Miui7 camera app white circle? - Xiaomi Mi 4C

Hi.
I just got my Mi4c yesterday and while playing with the camera app I noticed a white circle which appears at different positions (next to the image border). Does anyone know the purpose of this circle? Is there any official or unofficial guide available for this camera app? It seems there are many cool options but a guide would help a lot.
Thanks!

Are you able to take a screenshot of the white circle?

Tap the edge of the screen where this circle appears to take the picture.
Expect the picture to blur because of the tap.
I think that is what it is

It's because of EDGE TAP - you can enable or disable in Settings/ edge tap. Not very useful.

You are right, sorry for my silly question. I have just disabled this function as I keep edge tapping by accident every time!

Nice app. Still a can be difficult to slide the bar out (especially since I have a case on my phone)... Maybe include configurable bar dimensions in the future.
That aside.. It works great. Would be cool to implement expanding notifications somehow
Didn't test it, but can we also change the side of the screen where I want to slide from to open it, can't have it on the left side because it's allready used by swapps and would take some time to get used to having it on the other side?
Also, while downloading a file the notification (the one on the top of screen) for the download repeats over and over.
I can install this apk

[Q] Lens Blur click to select focus vs default

I am playing with the new Lens Blur feature of the new Google Camera. I find the default focus and blur setting, to be quite good, and this setting, it seems that it can't be reproduced once I click to select the area I want to manually focus?
So I used the Lens Blur on my son, in the attached picture, the bottom is the default that Google gives me after processing of the picture. So I tried to click on my son's face to see if that changes anything, and to my surprise, it actually made the face more blur-er. I have tried clicking on his body and hands, but I can't seem to get the effect of the default picture.
Both the pictures are from screenshot capture on my phone itself, as I can't figure out how to make a copy of the photo and adjust the lens blur separately.
what happens when you reduce the blur effect to essentially nothing? (sliding the bar all the way to the left)

Thanks for the tip! I slide the bar to the left, and the face is still blurry, so now I am suspecting its the preview window.
I did a save after I click to focus his face. And save it. It seems pretty close to the default one after that.

Torch Lockscreen Widget for Flash-less Phone?

I was looking for a torch app that could be added to the lockscreen with just plain white color so that phones without flash could use the screen as torch light right at the lockscreen.
I am a new Z Ultra user and the phone without a flash was the biggest inconvenience. Using the big screen as torch was the next best thing, but I have to unlock the phone and open an app to turn on the light.
So what if there's a widget that does nothing but being a white screen.
Was this idea possible?
Its not possible, because camera is on backside and while taking photo you would be facing lock screen, so light would come on your face and not on the object you want to take photo of.

[Q] Top bar visibility when rotated with edge side up.

What I watch a video and want to know the time im used to swipe from the top down. This works with phone in portrait en langscape with edge down. I like the edge up with video's bit then how to access the status bar?
You can't.
I hate that we can't. I also like the edge side up when watching videos. It's just more comfortable to hold.

I agree. I spent some time trying to figure out a way to make a shortcut to pull down the notification menu so that I wouldn't have to use the normal "pull down" method. Couldn't find anything.
It feels natural for me to hold the edge up.
I use Next laucher with a swipe down gesture to access the notification panel.

That works regardless of the app you are in?
Thought I stumbled across a fix. Our very own @xodAslan navigation app for the edge panel has a notification panel button but it doesn't work with the edge screen up.

It works with the edge panel down though. Seems like we have to undo something Samsung coded in.

Disable screen resizing

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to pull down the notification bar and I end up shrinking the app. Especially during a phone call when I'm trying to avoid the light sensor (which will make the screen go black)
Any way to disable screen resizing entirely?
Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Not that I'm aware of. However, the "minimize to window" gesture only works from the top left corner, and the light sensor is on the left of center. So swiping down anywhere on the top right half on the screen should activate neither.

I wish that were the case. However minimizing the window also happens from the top right corner.

Its super annoying. Ive been trying to find a way to disable it since i got the phone.
It only works on certain apps, not all apps. The difficult part is not knowing and trying to see if the screen sizing works or not. It works on gmail, messaging, google chrome and only a few others. Just try to not touch the upper left and right corners of the screen
You don't have to put your fingers near the top to pull down the notification bar when you are on a home screen...
