Has anyone in the UK managed to find where they are selling the silver version of the S7 or S7 edge?
Thanks

Okay thanks for letting me know, it'll have to be black then
Random question. On the samsung website the gear vr comes up as a 'paid' accessory - I thought it was supposed to be free if you pre-order?

Why is Europe being punished again? Do people at Samsung think customers in Europe don't want to buy silver phones? Not getting the S7 Edge because I cannot get it in silver (only colour I liked). Honestly really stupid decision once again from Samsung.

Yes I noticed this also.
Also, I'm wondering if the gold version = gold platinum?

No gear vr as a free gift just rugby pen. Just preordered s7 edge.

A rugby pen? What's that?
Did you order off the samsung UK website? During the keynote they said the free gear vr was applicable to Europe

Afaibt - as far as i have been told. It is free with all contract pre orders of the s7/s7 edge, so not sim free devices.

UK and Europe only black and Gold, which is quite crap iio, as I wanted a silver one but buying from another country means no warranty.
So black it has to be.

I thought the samsung website only sold Sim free?

This was actually the first time I would have preorder a phone but now I learnt that you only get the vr headset when you get a contract I'm getting second thoughts. Why punish people who are willing to buy the phone outright?

Must be a country-thing as I pre-ordered and got the free gear vr deal (not on a contract).

Are you sure about that ? I Sweden you can preorder the S7 and the S7 Edge in Black, Gold and White.

The silver version is available for pre-order in France on the s7 edge. I bought the gold one though.
UPDATE: Nervermind it's not the silver version, it's the white version.
Available colours are Black, White and Gold.
The gear VR is also given to people who pre-order it.

Will the Galaxy S7 UK version have the Snapdragon or Exynos soc?

I spoke with the Samsung UK Web Store support guys and they told me that you don't get the VR in the UK but if you call and complain they have started an internal petition where they add anyone's name who calls. I'm guessing if there's enough interest this will change.

Just bought my note 3 4G unlocked, i think its louder than my note 2 :)

YEY so today i just bought my brand new 4G note 3 and it is unlocked, i had to pay an extra 200 riyals for it but its ok im not worried of bringing it outside the middle east now.
now i read some of the threads here mentioning about the speakers, but comparing it wth the note 2 side by side i didnt notice any dfference at all! both were (embarrassingly lol) LOUD but i think note 3 is slightly louder. or maybe i was preparing myself for an awful speaker but i was surprised at how loud it was.
the only two things i noticed it paled to the note 2 was the difficulty in detaching the s-pen and i think the note 2 was more solid built than the note 3, but the rest the note 3 just is unmatched, happy owner so far :good::good:
but sadly until now no gear here in saudi arabia i fear it will never come....

I have both and loudness is the same. The N3's speaker produces thinner sound with less detail. Personally, since I rarely use the external speaker, I could care less.
GSMArena's testing...
speaker is more than good enough, stop worrying about the nitpicking you read online, some of these people will complain about anything.

Yes sir as mentioned by another member, I think Tunisia is in the same region as KSA (i.e Middle East). Thanks for the info though. Keep us updated if you use your phone outside anywhere else like Asia or Europe.

I think the N3 sold in Malaysia, Hong Kong etc. is the 16 GB SM-N9005 Snapdragon model.
I have been using Note 2 and it was average but note 3's sound, sound quality and speakers are not satisfying for me.

Gear S2 Classic 3G Model SM R735S

Has anyone purchased the 3G Classic Edition? I'm thinking of selling my existing Classic and purchasing the 3G as I miss the speaker function. I didn't even know there was a 3G version coming out in the Classic model?

G D it!!! Why?!?!?!?
Anyone have any idea why they did this? Fer gawds sake, I bought a 3G, because that functionality was important. I would have definitely paid MORE to get a classic 3G version.
WTF is wrong with the marketing people in these companies? Don't they want to make money? Since they're already making it, it's not like the cost to sell it here too is prohibitive.

Samsung did this for the same reason companies do anything: profit. My guess is they figured they wouldn't sell enough in other markets to make enough money. They maybe wanted to focus marketing efforts rather than flood the market with devices like they have done before. Who knows exactly. What I do know is that Samsung would have released this to a wider market if they thought it would increase their net revenue.

Sorry but i failed to find REAL picture and REAL size of this model, i think real size is 44x47x13,4 but i can't know if it is true, and about the weight ??? some say 67g and other 55 ect, if somebody could shows us picture of the SM R735S versus S2 classic, it could be very usefull,
on ebay some spec say the SM R735 have the same size of the S2 classic !!!! lol if it is true i take it now ^^
i hope somebody will post picture ... Thanks.
I'm currently in South Korea and I think I've seen enough to answer the why question. New tech is really popular here even among older people; they probably sell more smart watches here than in the US so the cost of offering more models in that market just isn't appealing.

