System.IMG update - LG G Flex 2

I feel a little stupid asking this but it's been quite a while since I actually flashed an img.
Basically my question is, can I just flash a system.img instead of using ota updates?
I know I can use LG up to downgrade my firmware with a kdz but I haven't seen a kdz for the latest firmwares.

Yes You can flash system image but not messed up versions of it. Which version and which model You have?

I have h955, whenever I wipe I go back to 10B and just OTA update to 15C.
It takes about 90 mins to update and restore my apps, flashing a system.img will cut that time in half.

In case anyone needs it, here is a clean system.img from the 10e firmware, courtesy of phineous

This is not pre-rooted and should only be flashed if you are already on the 10e firmware. Do not flash this if you are on 10g as it will likely result in a soft brick.
Directions for flashing are in the general g4 > original dev > codefire root thread.
The aforementioned thread for convenience.
Thanks for this.
I have searched but have not came across a root version of 10e. Is there one?

Here's the post with the root script for injecting root into the images. I'm sure the script works fine, but I couldn't get it to run on the system I set up. It's probably a permission issue that I don't have right, but I'm too busy to figure it out now.
Anyone have a 10g stock system image? I want to update to the 10i update then try making a prerooted version of it but didn't make a backup of the 10g system before I rooted. Looking for the AT&T system image.

Need help on flashing TOT file and IMG file

I got the phone from eBay and it has been rooted when it came out of the package. However, I failed to activate it to Sprint. The Sprint customer service representative told me to flash the original stock ROM. The current rooted software version is ZV6. I downloaded the ZV5.tot file and ZV6.img file from this forum, however I don't know how to flash them.
It seems tot file is from LG and the img file is from 3rd party, so I prefer to use tot file. However, someone in this forum said you would brick your device if you flash different version. Maybe to flash img file is safer.
Any helps will be appreciated.
Do not flash that phone with the TOT file. You will hard brick it!! Follow this guide to flash back the stock system.img, but make sure you flash the correct version! You MUST flash version ZV6. Once you flash the stock image, you can reflash with the rooted image. Although I can't see the rooted image keeping you from authenticating with Sprint... seems to work fine for me. But I would give reflashing ZV6 system.img a try. Should work fine. (I have done this process many times with no issues)

LG Stylo 3 Plus KDZ Firmware File

Had to restore my phone earlier today and was able to grab the KDZ file for the latest nougat update for the LG-M470 model. Roaming around noticed some people had said the original file/firmware wasn't out yet but I guess they are now.
Download for anyone who wants it:

Thanks techboy11 for the kdz file. Do you or anyone know how to extract the stock recovery from this? I would like to apply the OTA security updates, but it only works with the stock recovery and I currently have the TWRP recovery.
Thanks,
Johnny

Lg v20 vs995 update and keep root?

I had soneone ask me is it possible to update to the latest firmware and keep root. I know we cant do it via OTA or use lgup to flash it in. Since we have twrp is there a way we can install a newer firmware to the v20 insted of being stuck between 10B to 13A as those are the firmware that can be rooted
One phone had it possible but i know Android above 6.0 are picky when it comes to a modded boot image my lg g3 was on 10B and someone made image files of the stock rom to be flashed via twrp of course it was kitkay that this was done from 10B to 12B
Crap didn't realize i was on the wrong thread mebt to post it in the questions section sorry for that

Ota updates with magisk installed

So I've rooted my phone a few weeks ago and that seemed to break OTA. Is there anyway to bypass that or always need to flash the newest firmware manually?
You have to flash it manually, because an OTA Update could brick your phone if you have modyfied anything in your /system partition.
The only way is to go to updato or something and flash the full firmware then, right?
Yea samfirm or a firmware site, and flashing via Odin should do it
