[Completed] No boot. No Recovery. No USB...? - XDA Assist

In another part of this forum, user baha76, previously posted:
"Lucky patcher app is a cracking app that is not welcomed here and against the roles of xda forum.
But if you went this app to get rid of the odex files, there is another simple method by using any file manager (like root manager) then go to data\app or system\app and search for the "xxx.odex" of your app that had a problem then delete it (it's safe to delete it) then reboot.
This is the same method that lucky patcher did it to get rid of the odex file.
Thanks"
------------
So (and i know, i messed up) I Deleted all of .odex files with fx root explorer in the main system root folder… phone now starts to boot and gets stuck on android screen and stays there.
So far no recovery options will come up,
And all attempts to connect via usb have failed.
I do have proper drivers installed.
And I have tried doing a hard reset (phone resets, android recovery robot image with open access panel on chest with "DELETING" flashes briefly, then the phone resets again, back to square 1. does not continue to loop.)
I realize i did not follow baha76's directions precisely, and would like to know if anyone can help me restore my phone, or at least tell me if i have completely ruined it?
It's an LG G Stylo from cricket.
It is rooted (via kingroot)
as mentioned, last known activity before loss of file system access was me deleting ALL .odex file found in a search of system root folder using fx root explorer.
thanks in advance for any replies

HELP!!

I rooted my phone with kingroot and while i was using the extra rope, i hung myself. The settings.apk in my phone has become somehow damaged, and will not open. The .apk still exists, but every time i try to open settings (directly or otherwise) it closes with a pop-up saying: unfortunately settings has stopped. I also tried to replace kinguser with superSU and failed leaving myself with confusing root access that is only revealed when certain apps like varied root checkers tell me i'm rooted.
I cannot install non market apps because when settings became damaged, the box was unchecked. All i need is to be able to fix the settings.Apk. I don't have a computer and i can't update superSU binary. I have factory reset my device and tried to find solutions onlinen to no avail. I can access the hidden menu and terminal emulator without root. I need to be able to enable non market installation some how. Can anyone help me?

[Completed] Unroot

I am at a complete loss.
I have supposedly unrooted per SuperSU, Root Checker, TWRP and other apps HOWEVER xposed and Play Services still thinks I am rooted.
I have cleared the cache and dalvik cache but still same thing.
Soooo, I browsed to xbin, bin and app and removed all of the SU and SuperUser and BusyBox files.
Bam, no more root.
I still have a question/need help, so please don't close.
In the future, how can I easily remove root since SuperSU - Full Unroot option didn't appear to work?
Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Depending on your device, there are dedicated threads to unroot your device so i suggest following those. Also asking for help in that dedicated thread or device section is more advisable. If you want, i can link you to your section if you give me your device model
But usually that full unroot button and deleting the files is enough

[Completed] [Rooted] ZTE ZMax Metro PCS

After a days of modding with Xposed Framework my ZTE ZMax it has came out to look nearly Brand new (As in UI) but because of the rooting process and the restrictions of the phone /system is a read-only and can only be edited in Recovery. Bloatware from Metro PCS still remains on the phone, I found a post on XDA that has a flashable zip to remove system apps (link below) and after editing the file to remove the apps that I want. Although I have only flashed things onto the the system (SuperSU and a boot animation). I have never removed anything from the /system on this phone and what I would like to know is what are the risks of using a flashable zip file to remove system apps instead of a application from Google Play (I've tried this several times and I have tried mounting /system as Read-Write and nothing works).
Apps I plain to remove: MetroZone, Metro411, MetroAppStore, MetroBlockIt, MetroZone, VirtualVoiceMail and MyMetro
After looking through a few Uninstaller apps from Google Play none of them say any of the apps listed above are essential to the phone. (There not even listed as a Should Keep applications).
If no information can be found about my device then I would request to know if it's safe to use Recovery to remove apps. Thank you.

[MOD] Google Phone -Manual Install-Not for beginners

**CONTINUE AT YOUR OWN RISK**
**I ASSUME YOU KNOW HOW TO SAFELY NAVIGATE /SYSTEM & ADJUST FILES AND THEIR PERMISSIONS**
This is a write up on how to install and use the stock Google Phone app.
Yes there are simpler ways to achieve something similar. There are a few developers on xda who have patched the Google Phone app so you don't have to do the following.
I personally enjoys the harder things in life. Along with just jumping on Apkmirror and installing any new updates to the phone app without waiting for someone to patch it.
Google Play Store won't allow you to find or update (as far as I know) the Google Phone app unless your phones identifies itself to the store as a pixel. If you did manage to get your hands on the apk it'll fail to install.
(I've seen a few magisk modules that will work)
However thanks to Apkmirror and the opengapps GitHub you could get around this.
First you need to get the files that the Google Phone app requires to be within the /system partition.
com.google.android.dialer.support.xml
com.google.android.dialer.support.jar (I use API 27)
The .xml goes in /system/etc/permissions with root permissions and the .jar goes in /system/Framework also with root permissions.
So either use your favorite root file manager, TWRP, adb, and place the files in their respective location and adjust the permissions. I personally either use TWRP or adb and adjust the permissions via the chmod 0644 command on the files.
Once you have verified the files are where they belong and have the correct permissions. Install the apk, set it as the default phone app and enjoy. (Adjust all permissions to your liking)
https://github.com/opengapps/all/tree/master/
View the code and find the files.
Thank you GitHub, Opengapps, and who ever uploads the files to Apkmirror.
Information I gathered over the years and random old xda threads. Also serves as a post I can reflect back on two months from now when I forget again.
ENJOY and don't do something if you don't understand, accept responsibility for your own actions because I won't for you. Go explore the wonders of learning Linux, and have plenty of backups to fix your non fatal mistakes.
It works great, thanks!

You could use Magisk an PIX3LIFY module, it should do all that for you...
Anyway, does Google Phone work just fine without any crash? Because I have Android Oreo 8.0 on my HTC 10 and I've tried to get Google Phone working but it crashes when you give contacts permissions and access your call history or the dialer keypad. Do you not have these problems on your U12+ with Android Oreo 8.0?

Works fine for me, no issues.
In the past ive seen it crash from either wrong file permissions or incorrect framework or xml file.
I changed phone and It works great on the Rog Phone too. No crashes at all.
Hi. Newbie here. Want to install the Google dialer on wife's HTC U12+ but the link is dead? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Happy wife happy life?

Removing System App

Hi,
There is a file on my phone which I want to remove called "OPYellowpage.apk". I see this file via FX File Explorer.
I prefer to do that without rooting my device (loots of work and I don't want to mess things up, + I have the latest oxygen version so I think it might be a problem).
I searched the file via adb and found out, when I searched 'yellow', that it is related to com.oneplus.bugreportlite (or something like that...). I uninstalled this library but I still can see the "OPYellowpage.apk" via FX File Explorer, just as I still see a folder called "OPBugReportLite" and a file called "OPBugReportLite.apk".
Did I actually deleted it? why do I still see these files? Is there a way to uninstall them without rooting (and wiping the device in the proccess) and, if the answers are 'no', what is the easiest way to root, if possible on this oxygen version?
Many Thanks!
PS
I'm a new user so I couldn't open this thread under other more suitable forum, so I appreciate your understanding.
