Check if the device is constantly awake at the detailed battery information if you click on the graph.
If that's the case, search xda for "wakelock" and how to get rid of it.
An easier attempt is, to think if it's a certain app you installed recently or a change you made to your system.

Thank you for your response,
I'll Go ahead and download a Wakelock Detector By someone who works here at XDA, and i'll see if it finds anything; But as of now my battery died again; So i left it dead for 15 minutes, and now i'm charging it back to 100% with no interruptions

You could also install the ota update for lollipop and see if that automatically solves your issue. (new versions are being created to be better)
Another option is to flash the lollipop stock rom and try if that solves it. (but that's a bit more advance)

I suddenly got a similar issue - not as bad as yours but a drop in battery life. I turned off scanning even when wifi is off and turned on location based wifi and my battery life went back to normal. I'd just had a Google Play Services update and have had this issue with various play services updates in the past on other devices which is why that was one of the first solutions I tried.
Might be worth a shot if you haven't already tried it :good:

There's always Greenify.

Repair it or flash another ftf file.

Same thing here. Since I've had this when I purchased it new I've not had any good battery life. My old z2 had way better battery life and stamina mode works.
Sent from my D6603 using Tapatalk 2

Was there any update to this matter, OP?
What brightness options are you using? (% and adaptive or not?)
Also, did you actually update it to Lollipop? Was there any problem with wakelock?
Best regards.

Network & Wake Lock
The last screenshot you posted clearly shows that the battery drain is because of your Mobile Network and a Wake Lock.
Network Signal:
As signal strength decreases, the device requires additional power resulting in battery drain.
The cost of 1 hour’s worth of calls is 150mA, assuming a strong signal
So, on a 2000mA battery, it takes 8% of total capacity (8% =150 / 2000)
This means the same 1 hour of calls could cost as much as 23% of battery life (23% = 450 / 2000)
Wake Lock:
WakeLocks are a Power Manager system Service feature, available to your applications to control the power state of the host device.
Wake Locks can be used to keep the CPU running, prevent the screen from dimming, prevent the screen from turning off, and prevent the keyboard backlight from turning off.

[HELP] Battery Use App has gone mad!?!

Hi folks!
I tried to search the topic before starting a new thread but I couldn't find any.
So, here's my problem. I noticed that since I flashed the stock JQ1 Gingerbread from chainfire's thread apart from everything else being fantastic, the battery use statistics in Settings -> Status -> Battery Use I can see are stranger and stranger.
First I have noticed that my the battery usage of Display had frozen to 2%. It is completely impossible, comparing it to the Froyo before, where it often went beyond 50 or even 60% of total battery usage.
Then, I saw that the Android System was taking about 90% of the stats. At first I thought it may be the infamous Gingerbread battery drain. It is not that, however, because I do not feel the battery draining any faster than before.
Then came the realization that no matter what application I am running, it does not get reflected in the Battery Use - only Android System percentage grows bigger. The funny part is that from time to time the total of all percentage goes beyond 100%
And, finally, today I unchecked the background update of the PULSE application, because I do not really use it and checking the Battery Use again what did I see. See attachment:
{

}
Not only the display category had gone away totally, but half of the battery usage is now transferred to PULSE, which I don't use.
Please, do you have any ideas how to repair that?
I am on a European Galaxy Tab, JQ1 2.3.3 Android + CF-Root v3.3 for JQ1
Not anyone experiencing the same problem? Just a little update from me. I read half the cloud already, strange but it is the first time that I cannot really find my topic in Google.
I tried what not - no result. I wiped battery stats, which only helped to the extent that the PULSE has gone from battery use stats, and display is back but the readings are stuck at 2% no matter how much I am actually using the display.
I read somewhere that it could be the kernel, where some thing may have not been allowed or switched on??? But if that was the case I would not be the only one with the same problem, but all the people that have flashed the ROM + CF Root 3.3 from chainfire's thread????
Still no ideas?
Hey guy,
Once ago I had the same problem. I don't think that pulse realy eats your battery. But we all know that the battery statistics is incorrect. So don't worry. Do use "AntTek App Manager ☆ root" (its free) to remove the puls app and wipe the cach. Or just install the overcome rom. It's much better then the Sock Rom. Trust me Because after removing of puls, there are other false statuses. I don't remember but i think it will show you that the battery is eaten by the core apps for more then 70%.
Sorry guy... I know about my terrible english
Hey odysseus84,
don't worry about your English. I am glad that you tried to be helpful. It is not that bad. After all I understood what you mean. You are right, even without Pulse in battery stats, I am still missing statistics for practically everything.
It is interesting that the Battery Use fails to record third party apps. As you can see below, the usage for all main system processes like Idle, Standby, Bluetooth, Wi-fi, Voice Calls are there. The statistics for display usage is stuck at 2% as already mentioned, which is the most annoying part.
Another interesting thing is that everything seems to be put into Android System usage, because normally it wouldn't get more than 10% of the overall battery usage share.
May I ask for other people running Gingerbread 2.3.3 to post their battery stats here?
Look. It's just a Bug. There is "Android System"written but it means the % of the Display. There is "Display" written but it means something else. As you can see on the attached pic we have almost the same "Display" usage.
And the other thing is that the statistics nothing shows with less then 2% usage.
Finally you can just accept it or flash something else.

