I have done the steps and it works until I tried to get into recovery mode. Instead of TWRP I got the EMUI recovery instead? The fastboot said it was working fine with below log
target reported max download size of 471859200 byte
sending 'recovery' (29752 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.637s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.165s]

What I should do next?
Also, for whatever reason, I can't download from this link https://app.box.com/s/zbncte02vv721wigarektoxpw7rxtbhf
use a mobile browser for the link
also, try all combinations to boot into recovery:
vol + / power
vol - / power
vol + and - / power
see if any of those will get u into twrp
if none of them do, then uve most likely done smth wrong while flashing twrp

Try use the more recent TWRP 3.0.2 for EMUI4.1
Use Vol up+down at power on to get to recovery and should work, this is the one that worked for me...

Hi 3abdell,
The version you flashed is an old one. You must flash EMUI4.1 version of Twrp.

Hi All,
I was following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mediapad-x2/general/how-to-flash-rom-x2-gem-703l-gem-702l-t3228915
Downloaded the document and following the step.
Here's what i had:
- bootloader unlocked
- twrp installed
- flashed x2_Kang_b015
Where it failed:
- fastboot flash system system.img
- had this:
Code:
c:\Users\user\Downloads\GEM-703L_EMUI3.0.5_Android5.0_V100R001C233B015>fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending sparse 'system' (447016 KB)...
FAILED (command write failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 1.044s
c:\Users\user\Downloads\GEM-703L_EMUI3.0.5_Android5.0_V100R001C233B015>fastboot reboot-bootloader
rebooting into bootloader...
FAILED (command write failed (Unknown error))
finished. total time: 5.015s
c:\Users\user\Downloads\GEM-703L_EMUI3.0.5_Android5.0_V100R001C233B015>fastboot devices
???????????? fastboot
Where i am now:
- twrp gone, fastboot flash recovery recovery.img worked, so twrp gone
- Power + Vol Down, unable to get me to bootloader mode (WTF)
- Power + Vol Up, simple recovery with WIPE option only
- Power + Vol Up + Vol Down, EMUI updater
What i tried:
- placed original B015 GEM-703L update.app in "dload", got *Version check failed*
Is there anything i can do? Any suggestion would be great?
I can't even power off the device now, it hangs at load screen, and holding power, will restart the device.
Thanks and Regards,
Kevin
It seems like i managed to save my own a**. Downloaded the stock B003 for GEM 702L and did Power + Vol Up + Vol Down. It works.
Seems like theres always a way to recover from a screw up, don't give up guys, there's always a way, or maybe i just got lucky =P
Thanks
If you get this error on flashing system, your adb version it's not up to date.
Install Huawei hisuite and use a different USB port.
If you bought your device with message 'bootloader unlocked' then forget this: it might be a fake unlock message. You must unlock bootloader yourself, if you still are not able to flash system.
First flash the 4 files for 015
and then install universal cust b112
and then install b015

Hi,
Due to the triada trojan pre-installed in my MTT IDEAL (which is a Nomu S20) - great work guys - i'm trying to install lineage os.
I did :
- [done] unlock bootloader
```
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot oem unlock
...
(bootloader) Start unlock flow
OKAY [ 9.276s]
finished. total time: 9.276s
```
- [done but not sure!] install TWRP recovery
```
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
target reported max download size of 134217728 bytes
sending 'recovery' (12304 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.284s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.290s]
finished. total time: 1.574s
fastboot reboot
adb reboot recovery
```
I get a recovery menu, which is not the TWRP one ! (cannot post img for now!)
- Reboot system now
- Reboot to bootloader
- Apply update from ASB
- Apply update from SD Card
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe cache partition
- Backup user data
- Restore user data
- Root integrity check
- Mount /system
- View recovery logs
- Power off
Do you know what's wrong / what i can do now ?
Thanks

Just a disclaimer - I'm not familiar with your device.
That said, since the recovery image is actually flashed have you tried turning the device fully off, turning it on and loading the recovery screen with a key combo instead of adb?

Alright so I screwed Up. I got in a rush and followed some guys advice in a thread for a different phone and not sure how to get back on track. Can someone help?
Heres what I did.....
Code:
G:\Downloads\oneplus 6 root\android p>fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (26744 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.569s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: (recovery_b) No such partition)
finished. total time: 0.577s
Nothing..... SO I googled and then typed this:
>>fastboot flash boot_b twrp-3.2.3-0-enchilada.img
Phone rebooted and showed twrp, cool. I restarted from there then, sh1t! Now I can't get back to twrp nor the os to follow the correct guide.
I tried holding power for 7 seconds - reboots and shows the red dot with white dots circling eternally
I tried holding volume down + power for 7 seconds - reboots and does the same thing
I tried holding volume up + power for 7 seconds - it goes into this all black recovery mode or something

You need to boot into fastboot and fastboot flash the stock boot.img from you PC. This should restore your stock boot and fix your issue.
hey @ajsmsg78. when i do adb devices through usb, it doesn't find it. it will keep booting to the red dot and spinning white dots around it. no recovery option appears on the phone. what mode do I have to be in for the pc to see it at this point?

Hi All,
I have recently manage to unlock my bootloader and have followed the instruction on installing global rom but i'm having issue installing TWRP on my MI MIX 3.
When i pressed VOL+ and Power, it kept bringing me back to MI recovery instead of twrp
The actions that i have did on my end
1) extract miflash_unlock-en-2.3.803.10, ran the app and manage to unlock my bootloader after 72 hours
2) installed ADB and xiaomi usb drivers on my laptop
3) downloaded TWRP_perseus.img
Executed command prompt within the same directory of TWRP_perseus.img with the following output
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery TWRP_perseus.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (65536 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.413s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.155s]

C:\adb>fastboot boot TWRP_perseus.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 1.407s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.080s]
finished. total time: 1.487s
I have tried renaming to twrp.img /recovery.img and on different folders but all end up with similar output as above.
I appreciate any assistance as i tried searching online for guides or support but i can't find any.
Thanks in advance for the help

Keep doing volume up and power, if it boots to the "mix" screen go back into fastboot and flash twrp. Repeat until you're in
Do not use fastboot boot twrp
Don't give command boot, doesn't works
After command flash send manually in recovery power + vol up
