Bootloop after CM update gone wrong - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
This morning I wanted to update my Galaxy i9505 to the latest CM 13 nightly, and this time I tried to install it from the built-in updater and not manually from the recovery.
So the phone automatically rebooted in recovery and I saw an android image for one second, and then I got stuck in bootloop. I tried every combination of removing battery / holding multiple keys at once to try to get it into normal recovery or download mode, but nothing works.
Now, when turn it on, I see the Samsung logo with the indication that it is booting in recovery, and then black screen and nothing happens. I don't know which state the phone is at this time, but when I plug it to my computer, it appears in the device manager in "other devices". So I tried fastboot, but it says the device is unauthorized.
Does anyone have an idea of what I can do ?

Edit : I managed to enter download mode and install TWRP recovery, then the phone started normally, but when I restarted it, it automatically tried to apply the update and the same bug appeared. Is there any way to wipe everything and install CM 13 through download mode ?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] SOLVED Problem flashing CyanogenMod 9.1.0 Stable

I rooted my MT4GS a few months ago but stuck with the stock ROM. I decided I wanted to try out the CyanogenMod 9.1 ICS ROM. I followed the following steps:
1) Installed ROM Manager.
2) ROM Manager indicated a newer version of ClockworkMod Recovery and I installed it (5.0.2.7).
3) Using ROM Manager, did a full backup of the current ROM. All went well.
4) Using ROM Manager, downloaded and installed CyanogenMod 9.1.0 stable-doubleshot. I specified to wipe the data and cache partitions. The installation seemed to go normally.
When the phone rebooted, it was stuck at the logo screen. Had to remove the battery to turn it off. Tried a couple times, still the same.
Since I had the backup, I decided I would use CWM to restore the old ROM.
When I boot into recovery mode, it shows CWM 5.0.2.7, but whatever option I try to choose from the recovery menu, The screen just goes blank with the CWM logo in the middle and nothing else happens. Hitting the power button returns me to the menu, but no option works, even power down or reboot. It just goes back to the CWM logo again and I have to remove the battery to shut it down.
So, I thought I would try using fastboot to flash the ROM again. When I boot the phone into the boot loader and select fastboot, then plug the phone in via USB, nothing happens. Windows does not see the phone and ADB or fastboot don't see it either. It's not a driver issue, as the computer is still setup from when the computer was rooted and I connect the phone all the time with no problems.
When the phone is off and plugged into USB or the charger, I still get the charging light, though it goes off after about 10 seconds, then comes back on and cycles like that.
Is there anything I can try at this point, or is my phone bricked? It seems like I followed all the steps correctly. Is there an update.zip I can put in the root folder and see if it picks it up?
Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, after rebooting Windows, I was able to get the USB connection to the phone to work in fastboot. It seems I missed the step described in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1508556
which states with S-ON you must flash the boot.img separately. I did that via fastboot and the phone boots into cyanogenmod now.
However, I still seem to have the issue with clockwordmod recovery. As long as I do the recovery functions from rom manager, everything is fine, but when I manually boot into the recovery menu, I get the same behavior of any choice from the menu just blanks the screen except for the CWM logo and nothing happens. I tried reflashing the recovery image using fastboot, but still no go.

This is solved also. Seems on the MT4GS, the trackball is the selection button. The power button appears to only be a back button.
What a thread! Two nicely phrased problem definitions, two well explained solutions, and all from the same guy. Sorry we weren't able to help directly, but you obviously found the answers you needed elsewhere in the forum. And you updated the title as well to show it was solved. Thanks.