I wonder how different/same the "guts" are from the 3G swatchlikeversion? Is it possible (please!) they are the same, and could just be swapped into a classic 3G case, simply having to hook up the digitizer and bezel (and probably display too)?
This could be a way to get a completely "compliant", functioning, US carrier 3G classic. Likely expensive, but hell, I've wasted so much on smartwatches already that dropping another US$100-150 to make this damn thing the way I want it is thinkable.
EDIT: Check out this this picture:
It certainly looks entirely possible the design may accomodate swapping parts. Heck, it may take nothing more than swapping the logic board between the two watches.
Then, the regular 3G version becomes a Korean unit; sell it on ebay.
Tempted to order one just to try this out here in the US, and if it doesn't work, and the 3G classic can't get on to Verizon (I would think it could, technically, but will Verizon allow it?), then I can just resell it on ebay and eat some loss.
This is probably net-net the most economical approach, rather than trying to but replacement parts.

G955F or G955U?

the pre-order for unlocked G955U is avaliable and I'm struggling whether to get an international version of G955F or US unlocked version G955U.
I know the CPU difference and I guess it should not be noticeable in daily use, but is there any other differences that I should bear in mind? I care about the rootability and OS updates
This is pretty obvious choice if you care about root as long as you dont use verizon or sprint the choice is international for sure
Yep, Exynos unlocked Bootloader! Party on XDA!

955U is a waste of money
Easy choice if your on a GSM network

G955U is not worth it. The General consensus is that there will be no proper root or unlocked bootloader at best it will be buggy. Which carrier are you with?
Mean while the G955F is already has TWRP, Custom Roms and Root.
Thanks for the replies, I'm using AT&T, so the carrier is not a problem, and acctually I also prefer the international version.
There's a good pre-order deal for G955U and G955U also has the warranty, that's the reason why I'm thinking about G955U

B&H is a good choice for me, although I found some cheaper options from ebay, but I feel B&H is safer.
I only use Samsung pay occasionally, but that's just because the deal they provide, and acctually it's not widely acceptable in many stores.
As for red tint, I guess it should be fixed by the OS update?

I know this thread is old, but the U variant (snapdragon) handles game emulation a lot better than the Exynos models, if that is your sort of thing.

Hong Kong vs UK

Hi.
I am travelling to HK next week and thinking of picking ip the HTC U 11 +. Will there be any differences to a UK version that would be reason not to purchase in HK. Thanks Dan
Great idea. I should visit Hong Kong too.

I've read that the UK version will get 6GB ram bump up from 4GB and 128GB storage over 64GB elsewhere so if you see one look out for a 6GB version.
Only 6GB ram version is sold in HK
Do you know if the radios will be any different?
I am also interested in this, particularly if a HK handset will covered by HTC UK warranty?
If you guys want buy in Hong Kong, I am happy to assist you.

Thank you, I appreciate your offer mate. I'm interested in purchasing a HK version, though am wondering
1) Can I change all settings to English
2) Are the radios for the HK version compatible with Vodafone 3G and 4G networks here in Australia

Yes, it can fully display English as UI and I think there is problem to work with your network in AU.

The U11+ selling in Hong Kong are eligible for local warranty only, so think before you buy.
Thanks for responses I have picked one up in HK. Radios should be all good. Warranty is local but I knew that before purchasing.
Love the phone so far. Some great battery life after day 1.
How to buy U11+ in Hong Kong?
Please send me the answer. Thanks.
I really need U11+ in my life!

Are there no pre order freebies in the UK?

As title says, usually when you pre order a flagship phone from Samsung you get some kind of free item, but can't find anything. Got the Samsung buds free with the S10+. Can't find anything with the Note 10.

No freebies, for now at least
Nothing noted with my pre-order just an extra £100 with any trade in I do (which I won't be doing) shame but still
Where can we purchase the international version from the US please?

Samsung is only interested in the US. I guess that's where they also gets a bulk of their customers..

Are you sure you want to? I thought the exynos versions don't work in US carriers that's why they use snapdragons? If you do want one I'd imagine ebay or one of the Chinese sites like gearbest would be your best bet.

Verizon told me they will support it gsm but as to whether it will ever do CDMA, i don't know. I think i need to get the latin verson exynos note 10 for that.
Are you looking for the exynos so you have root capability?
Edit: just done a bit of digging and you may be OK with att and tmobile but verizon and sprint can only work on CDMA.

I'm not really sure to be honest. I'm sure the dev community will have it cracked already though. I don't bother these days as I know it can limit some features and android is as open as I need it to be. I'd prefer the snapdragon variant but I'd have to go through the hassle of importing it and sacrifice the warranty and on an £1100 device its just not worth it for me personally

I can understand that but I am sending mine back for the same reason, I forgot the SD855 is very unlikely to get root.
Nah. Nothing. The s10+ was an outlier since the last pre order bonus in the UK was the dex thing for the note 8.
A work colleague got free buds with the s10e. I think it sucks how Samsung treats UK customers compared to elsewhere. I've been an avid note customer since day one and in all that time received a couple of free charging pucks and a GearVR (from Carphonewarehouse).
