hong-kong-we-go-hands-on/
4. Google Nexus S
Not out yet in Hong Kong...
Similar to Galaxy but with a better -looking- body. Exact rom version doesnt really matter to me as long it has the ability to flash a new rom, and since the Galaxy has 2.3 builds and they will be usable by the time the Nexus is released, it isnt really a selling point.
On the plus side, you can get virtually ANY phone contract-less including all of the above and more and also the fourth version of the unmentionable device.
Out of those Nexus S but I would wait until new year and go for a dual core phone instead. That way you are ay least investing in some better technology.

HTC One X Tegra 3 and XL S4 Krait

Hello guys,
Well i need some advice from real people. There are two models in my country: international One X and One XL. You know what the differences are. So maybe someone tested both with same kernel and os version. Which processor is better? Tegra 3 or Snapdragon clocked Krait S4?
In your opinion which one to buy and why? Or just go for One S?
P.S. There are like 1 million reviews and benchmarks and like every single one is different.
Thank you for your opinion!

S4 for the battery.

S4 because its the future.
S4 for the LTE.
S4 for the battery life.
S4 for the win
Sent from my One X
I really do not need LTE. The main thing is speed! And about battery? It is really big difference? Or just go for Galaxy S3...? I just love HTC design, and galaxy is just near ugly, but speed is more important, just hate lag so much.
28nm ftw

S4 processor is better. The tegra 3 was rushed so they could be the first to get a quad core. It's crappy architecture. The s4 is better for everything but gaming but only by a little and it kills battery on the tegra

Speed difference is negligible. S4 wins in a lot of benchmarks, and Tegra wins in a couple. And you would likely not see much difference in real world use. Same performance, but better battery life on the S4.
Also, at launch the Tegra version had graphical glitches, and a number of other bugs that were attributed to the Tegra chipset. Not sure if these were ever sorted out, as I don't keep up with that version. But many were doubting it would be fixed anytime soon, as NVIDIA is notorious for taking forever to address such issues.
And you might think you don't need LTE. But its not just about speed. I get fantastic data reception at my house now under LTE, where under HSPA+ it was dismal (1 bar, with frequent connection drops). At some point, you may find your self in a location(s) that has poor HSPA reception, and LTE will save the day.
Every Tegra device I've put my hands on has always seemed far too slow and glitchy for the supposedly excellent hardware and software behind it. Except the Zune HD, but everyone ignored the Tegra 1 for some reason. S4's got better battery, chances are they are basically identical in real world use. The only downside to the S4 is the lack of official support for the Tegra games, but I'm sure we'll be able to play them in time.
To be honest, we might be able to do them now if Chainfire3d works for us.
I'd buy a Qualcomm based device over a Tegra based one any day of the week for all of the reasons already mentioned.
The S4 may be "only" dual core, but it's the better chip.
sweet, another thread for this
you should of done something original, like ask one x vs. galaxy s3

there are s4 with quad core. a chinese phone maker jiayu, is making the jiayu s1 with s4 pro. that is 4 cores with gpu andreno 320! and with 2 gb ram with 32 gb memory with sd card slot and 2500 mah battery or 3000 mah battery!, with a 3.0 megapixel cam in front and 13 megapixel in the bag, and is thin!. only for 260 or more dollars!. incredible no? (gorila glass maybe, like the other older models!) and the value is near the nexus 4, but this one is better, with more battery, (the jiayu g4 with an older procesor with quadcore wins the nexus 4, this will win the samsum galaxy note 2 or more) jiayu is good with good performance battery and resistant products. and very beautiful too

and the definition isnt hd is full hd 440+ ppi !

Is it worth to upgrade from One S to One X+?

From the title itself, is it worth to upgrade to One X+? I mean, one downfall of the One X, is faster battery drain compared to the One S.. and the One S seems to be so much faster than the One X, but now the One X+ have a different chipset and now having a 2100 mAh battery.. do you think it's worth it? I've read some posts in the One X+'s forum that the battery is improved but not that much.. but now, they managed to have 4-5 hrs screen time, which is not by far from the One S.. and the JB and Sense 4+ is buttery smooth compared to the X's stock.. can the One S still beat the One X+?
Btw, i also do like the 64gb storage because 16gb isn't quite enough for me being a mobile gamer and a music lover, that's why i'm considering the upgrade..
Sent from my HTC One S (S4)
Probably not chase you can get the one + battery for the one s and jelly bean with sense4+ is coming at the end on november. USB otg works in jellybean so you can have more storage and tegra 3 is slow compared to other quad cores on the market and it run incredibly hot during gaming.

[Q] some doubts about One S

I Still Cant understand why One S is better than One S in processor having a dual core and another queestion could be which is better One S , Atrix HD, One X in real gaming/3g usage/apps/storage?
no one?
more cores doesn't mean better. it's like having 10 toyotas is not the same as having a ferrari. it's all about quality not quantity. One s has a newer, more advanced processor (qualcomm s4) that's why it's faster.

HTC One A9s

HTC showed on the IFA 2016 in Germany the HTC One A9s, with a very funny or sad Statement (Choose one) :
The HTC One A9s is no successor of the HTC One A9.
If someone likes the HTC 10 but dont want to pay the high price for it, the HTC One A9s comes into the play.
And they have choosen the Name One A9s, because it looked so much like the One A9 and not like the HTC 10.
Tech. Spec :
5" Display 720 x 1.280
Mediatek Helio P10 (8 Cores)
16/2 or 32/3 GB
2.300 mAh Battery
Fingerprint and all needed Sensors.
They just moved the Back-Camera from the center to the left Side.
Device will be released someday this Year for around 299€ (340 USD).
Kinda Funny isnt it ?
Looks more like an iPhone than the htc one a9
I just liked their explaination : Its not a Sucessor of the A9 even if its shares the Name just with a "s" at the End.
And it has more in common (Design) with the A9 then as with the HTC10.
