problems with SD card - HTC One A9

I have an external sd-card who I use as internal memory. Once a day the phone doesn't recognise the SD card anymore. When I restart my a 9 it's there again. Does Anyone else recognise this problem. And hobbies you solve it?
Maybe it because of the cheap SD card I use? But I don't want to invest on a new one if the problem appears again.
Thanks

I have the same issue but only when am running cm13 rom, on stock rooted it's good.. Some might say it's the MicroSD but I've used plenty of brands & they have been fine. Right now I have a pny 128gb..

go to settings>storage>erase sd card or format it in fat32 via pc
When my SD card is mounted, it isn't detected on my PC, so I can't reformat or erase.

did you try mounting from recovery? I have a sd card usb adapter. It is really handy and I suggest that everyone who flashes picks one up. They don't cost much and let you get at you sd card directly through the pc.
Yes,that is must have if you flash roms all the time like the most of us do.
I got one for like 4 euros, and its life saver.

Usually XDA always has someone who knows what to do in all situations, but in your case it might be a hardware error. Something might not be connecting properly... and that can't be fixed with software solutions. I'm not sure if this is the case here, but a thought to consider.

Anyone else getting this problem ??????
I have meet this problem some days ago when I bought a new 16G class6 TF card from KingMax, this card have no problem when using it on PC, but when I using it in my sensation, it always "removed unexpectedly", after change it with a new SANDISK 16G class4 TF card, every thing was OK till now.
So I think it should be a compatibility problem, you can try to using other brand card.
I have the same problem with my HTC Sensation XE phone.
After using an app/game that saves info on the SD card, an error appears that reads: "SD card unexpectedly removed" and all apps that are installed on the SD card are no longer usable, nor is any information (pictures/videos) accessible. The SD card basically becomes invisible to the phone.
I have not tried another SD card yet, but I am reading other people have tried, and it doesn't help. I may try in a week though, when I plan to purchase another one.
Here is some info about my phone:
I have already done all its updates - it has SENSE 3.6 and runs on Android 4.0.3.
It has never been rooted, it runs on the original HTC software.
I am using an 16GB SD card on it - major brand, I believe it is SanDisc.
Also now the problem always appears when I try to update an app that is installed on the SD card, or when I try to record a video - in these two instances I always get the error now, and it gets very annoying.
The phone will randomly get the error on other occasions too.
The only thing that fixes this is to restart the phone 2 times in a row, as by first restart the SD card is still invisible. Another way is to manually remove the battery.
Anyone has any idea how to fix this problem?
I am surprised that I cannot find a clear answer and fix for this problem anywhere, even though so many people have this problem.
Please, help!
You might want to order a new card.perhaps it got corrupted somehow? Do you have a card reader for your computer so you can test the card its self and see if the reader or computer recognizes the card? You can find readers really cheap and they are very good to have. If the reader won't recognize it, It's definitely the card, if the reader does recognize it It's likely your device. First thing I'd try is a new card. Especially if you don't have a reader to check it. Hope this helps.

It's an issue
Hello Everyone,
I have an issue to report. For a long time I have been chasing this bug, although I was thinking is a hardware issue.
Here is the issue:
From time to time I have been experiencing an "SD card unexpectedly removed". I was thinking that my sd card is not ok. I have changed the sd card, formated, who knows what else I have been doing, but at the end the same issue.
I started to hate my HTC Sensation 4G. Reading forums, but no help.
I have noticed that this issue does not happens when I install Cyanogen Mod 9.1, but the software from htc same result.
Now let me tell you what ROM I am using and which version and how do I reproduce the issue.
phone: HTC Sensation 4G
Android version 4.0.3
HTC Sense version 3.6
Software number 3.33.401.153
Baseband version 11.76A.3504.00U_11.24A.3504.31_M
Build number 3.33.401.153 CL391535 release keys
I have been using the rom from HTC Sensation XE, but the issue also occurred and on the HTC Sensation 4G ROM.
Steps to reproduce the issue:
1. I have installed SDCardTester https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.anotherflexdev.sdcardtester.SDCardTester&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImFpci5jb20uYW5vdGhlcmZsZXhkZXYuc2RjYXJkdGVzdGVyLlNEQ2FyZFRlc3RlciJd
2. Start the SDCardTester
3. During the testing process call yourself from another cell phone.
4. Problem occurred. "SD card unexpectedly removed"
Also sometimes issue is reproduced when mobile data is ON and there is writing/reading to the SD Card.
Can someone else to try to reproduce this issue and to confirm this problem.
Thanks
Ok i have been facing the same issue...earlier this issue only came when i used ttorrent..but now suddenly it is coming everytime..i first thought its a hardware issue with maybe the card or card reader slot in phone..but if it was a hardware related issue the card also wouldnt show up in the recovery..but in recovery it shows up just fine n i even flashed rom from recovery where setup was in sdcard..this is surely kernel or os issue

