Hi guys, I read about people that can do also 10-12 hours of SOC on their device. How is it possible?

well it depends on ur usage, first and foremost. if u do a lot of gaming, have gps/BT/wifi/NFC switched on constantly or have a lot of standby time without switching on the screen then ur SOT will naturally be lower.
the 10-12h SOT that i get are on smart battery profile, powersaver cpu governor active via trickster mod, gps disabled, mobile data disabled when on wifi, wifi disabled when on the move, screen auto brightness and international firmware B162 on my AL10.
right now for example im at 26% battery left and 6h53m SOT, so that ould equate to 9.3h SOT total...

First, thank you for your reply. I'm using smart battery profile too, but I'm not using trickster mod. I don't use gps, when I use WiFi I switch off data and when I got data on I switch off WiFi. Screen brightness automatic. In your opinion, if I change firmware, will I get more SOT?
P.S : can you explain me what 'powersaver cpu governor active' does?
ive tried both the B156 chinese firmware as well as the international B133 and now B162 firmwares. what ive noticed it that with identical usage and settings, the chinese firmware actually uses way more power than the international ones. i had similar SOT values on B156 of around 7-8 hours vs. the 10-12 hours i have now on the international firmwares. 9 hours with gaming
as for the cpu governor: its the setting that controls how the cpu should regulate its clocks. u can download trickster mod in google play store, head to general subsection and there change the cpu governor to powersave, performance, ondemand, conservative, etc.... i keep it on powersave for day to day activities, that way the cpu clocks up way more seldom and only when really necessary, thus saving battery power
Will I lose warranty if I flash the international firmware? Where can I find a tutorial to install it?
just check out the different mate 8 subsections, threads pertaining to this topic are all over the place
as for warranty: ull disable it "temporarily". once u return to full stock theres nothing to worry about though.

I found general tutorials, but this is my first huawei so I'll wait something more specific
sounds like u didnt really look then
I use Chinese stock firmware and didnt do anything with the firmware, I use GPS sometimes, mobile data always on though I use wifi, do sudoku game a little bit, bbm, wa, email always on, browsing quite active, most of the day use the WLAN hotspot for my s5.
The battery longs for 10-14hrs. But sometimes it hit 8hrs too..

But my model is huawei nxt-dl00, so I can't do it. It requires L-29 or AL-10 version
ive already seen other DL00 users flashing L29 roms successfully

Hello,
So recently i've noticed the Battery performance on my Sony Xperia Z3 has become poor, I mainly use my device for socialising etc, I don't game alot. I'm currently Running Android 4.4 Kitkat (UK)
(I'm usually at home and connected to Wi-Fi)

Check if the device is constantly awake at the detailed battery information if you click on the graph.
If that's the case, search xda for "wakelock" and how to get rid of it.
An easier attempt is, to think if it's a certain app you installed recently or a change you made to your system.

Thank you for your response,
I'll Go ahead and download a Wakelock Detector By someone who works here at XDA, and i'll see if it finds anything; But as of now my battery died again; So i left it dead for 15 minutes, and now i'm charging it back to 100% with no interruptions

You could also install the ota update for lollipop and see if that automatically solves your issue. (new versions are being created to be better)
Another option is to flash the lollipop stock rom and try if that solves it. (but that's a bit more advance)
I suddenly got a similar issue - not as bad as yours but a drop in battery life. I turned off scanning even when wifi is off and turned on location based wifi and my battery life went back to normal. I'd just had a Google Play Services update and have had this issue with various play services updates in the past on other devices which is why that was one of the first solutions I tried.
Might be worth a shot if you haven't already tried it :good:
There's always Greenify.
Repair it or flash another ftf file.
Same thing here. Since I've had this when I purchased it new I've not had any good battery life. My old z2 had way better battery life and stamina mode works.

