Issues with MM - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ive got two issues with the new MM firmware.
The first one is not really an issue but something I noticed. When the phone connects to wifi it plays a short sound. But i don't find any option to disable it.
The second one is that I recently played with the app permissions. Since that audio over Bluetooth doesn't work anymore. When I connect to a Bluetooth device the option media-audio is greyed out. I looked again in the permissions but my player has everything allowed. Any idea why?

(andromadus 10.1 rom) DSP managers eq is randomly turning off

i would post this in andromadus thread in android development, but i´m not allowed to, cause i didnt post till now. maybe a mod could move it to there....thanks in advance.
I noticed DSP Manager randomly turns off the eq using headphones.
no not right, DSP tells it´s turned on, but effect is missing, no changes turning it off and on again. but it will randomly turn on again sometimes.
i´m having this problem since build 18 i guess, but didn´t mention because i never did a system partition wipe to update the rom.
Now, with build 22 I did a complete wipe.
The Issue stays the same..
I found posts about DSP Manager not working at all, and post about missing eq sliders, but nothing about it working properly, just turning off sometimes..
besides this, no problems at all with this build, not even heavier battery consumption mentioned often..great rom.
You use Flinny's CM10.1 with Andromadus kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031694), don't you?
Well, I noticed similiar issues (tried only b18 yet) with headphones attached.
To my experience, Apollo is a damn thing - it randomly crashes. After a crash DSP is not working well, closing and restarting the DSP Manager sometimes solves the problem but not always.
Also, Apollo randomly opens if I enable the option to open music application on headphone contact. It looks like it is an loose connection but not on hardware side.
Do you use Apollo, too?
yes, both times.
flinnys cm 10.1 build, and apollo.
Apollo runs smooth so far. i did not see Apollo as problem part here, because its just the sound changing heavy..
i will try another Player to see if it changes...
thanks for your answer...

YouTube Issue

Has anyone had an issue with YouTube playback where the video goes "dark" (as if you brought up a menu) and then has what looks to be the Chromecast icon in the middle of the screen? It seems to happen if you start a video in portrait and then rotate your phone to landscape. I can't get it to happen every time, but it's pretty annoying. This happened with WiFi on and off with no Chromecast around.
I get that. no idea how to fix it.
Yes, I can confirm that Problem.
It always happens to me when rotating having a Bluetooth Headset connected.

Its an issue on all devices with the new youtube version. Has been posted to google and they are aware of the issue. A fix will be deployed in the future but they have indicated to turn off bluetooth connection when it happens and restart youtube.
Uninstall updates works for now until they fix it

How do: get rid of the cast icon when watching YouTube?

When I'm connected to Bluetooth speakers and watch a video on YouTube from the phone the screen gets dark and had the cast sign shows up the whole time.

I would LOVE to know this. I've found a workaround that involves:
1. Kill YouTube from recents (if you've already got the cast icon over videos)
2. Turn off BT
3. Open YouTube and start playing the video
4. Turn BT back on and connect
It's as if YouTube always assumes you're connected to a BT display?
This isn't specific to the N5. Has happened throughout the last two Youtube app updates...
Supposedly google knows.
Yeah. I think they are trying to force us to use the Chromecast.

my work around is lock your screen orientation (i.e landscape) before playing the video.
wonderful that google is ignoring this problem when there's thousands of ppl complaining about this already.
or they never use bluetooth speakers before.

Youtube fullscreen problem

Hey
Just posting here in case anyone else is having this problem and has found a solution.
The problem is that once I set a youtube video into full screen, I cant get the video player controls to appear again when tapping the screen, meaning I can't seek or pause the video unless I press back to get to the small player. This only happens on my note 12.2 and not on my other devices running the same youtube version (nexus 5 and 7).
I have rooted and flashed the near stock rom from Gatsrom and am using CivZ kernel rev3.0
Uninstalling updates to the youtube app does fix the problem though, so it looks like it might be a problem specific to the note with the latest youtube, so I was wondering if anyone else has hit on this same glitch?
This happens on CivZ rom too, with CivZ kernel or stock kernel. Probably a YouTube glitch.
I am stock non rooted and it's happening to me too..Has to be a YT issue.

The Youtube app isn't adapted to work with screensizes above 11" yet. That's why.
Essentially what happens is the app is stretched and the HUD bugs out because of it.
Must be a regression in the newest version of the app then, since it used to work fine. I've sent feedback to Google regarding this via the youtube app.
Thanks for chiming in everyone!

I hve the same issue

Same problem here.
It's really irritating! When i enter the Youtube app from a link (in chrome) and then hit the full screen button, and then i want to pause the video, i need to hit the back button but that's immediately takes me back to last app (chrome).
i found out that if I want it to stay in Youtube app, i need to: press the link (in chrome or gmail app), lower the minimized video to the right bottom side of the screen, then enlarge the screen again, after all that i can hit the full screen button and if i want to pause i can hit the back button and it will not exit the app.
Oddly enough the interface can be forced to show up in full-screen mode using the play/pause media controls command. For example if one clicks the button on a pair of headphones with a play/pause button while in full-screen mode then the video will pause and controls show up on screen. As soon as the controls fade away due to the standard interface delay they cannot be brought back by screen touch gestures but the headphones button will bring them back.
Since I'm rooted and use tons of customizations, I've set up a custom gesture in GMD gesture control to invoke the media play/pause command as a work around to this issue in YouTube until it's fixed. I now simply tap and hold 5 fingers on the screen while YouTube is playing full-screen and the video pauses and Youtube displays the player interface.

I have the same problem both on Note Pro and Tab Pro. Very irritating.

I confirm that the problem is solved with version 6. You can get it from here as I did if you don't want to wait to roll out to your country's play store.

Sound Window Won't disappear by itself

Hello There
I have a little problem with my Z5, I didn't unlocked the bootloader, or root it, I didn't do any manipulation on it (I'm waiting for a locked bootloader root cuz I want to keep my DRM Keys)
But still, I have a strange problem who appeared weeks ago.
Take a look at the picture, as you can see when I increase / decrease the sound of the system or music ect.. The upper window won't move by itself while I didn't touch the screen.
No big deal, but it's pretty annoying when I watch a video on YouTube and I have to touch the screen to move that damn window.
When I bought my Z5 ( new not a second hand) it didn't do that and it appears week ago.
If someone know the same issue or better, know how to solve it, it will be awesome, thanks everyone
What do you mean by "the upper window wont move by itself while you didnt touch the scfeen"?
You mean the volume doesnt change?
Or the window wont disappear?
Sorry im not that good in english
