Hi guys. .
I have just debranded my galaxy s6 flat. From O2 to the latest original 5.1.1 UK btu. My question is, is it absolutely necessary to do a factory reset? . Also will i require a factory reset to change my csc from O2U to BTU.? As my csc still says O2U...im unsure.
Thanks guy's. ..

I currently have Galaxy S6 G920FD. I prevously I am on 5.0.2 with CSC:GLB (Countryhilippines, Network:Globe). I successfuly flashed the French 5.1.1 ROM. Now I flashed back to my native Globe 5.1.1. Problem is the CSC is Thailand and not Globe. How do I change the CSC without root? Tried going to Recovery mode doing full cache wipe and full reset but still it sets the Thailand CSC. Thank you very much.

Hi everyone,
Before when I was still on 5.0.2 and I could not wait for 5.1.1, I updated my S6 to 5.1.1 flashing the french firmware using odin.
Because now the Belgium 5.1.1 was available on sammobile I decided to flash the Belgium firmware.
Now I have 2 CSC codes the French and the Belgium one, I expected it to be that way because I did not know how to totally wipe my phone without a custom recovery.
So my question is, how do I flash a stock firmware with odin without ending up with 2 CSC codes?
You'll have to factory reset and reboot to fix it.
That was the first thing I did.

Hello everyone.
I have a problem after changing software.
The factory software my phone was 5.1.1 Italy (vodafon) OMN, I decided to upgrade to version 5.1.1 BTU, so far so good.
But when I want to go back to the 5.1.1 Italy (Vodafone) the CSC Country was changed to SIM/Slovenia.
What should I do to change in Italy/OMN, What software should you download from sammobile?
Flash Italy firmware and do a hard reset

I write you a Private Message! Use Smart Switch
Hi,
The CSC doesn't matter regarding the system itself, it's just the "location" of your device. If you want to have the Italy CSC back though, just flash a firmware from Italy, just like you did with the BTU. I think you can find it in the SamMobile website.
I don't believe that using Smart Switch/Kies will solve your problem, since I believe it'll flash back the stock from your current CSC, which is SIM/Slovenia right?
All the best,

Hi guys,
i got a branding free Galaxy S7 and found out that i got an ATO firmware installed (phone is from Austria) so I am thinking about to upload the same firmware but in DBT (for Germany).
can this be achieved without loosing any data / apps on the phone or will this result in a factory reset?
I only want to have this regarding the OTA Android 7 update around the corner ... I guess its not really needed to be honest...
Thanks for your answers.!
André
Count on factory resetting your phone. Did mine recently and it was worth reinstalling all apps (you can use Samsung backup but it restores not all settings within all apps) just love the new nougat ?

The change you need to have done is the CSC, this can be done by flashing your desired locations CSC by flashing it through Odin while phone is on download mode. You can find CSC for your desired firmware/location by browsing on SamMobile.
When the firmware zip downloads; extract it and then when on Odin program on your PC, click on the CSC button and locate the file called 'HOME_CSC'
The reason to why you choose Home CSC is because it will keep all your data on your phone.
Good luck and tell me how it goes

Thanks mate!
Is there any well working tool for backing up data like contacts/messages/pictures just for the worst scenario?
I am aware that thate from APPs might be an issue but it like a full factory reset then ...
André
I am also stuck to the ATO open austria firmware and wondering WHY nearly all carriers here in austria got the nougat update but the open austria did not?? I thought the carriers will update later because they have to modify the firmware with their apps and logos etc..
i install btu and today i see that vodafone spain has nougat, do you know if i install vodafone spain and install super stock 2.2.0 is gonna work.

Hello, I first bought my phone from Taiwan and the CSC was pointing to BRI(Taiwan) at first but now after flashing Germany's Oreo firmware by following the xda thread, it no longer shows anything in my avaliable CSC, I'm only getting CHO(Chile) and nothing else. Is there a possible fix? I also tried flashing Taiwans firmware for nougat but still ended up with CHO service provider.
Im trying to get back to stock Taiwan firmware because they now have oreo update and supports Samsung Pay while the Germany's firmware doesn't support at all.
Also I accidentally reset my phone with Canada's Sim card in while factory resetting once.
I've attached an image of my phone's CSC info
Any help is appreciated. Thank you
EDIT: another thing I noticed was my phone model changed from SM-G955FD to SM-G955F, is there any way to get it back to FD somehow? In my settings. About phone, it does say SM-G955FD still though
If you change the 'model' of your phone via a flash, you need to flash/change the CSC with the same 'model' of the OS you used.
If it seems a bit convoluted, I'd flash back to full OEM, and make sure that is all OK, and then flash the proper CSC package.

Firmwares for SM-G955F and SM-G955FD are IDENTICAL, your model number has not changed. To change CSC I had to install FW with new CSC, then do factory reset and after first boot I got prompted whether I want to change my CSC (based on inserted SIM card), confirmed, the phone did factory reset again and got new CSC installed. Also, Canada is not included within OXM multi-CSC package as G955F/FD is not sold there (or at least not officially).

Thank you both for your help. I'll try and flash just the CSC firmware then reset when samsung decides to push the OTA again and will see if that solves it. The firmware for Taiwan came out only a few days before they took it out so didn't have a chance to download it.
