[Completed] Unroot - XDA Assist

I am at a complete loss.
I have supposedly unrooted per SuperSU, Root Checker, TWRP and other apps HOWEVER xposed and Play Services still thinks I am rooted.
I have cleared the cache and dalvik cache but still same thing.

Soooo, I browsed to xbin, bin and app and removed all of the SU and SuperUser and BusyBox files.
Bam, no more root.
I still have a question/need help, so please don't close.
In the future, how can I easily remove root since SuperSU - Full Unroot option didn't appear to work?

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Depending on your device, there are dedicated threads to unroot your device so i suggest following those. Also asking for help in that dedicated thread or device section is more advisable. If you want, i can link you to your section if you give me your device model
But usually that full unroot button and deleting the files is enough

Answers:-
1. Uninstalling of superuser with clean Unroot will Remove Root Binary from System and will effect Root, as without SU app you cant play with Root..
2. No, You Can't.
3. No they won't Function. You can uninstall Root apps if they are in System Folder other you will be able to uninstall.

But tell me one more thing what superuser does.. i think superuser app only gives the permission to the root apps to install something in root area.. right? superuser app work is just to allow or deny the permission to the app right..?
So if i don't unroot my phone and if i just simply remove superuser app then i still should be able to install root apps in the root? because my phone is rooted.. and i have just removed superuser app which gives permission only.
I think superuser only gives the permission to the app SO apps will be intall in the root just without any permission of superuser?? this is what superuser does ONLY?
I think i am misunderstanding something about superuser.. Correct me please if i am wrong.. :good:

Yes,
It gives permissions to access, modify your Root area[Restricted when you are Non-Rooted].
No,
Removing SU app will remove permissions with It. So after that you cant use those Rooted app which you gave Permissions when u had SU App.
Note:- Without any SU app you can't Play your System Files..
nor your rooted apps will work..

S4 mk2 i337 soft bricked...
This is the link I started dealing with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565758
Problem is, I uninstalled a system file or two...or 15...and now the phone will start up, but no apps show up, just black screen. I can navigate still and work around it, but what i CAN'T do is give permission to that batch file once it recognizes the phone.
Obviously, I didn't know what I was doing, so I didn't realize that unrooting it wouldn't solve the problem, so I need to root, and then somehow get my system files back in place. Titanium Backup says my back up doesn't exist...pretty frustrated, I've spent 10+ hours on this site and some others trying to get back in, so I apologize upfront for possibly missing a post elsewhere

[Completed] [Q] Outdated or missing SU binary???

I'm a big noob when it comes to rooting.
So I just rooted my Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360, following the instructions on this website:
www .android.gs/root-galaxy-y-s5360
I rebooted my system after completing all the steps and I do have the superuser app! However, when I opened it for the first time, I was notified that my SU binary was outdated. So I went on the playstore, and manually updated superuser as well as downloaded superSU, thinking it would solve the program.
After this, I stopped getting the notification, but when I try to open SuperSU, it says: "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem" When I press OK, it closes the app, so I cannot even access SuperSU's settings.
Next, I tried downloading Titanium Backup to see if that would somehow solve anything, but when I open it says it cannot acquire root privileges.
I've just downloaded root checker and it says as well that I do not have proper root access!!!
Am I rooted or not? What can I do to fix this? I just want to be able to delete bootloader apps to clear some space on my device and maybe use apps like Titanium Backup or Clockwork Recovery!
Hi,
You can use this guide and ask for help in the thread also,
Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 > Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General > [Tutorial][HowTo] Root Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360
I think you've missed a step.
Good luck!
I've just read the guide you attached and it doesn't really seem like I have missed anything!
Would there be a way to somehow reroot my phone? As in delete the update file from my sd card and then try another one... I'm starting to think maybe it had something to do with a bad update file that I used, although I'm not sure...
Did you ask in the thread above? It would be the best place to find help. ?

YES, SOMEONE RESPONDED BY SAYING THIS:
Don't use supersu - The playstore version doesnt work very well with our phone
Use superuser by chainsdd
Uninstall any superuser app and flash my zip in cwm with system mounted
(url that he posted but that im not allowed to paste as a new member)
You can check if your phone is rooted either by using an app that requires root permissions or by using a root checker app from playstore
If you aren't finding the help you need in that thread, you can start a new thread in your devices Q&A section, here,
> Legacy & Low Activity Devices > Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 > Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Please note the stickies at the top of the Assist section. XDA Assist is here to help members navigate the site, not for support.
Thank you for understanding.
So, essentially he's telling me to uninstall super user?
And then how do I reinstall with CWM?
I'll ask in the thread as well, but you know it never hurts to ask twice
Yes, please ask the kind Recognized Contributer in that thread trying to help.
And I've given you the Q&A link for your device for all future use.
Thank you, thread closed.

[Completed] Help! Need to switch from one superuser to another

So, It's been a month since I've rooted my phone
I rooted through Kingoapp.com, and it was easy
My OS is Android 4.4.2 KitKat and as the title says,
I want to change from my Kingo Superuser to any other,
Like a normal superuser or SuperSU.. It's because Kingo Superuser
Won't let me use apps like lucky patcher, AdAway etc
I've tried many methods, changing to SuperSU, but its binaries fails
To download, and the other superuser app just sits there, doesn't ask for
Permissions and stuff... That's why I wanna change my superuser app
Any help or effort will be greatly appreciated
Hi
(SuperSU) I suggest you to have a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/support-update-failures-t2907365

[Completed] Can i root by adding supersu/superuser as a system app

im trying to make a custom rom for the samsung note 8 (n5110) and i cant find a way to add root to it so i thought making superuser/supersu a system app could do it? if it cant plz tell me a way or link a thread
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you mean you are trying to make a stock rooted Odin flashable ROM by adding superSU as a system app then no, you can't do it that way, that's is a part of the process if it can be added that way on your device, there is more involved in the process also but that doesn't work for all Samsung devices. There are things about Samsung bootloader, Knox and qfuse that can prevent this from working on some Samsung devices.
If you are making a custom ROM like all the other ROMs at XDA then yes, you can add the superuser binaries to the system/xbin folder and then place the superSU apk in the system/app folder and it should work.

[Completed] [Rooted] ZTE ZMax Metro PCS

After a days of modding with Xposed Framework my ZTE ZMax it has came out to look nearly Brand new (As in UI) but because of the rooting process and the restrictions of the phone /system is a read-only and can only be edited in Recovery. Bloatware from Metro PCS still remains on the phone, I found a post on XDA that has a flashable zip to remove system apps (link below) and after editing the file to remove the apps that I want. Although I have only flashed things onto the the system (SuperSU and a boot animation). I have never removed anything from the /system on this phone and what I would like to know is what are the risks of using a flashable zip file to remove system apps instead of a application from Google Play (I've tried this several times and I have tried mounting /system as Read-Write and nothing works).
Apps I plain to remove: MetroZone, Metro411, MetroAppStore, MetroBlockIt, MetroZone, VirtualVoiceMail and MyMetro
After looking through a few Uninstaller apps from Google Play none of them say any of the apps listed above are essential to the phone. (There not even listed as a Should Keep applications).
If no information can be found about my device then I would request to know if it's safe to use Recovery to remove apps. Thank you.
