After a days of modding with Xposed Framework my ZTE ZMax it has came out to look nearly Brand new (As in UI) but because of the rooting process and the restrictions of the phone /system is a read-only and can only be edited in Recovery. Bloatware from Metro PCS still remains on the phone, I found a post on XDA that has a flashable zip to remove system apps (link below) and after editing the file to remove the apps that I want. Although I have only flashed things onto the the system (SuperSU and a boot animation). I have never removed anything from the /system on this phone and what I would like to know is what are the risks of using a flashable zip file to remove system apps instead of a application from Google Play (I've tried this several times and I have tried mounting /system as Read-Write and nothing works).
Apps I plain to remove: MetroZone, Metro411, MetroAppStore, MetroBlockIt, MetroZone, VirtualVoiceMail and MyMetro
After looking through a few Uninstaller apps from Google Play none of them say any of the apps listed above are essential to the phone. (There not even listed as a Should Keep applications).
If no information can be found about my device then I would request to know if it's safe to use Recovery to remove apps. Thank you.

Had a precious post on this. I am not sure what to do after the installation of Framaroot. All I want to do is to be able to get to the boot files and eliminate one file on bootup on my ZTE Z740. Is there a way to do this? I have verified the install with root checker. I am new to this so please have patience with me. Thank you.

Hmm ... if I understand you correctly, you want to diable the autostart of a special app on system boot.
Then please check the XDA Xposed Tuesday: App Startup Control with BootManager – XDA Developer TV. For this you will need to install Xposed framework (via Xposed installer) first, and grant it root access.
Or you can use another app to manage the autostarts of your apps, such as Autostarts, System Tuner/Android Tuner, etc. And grant the app root access after first start.
BTW ... here is another thread askign for the same thing: A way to *prevent* some apps from running at startup? (not killing nessiarily)
Installed those apps
Have installed Xposed and Bootmanager. Am not getting file files exposed that I am looking for. Just getting some of the files I had previously installed. How can I get to the system files?

Here is the Xposed module thread: [APP][4.0.3+ & GB][XPOSED] BootManager.
To manage the system apps, you need the donate version.
Alternatively you may use one of the other apps I listed in my previous post.

Boot up tune
Looks like I finally got rid of it. I uses an app, Rom Box Lite on the play store. Was able to get to the files (bootup.mp3) deleted it and hurray!, gone!

Thanks for letting me know. Thread closed.
I am at a complete loss.
I have supposedly unrooted per SuperSU, Root Checker, TWRP and other apps HOWEVER xposed and Play Services still thinks I am rooted.
I have cleared the cache and dalvik cache but still same thing.
Soooo, I browsed to xbin, bin and app and removed all of the SU and SuperUser and BusyBox files.
Bam, no more root.
I still have a question/need help, so please don't close.
In the future, how can I easily remove root since SuperSU - Full Unroot option didn't appear to work?
Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist.
Depending on your device, there are dedicated threads to unroot your device so i suggest following those. Also asking for help in that dedicated thread or device section is more advisable. If you want, i can link you to your section if you give me your device model
But usually that full unroot button and deleting the files is enough
im trying to make a custom rom for the samsung note 8 (n5110) and i cant find a way to add root to it so i thought making superuser/supersu a system app could do it? if it cant plz tell me a way or link a thread
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
If you mean you are trying to make a stock rooted Odin flashable ROM by adding superSU as a system app then no, you can't do it that way, that's is a part of the process if it can be added that way on your device, there is more involved in the process also but that doesn't work for all Samsung devices. There are things about Samsung bootloader, Knox and qfuse that can prevent this from working on some Samsung devices.
If you are making a custom ROM like all the other ROMs at XDA then yes, you can add the superuser binaries to the system/xbin folder and then place the superSU apk in the system/app folder and it should work.

"Lucky patcher app is a cracking app that is not welcomed here and against the roles of xda forum.
But if you went this app to get rid of the odex files, there is another simple method by using any file manager (like root manager) then go to data\app or system\app and search for the "xxx.odex" of your app that had a problem then delete it (it's safe to delete it) then reboot.
This is the same method that lucky patcher did it to get rid of the odex file.
Thanks"

So (and i know, i messed up) I Deleted all of .odex files with fx root explorer in the main system root folder… phone now starts to boot and gets stuck on android screen and stays there.
So far no recovery options will come up,
And all attempts to connect via usb have failed.
I do have proper drivers installed.
And I have tried doing a hard reset (phone resets, android recovery robot image with open access panel on chest with "DELETING" flashes briefly, then the phone resets again, back to square 1. does not continue to loop.)
I realize i did not follow baha76's directions precisely, and would like to know if anyone can help me restore my phone, or at least tell me if i have completely ruined it?
It's an LG G Stylo from cricket.
It is rooted (via kingroot)
as mentioned, last known activity before loss of file system access was me deleting ALL .odex file found in a search of system root folder using fx root explorer.
thanks in advance for any replies

Earlier today I successfully rooted my phone and uninstalled a bunch of bloatware. Foolishly, I also uninstalled the Samsung keyboard (figuring I only use the Swype keyboard) which I now suspect it is used to enter my pin when turning the phone on. Now I can't get past the pin entry because the keypad does not show up. Is there anyway to reinstall the app in this situation?

You can get a copy of the .apk file and then boot to TWRP, then use adb to sideload the .apk to /system/app or /system/priv-app (wherever it was at before you deleted it).
Or you can reflash your stock firmware or custom ROM if you're using one.

I flash magisk.zip but it is normal app not system app
Magisk is a 3rd-party-app. Take note that a system-app is necessary part of Android OS. And Magisk isn't.

Not quite right, when a 3rd party user app is installed or pushed to system, it then becomes a system app. The term "system app" refers to any app that is in the system partition, it has nothing to do with whether the app is a necessary part of the OS. Stock system apps, or, at least, "some" of them can be considered to be necessary parts of the OS but this isn't completely true because a lot of devices come pre-installed with non essential bloatware apps in the system partition. These non essential bloatware apps can be removed via root or by adb on non rooted devices because they are not necessary parts of the system.
For me a "system app" is - as already mentioned - an app that comes pre-installed in Android ROM's one of the partitions /system/app or /product/app or /product/overlay or /vendor/app, is a "system app" an app that is intended for the functioning of the Android device.
Your admission to this view of mine does not change my opinion.
private app is also a system app but seems to be an add-on. and i flashed the zip but it was not set as a system app, it seems the zip is not related to install like the system in twrp, and twrp mounted the system but couldn't delete any folder in. rooted but so bad!