[HTC One SV] SD Card

[HTC One SV] SD Card
I found it nowhere else.
The HTC ONE SV works also with microSDXC Card. In the specs it says microSDHC cards but I operate mine since I bought it with a 64GB microSDXC card without any problems.
I have to post this here because we still have no dedicated Forum for the HTC One SV
This are good news!
Also thinking about buying a bigger one.
Which one do you use, have you a link?

Is there a way to increase the 1.1GB space for the application (EX join with the 4GB internal space). I don't need internal space for data, i usually store them in the SD.

After this mod your sd card will be recognized as internal memory and the internal around 4 GB will be recognized as sd card.
Ok... Is possible to change partition table for join application space with intrrnal space (1.1+4 GB) and use for applicazioni? So the sd could be used as external space...

I think for the moment this mod is all and the best you can do.
As i did not create it, i can't say, if there will be other variants in the future.

Nope, as far as I can remember it was detected by the phone worked.. It still works like a charm. I am using the phone now for over a year with that card and never had problems. I think I tested nearly all available ROMS for that phone and never had problems with the card. At present I am using ViperSV 1.1.1.on the phone.

See, I'm also running ViperSV 1.1.1 and when I put the card in initially it said it was unsupported or damaged. Tried reformatting it in Windows, now shows up as 59GB exFAT in Windows but still not working on the phone. Is yours formatted differently or something?
UPDATE: I'm hearing elsewhere that it needs to be formatted as FAT32 in order to work, and Windows doesn't want to format it to anything other than exFAT or NTFS (while SD Formatter only uses exFAT). Apparently there's some sort of issue with the fact that the Class 10 cards have exFAT and a mysterious 16MB hidden offset partition at the start of the drive, so I'm now gonna try getting rid of that to see if it works.
UPDATE: Yep, looks like both: 1. The phone (Android?) doesn't support exFAT without a mounting mod, and 2. That weird 16MB offset at the start of the drive seems to cause compatibility issues as well. Have wiped the offset and reformatted to FAT32, and the card now works.
Thanks for the recommendation and the quick reply!

[Q] Can't mount SD card on computer

I am trying to move everything from one SD card to another one. I figured using the computer would be the quickest approach vs trying to use the tablet.
However, the original SD card won't mount on the computer. It says it needs to be formatted. So now I'm not sure the best approach. I'm sure I'll figure something out before I get an answer here since I don't have the patience to wait , but would like the answer for future reference.
There are a few threads on sd cards but didn't find a good answer.

So they are SD not Micro SD. What brand card reader do you have?
Do you have Kies on your Win7 Computer? I had some issues with sandisk memory when kies was running so I uninstalled it and everything is now fine.

MicroSD. I had enough memory in the tablet that I just ended up copying the data from the original card into memory and then swapping cards. It appears the problem was a defective microSD adapter card. Used a new adapter card and it worked. Ugh.

[Q] sd card removed unexpectedly. working again on rebooting

hii all. i bought sensation xe 2 wks ago. i'm facing the problem in my sensation xe of removing sd card unexpectedly.. after this notification all of my apps stop working except those which are in internal storage. so i reboot my phone and my sd card working again normally without even touching it or removing the batery.. this seems weird. but again after 3-4 hr more or less this notification again comes.. my phone is not rooted as i dont know how to root, updated on ics.. sd card also seems fine as it works on rebooting the phone..
p.s- i'm having this issue after i have upgraded my sd card from 2gb to 8gb.. before that not even the single time i have got that error.....
i have also facing a problem on every reboot that "ANdroid is upgrading" optimizing applications 1 to 28.. so my every reboot takes atleast 2 min which is very annoying.. this error cames after i upgraded from 2.3 to ics...
anybody help me.. and sorry if i am breaking any rules as i have search these problems on google but didnt get any satisfying result.

[Q] Galaxy S3 not reading any SD cards?

My i9305T Galaxy S3 is not reading micro SD cards at all. I have tried using the cards in my computer, and they work fine. My phone, on booting has a notification that states "Preparing SD card; Checking for errors.", Then after a minute or two, has another notification stating that the SD card is safe to remove. I have tried with multiple SD cards, they all work in a PC, but not my phone.
