Question regarding Samsung Galaxy S6 stock messages ( SMS ) - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

At my Galaxy S6 the stock messages place my messages, the ones that I write, at the bottom of a particular conversation and the messages of the person in that conversation at the top ( Check out the screenshot ). It this normal with the Samsung stock messages ?

It sorts sms by time. So one of you has got his time or date wrong and by your screenshot, it's how sms are arranged, that is, in descending order of time sent!

Good afternoon and thanks for your attention and help. The last three days I learned the correct way SMS works. Shame on me cause I'm not new at the Android platform, seven years, six flagships phones and a Google Nexus 5. Bought my Galaxy S6 on May 2015 and always use the paid premium versions of third party SMS apps like Evolve, Textra, etc. This is the first time I use Samsung stock SMS message. I'm under the impression that it is faster than the the others I bought. So thank you again.

[APP] BaselsSMSer /SMS flooder/bomber

Hey
I recently bought a Android-phone and thought of starting developing some apps for it! So I ported my BaselsSMSer "previously on winMobile". Thought that maybe some users would find it handy! I'm a "freebee" developer, so I support all software development that is opensource and free for the public. I was surprised when I saw the $25 fee on Market, and thought, "I ain't gonna pay 2 share stuff I'm publishing for free"! So i'm gonna share it with you guys here @xda!! It's the first release and you may find it buggy! Please report any bugs/problems!!
Quick Guide:
-(Number)You can either choose to type the number you wish to flood directly in the text field or click on a name in the list to get contacts number
-(Message)Type the message you wish to send
-(Quantity)Type how many messages to send
-(Send) Send it/them!!
EDIT: Requirement: Android 2.1 or above!

Good app to have fun with, but costly!
not costly if you have a sms flat like me
hehe, I have unlimited free SMS service.. so no problem here.. =)
Why is not there anything like this on Play Store?
The only thing I found was SMS Bomber, but he was deleted from market.
Because it goes against googles rules..
Great first release. Few suggestions. You should be able to search contacts, add multiple numbers to spam, and and be able to spam group texts. Such as view your text threads and you select your group text thread and you can aoam that.
Love it though! Thanks

Just a suggestion
How about a function to set the time between the messages?
Like sending one message every minute or something?
I've let go of this app a long time ago... But for u guys I'll think about implementing ur suggestions...

Is there a way to do this?

I was using BlackBerry 10.2 the other day and noticed a few things I liked and was wondering if there's a way to get them on the Nexus 5:
1. Ability to click on toast notifications (say of a text message) and respond on the spot without leaving the app you're in.. is it possible to do this on the Nexus 5 anyway?
2. Text message previews/calendar events on the lockscreen.. is it possible?
3. Split calendar to show calendar on top, schedule on the bottom (see pic below) - Any app that replicates this or option in Google Calendar?

Thanks.
1. The SMS app Textra let's you reply from anywhere without exiting the app you're in. I'm sure there are plenty of others that do as well, but Textra is what I'm using.
2. Yes. If you drag the lock screen left you'll move to another screen with a '+' sign on it. You can then add widgets there.
3. There's likely a ton of calendar apps for this but Jorte comes to mind as one that has a split view like that.

Thanks! How would you rate Tetra in terms of fluidity and responsiveness? Also, when a message pops up, is there a slight 2 second delay when loading the pop up after the message is received? I tried a similar app in the past and it bugged me that there was a delay when I saw the notification in the notification tray.
Textra has been pretty good so far through a week of use. No major lags, stutters or anything like that. SMS and MMS work fine. I'd say its as good as or better than the old stock messages app.

Just grasping straws here, but could it be related to the carrier allowing it or not? I don't have the option either BTW. Try switching sim cards if possible.

Switching SIM cards didnt help. It's something with the phone. I'll try version 4.3 of Google +, but there must be something else going on here! So strange!
Hangouts missing? Sounds more like a solution than a problem.

I don't have the delivery report option. But have group mms. Hmm. There must be a common denominator somewhere. What is your carrier? Same plan?
same carrier, t-Mobile
Drag the Google settings app up into info. Do you both have the same build version?

Problem with text messages on s7

Hello everyone, my friend got a s7 g935p from eBay not knowing that it was American version but everything works fine apart from text messages.
For some reason it sends the messages in parts. Like part 1 half a message and part 2 rest of the message
Is there any way I can stop it doing that so that it just sends 1 full message .
Thanks
Kev

That is normal in stock firmware , there used to be mods and xposed modules that disable this ( Disable SMS to MMS Conversion) but i have not seem them around yet , custom roms have it ( for example superman rom)
Thanks max, only problem my friend has its the p model and apparently it's a locked bootloader so I hear so no custom ROMs available

You could try a different SMS app like textra, it has some options in settings.

MMS limit

I've noticed that when sending mms (pics) I can only select two pics at a time to send for the limit is 300kb. Is there a way to increase this limit or is it contingent on the service provider that I am subscribed to? I'm weigh metro pcs on an SM-G955FD Duos.

It is carrier dependant. Somewhere before I've seen the limits by carrier. There is a way to with root I believe modify something somewhere that will allow more if your carrier supports it.
I hope someone on here that's more knowledgeable would be able to assist with this.
Well, let's try out. I post three photos. Let's see.

Text messages. It only allows choosing up to two pics
Check out screen shot. This is a text message to my wife Iphone 7 the big one. It's work perfect, she received the text message with the three photos. My SMS is Yaata, I paid around three bucks for the premium features two or three years ago. In my opinion is better than stock Samsung, better than Textra, better than Google Message, better than Signal.

So you're using a different app for texting?
Yes, third-party apps is a way to go when the stock, in this case Samsung, gets short. Yaata is not a new SMS app but is solid. This days Signal SMS and Pulse SMS are big names out there. Some people want enhanced features, you know when the text you send is read by the one that received it. I don't know if there are SMS apps that can do that. I know that an e-mail app like Mail Droid can do it cause I bought it, not for that particular enhanced feature, just because I bought apps such as e-mail. Lots of people use Textra SMS, I paid the premium around a couple of years ago. Textra is nice but I prefer Yaata.