GPS keeping apps awake, even though GPS is off and apps are greenified.

I'm having an issue where apps which require location seemingly stay awake after being greenified and killed from the recent apps. In my battery stats, it shows the gps use details going up continuously, while the CPU usage does does not.
I am running the stock ROM and trinity kernel.

I don't see the little GPS peg on the screen that would indicate GPS is being used. Is your battery dropping fast? It's either a bug in the display, or a bug in the GPS code.

It happened with me also some days back, location services were completely off but google services kept gps on, while I didn't enable it and I was able to track down the culprit, for me it was google play services. Restart fixed it for me.
I think this is another bug because same thing happened with a person who I know and for him it was facebook and for you its speedtest app.
I've noticed the service GoogleLocationManager tries to keep itself running at all times, even with locations completely disabled.

Hi, i have the same problem. Few days ago i found out that may GPS si running background even if my google location, google maps are off. I put phone into airplane mode but GPS was still running.
My nexus 5 is stock and unrooted. If i turn off/on GPS stop running.
Has anyone any solution about this problem?it seems it has to be some bug draining my battery, but if i dont root nexus i wont know wick app is draining battery?

^^^^^ this.
Set it to battery saving. A majority of the apps do not need high accuracy (active) GPS. The only time I have to enable High accuracy active GPS is when using maps/navigation (a tasker profile takes care of that for me - enable high accuracy when maps is launched, and switch to battery saving when I exit maps). Most of the other apps work just fine with battery saving location settings.
I got this issue today ( stock rooted)
After using the map and GPS for many hours, the GPS was awake even after force close the map app, and setting location off.
Rebooting the phone is the fix.

[Xperia Z3 D6603][5.0.2] battery life issues

Any help?
That's not normal.. it sucks. Will switch to LG G4 as soon as available.
how much of that was screen time using the battery?
About 3 or 4 hours max.. but I use it time to time. Wi-Fi and sometimes mobile data on cellular network.
Don't understand why the battery drain is so fast.
Stamina mode doesn't change a thing. Almost always on manual low brightness and I have to use my power bank (external battery) when I'm away.

I have the exact same issues, the phone was going very strong for the first 6 months (7-8 hrs SoT) and then it all went bad (3-4 hrs Max). I've tried MANY things and the issue seems to be **mainly** with Android OS and System (especially with mobile networks "staying active").
What kind of worked for me is:
Turn off "double tap to wake screen"
Delete any 3rd party alarm apps (clearly helped)
Turn off "Google Location History" in Google settings
Check for stuck sync
After doing all of this i got about +2hrs screen on time, but it all went bad again (even with them still off)... So I'm interested in your feedback and others' answers!
I'll try that. I assume Timely is a 3r party alarm apps?
Check out this pic.. battery discharging during the night and lost more than 20% by using it one hour (simple web browsing and stuff). I'm starting to hate this phone.
By the way, congrats for your 1st post

Yes I think we have the exact same problem, my phone discharges about 2-3% on airplane mode through the night. And as you said, my normal use means that I lose 10% to every 30 minutes of screen (under normal conditions).
Yes I mean Timely! it drained the battery on my phone and only showed up as a problem on Gsam and wakelock detector! i wouldn't have known otherwise, its disguised as Android OS or System!
Its very disappointing given that it was working very well before!
Stuck with the same problem.. and they boast about Xperia Z3 amazing battery life.. that device sucks. Switching to LG G4 as soon as available. Sony disappointed me, they failed me.
I use Timely to wake up because this app is well designed and I love the smart rise feature.
That said, Android says OS and screen process drains battery the most.