Was there any update to this matter, OP?
What brightness options are you using? (% and adaptive or not?)
Also, did you actually update it to Lollipop? Was there any problem with wakelock?
Best regards.
Network & Wake Lock
The last screenshot you posted clearly shows that the battery drain is because of your Mobile Network and a Wake Lock.
Network Signal:
As signal strength decreases, the device requires additional power resulting in battery drain.
The cost of 1 hour’s worth of calls is 150mA, assuming a strong signal
So, on a 2000mA battery, it takes 8% of total capacity (8% =150 / 2000)
This means the same 1 hour of calls could cost as much as 23% of battery life (23% = 450 / 2000)
Wake Lock:
WakeLocks are a Power Manager system Service feature, available to your applications to control the power state of the host device.
Wake Locks can be used to keep the CPU running, prevent the screen from dimming, prevent the screen from turning off, and prevent the keyboard backlight from turning off.
I used search and looked through several pages of Q&A threads and didn't see an answer to this. If I missed the thread, please point me to it and accept my apology.
I updated to check for the recall and I'll be getting a new Shield Tablet eventually but my battery life nosedived immediately after the update. I read that Lollypop has had battery issues but the only fix I seem to read about elsewhere is flashing CM which does not interest me particularly. My battery life instantly dropped from 4-6 hours to barely 2 since the update.
When I went to battery stats prior to the update, I saw all the apps that were running and after the update I only see things like "screen," "android os," "android system," and "chrome." I'll have lost 50% of the battery and battery stats will tell me that the screen has used 15%, os & system have used 5% but there aren't enough percentages to add up to either the 50% lost or 100% of used battery life. I'm not even sure how to read the stats anymore.
Is there a kernel I can flash or something to regain the battery life I had prior to the update?
Any assistance is most appreciated.

Hi
I've actually noticed the same thing, thought I had lost my mind or something. Luckily I'm getting a RMA ( faulty battery recall)
But I would really like to find a solution to this in the mean time...
Tried a factory reset?
Its all about using hardware ....

Okay so In your tablet you got 4 core
4 core means twice as much battery use because you can adjust it y dividing them to half
which is with update they made the cpus using full capacity all 4 of them
so when your not gaming or with your gaming which is it didnt show any difference to me while Im playing heartstone
settings >shield power control>my power mode enable again and customize my power mode >max cpu cores 2
then try with this and youll be allright also
another poing I would love to make and share my experience with you
So far if any of your google apps or location apps is on they draw approx 30 percent more battery
Its disgracefull I know so for that
Settings>location>off
then another thing is I come across a lot
settings > wifi >advanced options ( top of right corner 3 dots)>Scanning always available is off
:fingers-crossed:
Limiting the number of active cups is not the option. But three are other settings related to CPU which not te reduce their number but reducing their frequency first. Your room possibly is too much conservative about power usage because Android is made to used the "on demand" governor for CPU settings and assumes that there's a scheduler that will update the frequency every few seconds instead of every minute where all cups will email active for at least some time, so that it is never really idle. The exists some tools like CPU tuner that allows defining the CPU parameters and the threshold of time usage for which the usage rates can be updated down or up.

Has anyone noticed that under the shield power control --> apps , one can no longer set apps to "let Nvidia optimise it" . Only two option available, disabled or custom
Running the latest update
Anyone else?

Hi. I have moto g 3rd gen 2015. I just installed cm 12.1 osprey snapshot ROM yesterday(cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K2-osprey.zip).
I noticed that my battery is draining faster than before while everything before and now are same ..I mean apps.
After charging 100%, battery going down to 94% within 2 to 3 minutes. Only wifi is on. Rest is off...
Can anyone please help me? I love CM 12.1 customization. Dont want to go back to stock ROM
And I want to know if I install kernel blu spark, will it help me to get better battery life?
same problem with nighties too :/
My CPU runs about 10-12 degrees C hotter too. There are many ways to limit battery drain, just have to search for them.

No Hotplugging
I used to have the same problem with CM kernel. Turned out when I checked the kernel using kernel auditor, there seems to be no CPU hotplugging features which accounts for the batter drain and the high temps. Try using blue sparks kernel. Its MUCH better for battery and temps.

