Double Tap to open camera like s6 - Galaxy Grand 2 Themes and Apps

Original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/themes-apps/howto-config-double-tap-to-launch-camera-t3203026
Only for motion ROM
In order to have the feature double tap to launch "anything", you just need root and an sql editor
in your sql editor:
1. Find Settings Storage (it's a different name for every language)
2. Tap on system
3. Tap on search icon and write "double"
4. in the entry named "double_tab_launch" place "1" in "value"
5. if you dont have a entry named "double_tab_launch_component", made it. In value place this:
Code:
com.sec.android.app.camera/com.sec.android.app.camera.Camera

Great!!! I always wanted it!!! Thank you Bro

Works perfectly fine !!!! Thanks

is there any way to get double tap to wake up ?

Very nice mod guide, even when the screen is locked, the camera app can be launched

[Tutorial][Xperia L] Hiding softkeys

Tutorial for quick hiding softkeys without hiding notification bar.
As I was looking for an option to hide the softkeys and I couldn't find the way. After small research and testing I am presenting to you my idea.
Here is a small tutorial. (NOTE! IF YOU THINK THIS THREAD SHOULD NOT BE THERE PLEASE REPORT TO MOD TO MOVE IT)
What you will need:
Rooted phone
Of course a phone (Sony Xperia L C2105/C2104)
How To Root your phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366579
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302700
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307983

Instructions:
Easier Option: (Note! For people that don't won't to use third party apps scroll down to harder option).
Firstly you will have to download the following apps:
GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys)
Pie Control (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol)
After you have successfully installed them. Open GMD app.
1: Allowed the SU access.
2: Tick "Hide Soft Keys" and Enabled it. (Could be small lag).
3: Tick Start On Boot (Or you will have to turn it on every time you reset your phone).
4: Scroll down to "Trigger Width" and configure it as shown in the screenshot + set Trigger Mode to Swipe.
(Press on the image to make it bigger)
Note: Pro version allows you to make the Trigger width smaller. Free version allows go only to 20%.
After you configure GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys, swipe that red bar and press home button. Then go to Pie Control.
1: Allowed the SU access.
2: Tick "Bottom" options if you want it to come up from the bottom (You can pick which side you prefer. Left/Right or Bottom)
3: Go to "Level 1":
- FIRSTBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Menu"
- SECONDBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Task"
- THIRDBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Home" (Press "LongClick" , search for Voice Search
- FOURTHBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Back"
NOTE! FOR LEVEL2 YOU CAN WHATEVER YOU LIKE ADD. YOUR CHOICE.
4: Go to "Pie" again and scroll down a bit to options.
5: In "Pie Size" choose 25 (I think is suitable for our phone screen. Of course you can make it smaller or bigger, your choice).
Optional: 6: Go to "Color" and customize the colors of it.
After all your phone screen should look smiliar to mine:
(Press on the image to make it bigger)
Harder Option:
Install any app that will allowed you to access into system files.
I would like to recommend free ROOT BROWSER (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree).
Firstly before you hide the softkeys go to Pie Control and configure it as followed:
When you configure Pie Control. Open Root Browser. Download that extra files root browser want and here you go ready to mode.
1: Go to /system and open build.prop.
2: Make a copy of build.prop
3: Add that line: "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" and save.
4: Reboot the phone.
And here you go. I don't think you need screenshot for this as it is the same as the "Easier Option" but without that red line .
Hope this tutorial will help anyone that is tired of that boring Android SoftKeys and want's something new on his/her phone.
If it help you , I wouldn't mind for a small thanks .
First: Your Pics do not work....
Second: I know you can make your Softbuttons smaller / bigger by editing framework.apk, I have seen the how to in XZ-Section. If you dind the tutorial and set the height to zero it should be gone... maybe theres even an option like show.navbar=true and you can just change it to false... however I dont have a clue

Open from pc or browser of your phone and then see...
To hide softkeys you just have to add one line in build.prop:
"qemu.hw.mainkeys=1"
then reboot and they will disappear...
but pay attention to have another possibility to launch those commands...

Is there a list of all those available tweaks that we can put in build.prop somewhere in the internet?

Man I dont know I found it out while trying "Ultimate Dynamic Navbar" and it added this line. when you set it to "0" softkeys are back
I would like to have such a list but i didnt look it up.
There are several build.prop tweakers in Market and on xda (like pimp my rom)...
You can use them to find out the codes and write the list yourself

I tried it and it messed up my build.prop... but it was easy to clean because there are always headers above those tweaks. example given: you can see how to enable bravia engine 2 (first you have to install some files of course). So it is good for learning but for real modding i dont like it that much.