[Q] Stuck in bootloop, recover files

Hello.
Today my oneplus one was suddenly stuck in bootloop. This happened in the middle of the day when I rebooted my phone. My phone was running the latest update that came OTA (stock lollipop). Whenever I boot my phone it starts loading and suddenly a Chrome (browser) window appears for 1 second and tries to load a website. Afterwards my lock screen pop ups for 1 seconds and it starts to reboot. During the lockscreen I tried to unlock my phone as soon as possible, but it just reboots. (Any ideas about this weird problem?)
I CAN boot it in recovery mode by holding volume-down button and power button.
I CAN boot it in fastboot mode by holding volume-up button and power button.
Perhaps a factory reset will do the trick, but I don't have a backup of my files (because this happened so suddenly without me trying to flash/customize my phone). My first priority is recovering my files, because most solutions will end up in me losing every file. Unfortunately I've found little possibility to do this during the bootloop problem. I've tried to flash TWRP because it could make backups of my phone. I tried it through ADB/Fastboot, but it failed because my device is not unlocked (I can't go to settings and put my phone in developer mode and debugging mode). So I've read somewhere that unlocking my phone (bootloader?) through ADB will wipe my phone, which is exactly what I don't want.
Also I've tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fix-brickloop-audio-fx-fc-efs-corrupt-t2879061
But It also failed because my device was not unlocked.
Did I miss some steps somewhere or did I read something wrong?
Hopefully anybody has an idea to either fix the bootloop without losing my data, or finding a way to recover my files before wiping the phone.
Thank you.

Unfortunately you might be stuck in a catch-22 situation here. In order to access the files you'd need to unlock the bootloader, but in doing so you'd lose those files. Without usb debugging already enabled I can't see a way out of this.
Decided to unlock the bootloader through ADB. (bye bye data)
After I've unlocked it, I've tried installing TWRP.
Some minor problems occured but I can finally boot into TWRP through volume-down button + power button.
I've decided to download the stock ROM i've found on the OPO forums.
Couldn't acces my phone through normal methods, so I had to use ADB to push the files into my phone.
Installing the file through TWRP, wiped cache/dalvik and installed super user before rebooting.
After rebooting my phone is stuck on the boot screen now. (This also happened before I installed TWRP on my phone)
I've also tried this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
Also no succes. I'm stuck in the bootscreen where it says 'cyanogen'.
EDIT: Managed to fix it eventually through: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/help/fix-brickloop-audio-fx-fc-efs-corrupt-t2879061 (part 2) writing the command in TWRP.
Phone finally boots normally again.

Hopefully the stock cyanogen OS.
First I've tried to flash cyanogenmod 12 through TWRP (file is found here: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/cm12s-yng1tas17l-installation-guide-review-change-log.304615/)
Afterwards I was still stuck in bootscreen, so I've looked for another solution.
Which made me find this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-return-opo-to-100-stock-t2826541
After flashing this file (probably the same thing) the problem still remained.
Eventually after multiple wipes/factory resets (which did not solve the problem) I've entered the command in TWRP and after reboot it finally worked again.
So I basically flashed my phone twice, once through TWRPS and the other through the batch file (perhaps ADB?).
Also no errors occured which stopped the flashing and commands. Did have to reinstall TWRP and reboot instantly in it by holding the volume down button multiple times. This doesnt happen anymore though.
Only had to install google apps for CM12 (gapps), for which I used TWRP in recovery mode.
Currently reinstalling most apps on my phone and no problems yet.

[Completed] [RESOLVED] Soft bricked Symphony Xplorer P6 is looping on TWRP splash screen

My device is the little known 'Symphony Xplorer P6'. Android L 5.0. It was rooted. And recently I flashed TWRP recovery using Mobileuncle. d-h.st/oEO9 this is the link to the .img file of the TWRP I used.
Later I installed Xposed installer and it tried to install Xposed framework but it didn't support my device. The install/update button was greyed out. So I went on XDA and found this alpha version of Xposed installer that works with Android L from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
Then I downloaded "xposed-v78-sdk21-arm.zip" from the same thread and flashed it using TWRP. And rebooted. It rebooted straight to recovery. I needed to check if the newly flashed zip file worked and I could finally install Xposed Framework but it won't reboot to system. So I decided to clear cache. I selected just the cache partition and swiped to wipe. But it was stuck showing "wiping cache". It was wiping cache for a long time but normally just wiping cache doesn't take that much time. So I pulled the battery and rebooted to recovery. Then I wiped Dalvik cache. Still didn't boot to system. But the cache was clear. So I tried a factory reset (the first option that shows in TWRP on the wipe menu) after I pulled my sim cards and external SD.
And now whenever I turn on my phone it shows the boot logo (Symphony logo, my phone's brand) and then goes to TWRP splash screen and the display blinks after a few seconds and again its the TWRP splash screen. Means when it was supposed to show recovery options (Install, wipe, backup etc) the splash screen started again. And blinks again and splash screen again and so on untill I pull the battery. I know my phone is not bricked because it turned on (or is it?). As it is stuck at the TWRP splash Screen, It cant go into recovery mode where you have Install, Wipe, Backup etc. options.
What do I do now? Experts, please help the noob