Yeah shouldn't be disabled in the first place
I'm on the 11/18 nightly and have battery comparable, if not better, than stock. No custom kernels. Bluetooth and wireless always on. GPS always on, device only. Standby excellent. Always used delta gapps. I deny Google data access on what I can (history, location, ect), but let sync on contacts, calendar, keep, ect. No greenify or anything like that. Email sync on auto push.
My use today at 12 hrs (730am-745pm) is 1.5hr screen on time auto brightness and slider in middle, 2 hrs playing audio through bluetooth, in an area with no cell signal for about 4hrs, maybe 30-45 mins talk time between Bluetooth and handset. Still have 75% battery left.
Edit: just checked my wife's phone (on factory firmware), unplugged for about 7 hrs. She has 1 hr 40 min screen on time and down to 77%. Not sure about usage, she might have been streaming videos or something.

wow... 12 hours and still 75% ? (((( .. maybe I have bad luck... just restored to stock... going to try RR Rom ((
The phone itself barely gets more than 5/6 hours of SOT, it's due to cellular, and newer 5G technology NOT BEING AVAILABLE IN SOME AREAS, AND NOT WITH THE SAME IMPLEMENTATION (Europe/EEUU MOSTLY)
So, for getting everything that is spected for 6000mah battery and a 5NM processor (better sot than a rog 3, around 20% better) you MUST do the following:
1 # Disable: "Phone data always active" on developer settings, search on GOOGLE how to access to developer options.
2 # Install latest WW rom from the zip on ASUS website >than .49 and do FULL WIPE.
3 # IF YOU DON'T HAVE 100% SIGNAL ON 5G, DISABLE IT, cause don't work and drain battery.
With this you SHOULD get more than 10 hours of SOT, even with 144 hz fixed.
and a lot of gaming sot also without any heat.
Just did it. Let's see if it helps. Thought I was the only one experiencing this issue
lets go try

Find build number in settings-about phone-software information and tap it 7 times to enable dev options.
Now developer options will be there in setting-system. There you will find it
What we need is a custom kernel that allows undervolting and underclocking, we could easily pull a few mV and lock the CPU to 2,2Ghz max to save MASSIVE amounts of energy.
Where is the issue? 5g always on even if Not avaiable. Mobile data always on and also double WiFi always on, localisation always on, Bluetooth always on.

How man i cant get past 4hsot in my best days
It will vary with everyone. We use our devices different. Connectivity comes into play..what apps you have..what's running in background. I average 8hrs screen time but me posting what I have done is not going to get the same results as the next person. Screen on times are great but are people actually using the device or just watching a few movies that are 1hr30min. Are they just watching YouTube videos over and over, or do they have so many things disabled what was the point to getting a flagship device. So for me I use adb app control to disable At&t bloat, use a darker wallpaper, have some apps set to not run in the background. But I do not disable a ton of stuff. But again how I use my device is not the same as the next. But a week ago I did use the crap out of the device just to see what it would do, and I did get a 9hr screen time. But again I watched a lot of YouTube
None of this means anything unless people post their settings, specifically refresh rate, resolution, brightness level (auto or other), etc.
I'm getting about the same on 5.0 as I did on 4.1. I can get 6 hours of screen on time, 1440p, 120hz, auto brightness, although I am using the extra dim feature, but auto is still checked.
If I didn't have the Facebook app I think it would be a lot better honestly but I am using it. Oh well.
That was my point everyone uses device different. I turn off 5G and use Lte because where I live it's very spotty. Brightness at about 40%

Honestly little debloating. The biggest thing on mine is I keep high refresh off and have apps that would constantly sync in the background put in deep sleep. Depending on where I'm at I'll turn off 5G. The main thing is I made sure all the T-Mobile garbage is turned off and that the actual Facebook app isn't installed. I tend to keep my brightness around ~30% as I spend the day either in my place for work, or at the gym where it isn't overly bright.
I forgot to mention I'm on an unlocked version of the phone, not a carrier variant. And every time i update my phone to a newer firmware I clear the cache. Honestly makes a huge difference.
This is me. I can not complain tbh.
27% left,only WIFI usage.
This is mine.
Power Saving on.
Full 60hz.
DNS66 full active
Routines On (Example; When I came to home, turn on WiFi, network 2g etc)
84 Application installed. 79 is deeply sleep.(except for; DNS66, WhatsApp, Telegra, Instagram, Twitter, Spotify, Firefox, Some Good Lock Apps etc)
No debloat
Dark mode on
SwiftKey dark keyboard

100% -> 15%;
*23.5h of usage;
*5h 15min SOT;
*Mostly on WiFi, but keeping network on 5G;
*120Fhz, 1080p, adaptive brightness (but I find myself turning it down manually as it goes too bright);
*Most apps which don't trigger notifications are in deep sleep as well as location turned off for them or while on only;
*Usage mostly WhatsApp, Youtube, Instagram, Browser.