I think you should first try what I suggested for a day or two and see the results, should be an improvement, though I don't know how much...
I used timely for exactly the same thing, but as all google products these days, it drains the battery I'm really dissapointed with Google more than Sony, I have the same problems on all my lollipop devices (2 nexuses). Nothing Sony can do about it...
With flastool you can go back to KitKat if Lollipop doesn't perform good for you.
I have good experience with the .77 Version and still have a backup of it in twrp.
You have a very weak signal (the red color) which is draining battery.
Android OS is the Kernel.
Use better battery stats which is free here from xda.
Also check app permissions of your installed apps.
And a calibration of the battery may help.
With full auto brightness and mixed 3G/wifi browsing and listening to music via Bluetooth or headset I have 6h Display on in 2 or 3days on Lollipop.
But prerooted / debloated / tweaked Rom .690 with good signal.
I know the signal is bad and is a cause I'm my case. I was living in Germany for a few months and got around 7h over 2 days, it halved when I moved back to jordan. However it's still getting worse, noticeably since I turned off and uninstalled many things (it got better for 2 days *6hr and then went back to bad *3-4hr). But still the point is why buy a smartphone if you have to turn off everything just to get it through the day. The problem is that you get the feeling that no matter what you do with the phone it still drains (which looks like a system or app issue because it does even when I'm only using Wi-Fi or even 3/4g on full signal)...
Well there is no magic button to improve the battery life.
Yes there is, Airplane Mode.

Something is messing my battery up.

While using Twitter or any app, my battery goes down at least 4-5%. I can't get decent battery on this.
I have the Verizon edition.

It is pretty new. I didn't think that would effect anything. I guess I will let it have some cycles then.
I have some ideas that might be able to get the problem solved. I would first try turning off your phone for 5-10 minutes since it might be overheating. Then I would uninstall any new apps that you might have installed since you can remember the battery drain starting. There is a small chance you might be experiencing some battery drain issues from a third party app that caused a virus. Its also a good idea to get a security app like avg since its free. Other then that you might also want to check that your phone is not completely full on storage, and also consider turning off the facebook app since it can cause some serious battery drain issues as well. I think thats pretty much it if you want to get rid of facebook on your galaxy s7 here is how to do it. and it will really help with your battery life
I had the same kind of battery drain on my Sprint variant. A factory reset quickly fixed that issue for me.

So I used it up for a day and let it die completely. Charged it right back up and now its pretty bad today. These are screenshots from when I made it die.
I did disable Facebook. The Android System and Screen are using the most up right now. It went down about 7% for being almost idle. I used Twitter once.
Possible Solution to the DRAIN!
Ok, so I've had the same issues as you. My findings are as per Gsam Battery Monitor:
1. High Android OS and Android System usage~ 20-30%
2. High Phone Radio ~ 40% at times
3. Overnight drain of at least 4% (stanbby drain)
4. Screen usage 'while off' higher than 'while on'
This was frustrating and is as mentioned by other users to be a bug from updates and related to charging.
SOLUTION:
Today Gsam reports my Android OS and Android System usage and Phone Radio at 10% and below.
All i did was...
1. Let it drain to about 90% after charge.
2. Restart the phone.
3. Then plug in the micro USB to USB connector (the one that comes with the phone) with a flash drive attached and play a song/short video.
4. Unplug and enjoy great battery life.
This worked for me so it's worth a try. Will test a full charge soon and hopefully it doesn't require the steps above every time to stop the drain.
btw I'm NOT rooted, using LTE.........wifi,bluetooth, AOD and locations all off.

Question Huge battery drain when sleep tracking after updating to R860XXU1CUJ2

Hey there. I am noticing a big battery drain on my GW 4 40MM Bluetooth when I am going to sleep, for example last night I've gone to sleep with 83% of battery left and in the middle of the night the watch died, the same thing the night before. Normally I would get about 20-25% loss with previous firmware
This problem started after I updated to R860XXU1CUJ2. The strange thing is that I am not noticing bad battery life when I wear the watch in the day (maybe a little more draining compared to previous firmware), also note that I am just using regular sleep tracking not O2 or snore detection even though I have used this options with the previous firmware and still I had battery when I woke up.
Does anyone else has big battery drains when sleep tracking and also is there an official site where I can make a ticket?
Thanks!

I would say you've got your answer. If you have enabled the option to continue receiving notifications via wifi or lte then turning off Bluetooth will inevitably use wifi all the time and result in high battery drain, most probably...
CUJ2 version as well, 28% battery drain during the night. I just left the watch on my table. No sleep tracking. No wifi. No app listed under battery usage. Nice!
Is there a way to get more details on battery consumption?

I agree with DaReDeViL. You have your answer. Why do you turn off BT and leave on wifi? Wifi uses significantly more power. I'm on newer DUJA but I saw no issues with CUJA which I ran for several weeks. I have sleep tracking on without O2 or snore detection. I don't have BT or wifi on when I sleep though. I have no desire to get notifications when I sleep, I want to sleep. I actually use bedtime mode when I sleep. I loose between 4 - 6 % of battery when I sleep (I average about 7 hours). This has remained fairly consistent with every update.