I've downloaded and installed the USB drivers and Flash tool. Now downloading the stock ROM. As soon as download completes I'll begin flashing. Thanks for your links. Another thing, I've removed the battery and connected the phone via USB, the phone shows the charging screen for a moment then turns off, then again the charging screen and then turns off, Windows 7 is playing the device connected and disconnected sound as the screen happens. Is it normal?
Update: After clicking the download button in SP flash tool and connecting phone via USB the download procedure doesn't start. The device driver I installed was "Android Gadget VCOM driver (COM4)". I think I need the "MediaTek DA USB VCOM driver".. I'm going to install that.
Update 2: Installed "MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM driver" Download procedure started and running

OnePlus One Recovery Help

Hi,
I have a OnePlus One and I was having a lot of battery and network issues on Cyanogen 13.1 build version MHC19Q. I tried to do a factory reset but my phone would just not boot after the reset. It was stuck on the Cyanogen logo for over 50 minutes. So I tried to shut it down and redo the whole thing multiple times but I was facing the same issue.
So I tried to flash the ROM (downloaded from the Cyanogenmod support page). I did this through ADB but every time the installation stops midway because of
"signature verification failed"
And my computer does not recognize my phone on fastboot mode. I can only get to recognize the device when I go to recovery mode, do apply update from ADB
Please help!! I do not know how to fix this and I cannot do anything with my phone any more

Stuck at TWRP Loop!

My phone got stuck at TWRP Loop!!
So, there is what i did...
I flashed Samsung a7 firmware ANDROID 10 [download from firja] and it worked. I needed to root my phone and tried Magisk new app.
But, with new Firmware I did not had TWRP installed, so I flashed TWRP with oden as instructed in this POST [BTW, I followed first method , not the *****OREO ROOT INSTRUCTIONS:***** ].
** TWRP version is 3.2.3-1_ashyx **
After that my phone got stuck at TWRP Loop.
Phone will not boot to normal , only BOOTLOOP to TWRP. Most of the time TWRP doesn't load fully and TWRP screen seams Black Line [in horizontal axix, MY phone display fine, it seems come from The TWRP!! ].
So, I am kinda STUCK at this TWRP Loop and TWRP load at it LOGO nothing more.
I tried every possible KEY combination to get to the fastboot mode/download mode but failed.
One or TWO time I was able[or it did it self!] to boot into TWRP (TWRP loaded but , with BLACK line) , i tried to enter download mode but failed.
So, what can i do?
-Thanks
I got the same problem, i did this: Power + volume down next when it restarted fast pressed v+ and v- and plug in the cable before it showed samsung logo

Nothing to worry and don't panic,
I've been facing problem like this.
To enter bootloader / download mode. With USB Cable plugged You must press and hold Power + Vol Down button then count it for 7-8 seconds, after that immediately release Power button, and press Vol Up + Down. Repeat this step if fail. U will see Download mode.
Regards.

You hold volume down + power button for 7 seconds and phone will be power off.
Then you press both volume buttons (vol up + vol down) and plug in cable what is connected to computer, this pusch you to download mode of phone.

Hi, Bennie from Holland here, with the same problem: tried to flash Twrp to the Samsung A750FN and now stuck in not working Twrp logo, flashing for 2 seconds and further a black screen< The fastboot using Odin can be used via the method described by szimin22, bur the adb fastboot gives no response. Does someone know the correct trwp version for this mobile or a firmware file that can be flashed by Odin?
A Week Later ...
i have installed on the a7 the firmware dated okt 2020 and i can install without any prob trwrp or PBRP! but the machine goes into bootloop again. The only thing which seems to be resolved is a normal functional recovery. Now the return to the phone itself and we are home! any suggestions, pls give us a chance to not smash the a7 through the kitchenwindow