[APP][4.1+] Universal Copy - Copy any text from any app (Facebook, YouTube etc)

Hello XDA,
Ever wanted to copy some text in an app on Android but you could not because the copy function was deactivated by the app's developer ?
This situation happens quite often actually, as the standard Android long press copy function does not work in some of the biggest Android applications: Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, SnapChat.
However, we at Camel Corporation have found a solution. A proper solution that does not involve taking a screenshot and using OCR or going on the browser version of the app.
Our new app, Universal Copy, enables you to copy (almost) any text from any application in only three simple taps.
First, install Universal Copy from the Play Store.
Follow the steps to activate the app's accessibility service.
Then, when you are in an app and want to copy some text :
open your notification drawer
click on "Activate Universal Copy mode"
tap the text(s) you want to copy
click on "Copy": the selected text will highlight and will be copied to your clipboard!
To get a deeper look at how the app works, you can watch the great video review by TK from XDA.
Let us know if you find this app useful, and dont hesitate to contact me if you have any feature request!
Murin,
for the Camel Corp Team

i Have written Arabic detailed review for your app i loved. also my audience loved it. thanks alot ?

V1.2 update
Hi everyone,
First I would like to thank you for your great feedbacks!
We have had two busy weeks and today I am pleased to tell you that we have a nice feature update for Universal Copy.
Due to the way Universal Copy works, you had sometimes no choice but to copy a whole paragraph, then paste it and select only the part you wanted to copy. Therefore we integrated a "selection edit" feature which lets you select the exact sentence or word you want to copy before actually copying. You can trigger it by a long click on the paragraph you want to copy or with the action bar's "Edit" button when you are in the Universal Copy mode. Attached to this post is a screenshot of this feature.
You can grab the 1.2 update in the play store.
We would be glad to hear your feedbacks and comments / feature requests as usual!
Cheers,
Murin
v1.4
Hi,
Two new updates on Universal Copy!
=> The v1.3 brings a shortcut to Universal Copy: thanks to this shortcut you can launch the Universal Copy mode the way you want!
You just need to have some button / gesture customization app or launcher installed on your device, or a custom ROM that allow to assign shortcuts to buttons.
Once the shortcut assigned, you can disable the annoying notification. Universal Copy becomes completely integrated into your system, and that is a quite nice feeling
=> The v1.4 brings a way to copy texts that are on the top of your screen. This was not possible before for the text appeared under the action bar.
Therefore we now added an option to hide the action bar, we call that the "full screen" mode. This option is available in the Universal Copy mode, on the top right side of the screen.
I hope you will enjoy these updates, let me know if you have any other features in mind!
Murin
PS: Forgot to mention that the latest Twitter release disabled the "copy" option to copy tweets content.
Universal Copy works on Twitter, so if you are looking for a solution to copy tweets since last Twitter's update this app is for you!
What an app. I need this app to work always without clicking notification. Any work around?

What do you mean, work always?
If you mean that you want it to work without a notification, you can use the "long click" on a button shortcut, or other builtin shortcuts like the quick settings tiles.

[Help] Enable Onscreenbuttons and keep hardware buttons on as well

Hi,
I have small hands and I tend to use my smartphone with both hands. Since day 1 I am part of the users which uses both: the hardwarebuttons and the softkeybuttons simultaneously. Unfortunately there is no setting which allows both. You have to decide for one way. Therefore I found nearly two years ago a .zip which allowed exactly this. The idiot I am I accidentally deleted this zip file and I cant find it
Can someone here on the forum make me a zip which modifies the build.prop which adds following line:
Code:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
This line will do what I want to have.
Regards
I don't know how to create zip, but this will do what exactly zip does
1.install root explorer or any build.Prop app from play store
2.add ur code in it
3.restart

what I mean is to disable hardware button. Your rom doesnt give option to manually turn off the HW buttons and they wont off even after turn on navbar (it is great btw if we can keep nav bar and hw for some reasons).

In my ROM you can manually chose what your hw keys do. You can select option "none" for disabling the specific key

Download Live Message for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ (NO ROOT) - Step by Step

Hello!
Some of you are probably aware about this "Live Message" Note 8 Port for Galaxy S8 and S8+. Thanks to @mweinbach.I thought about making a video for those who prefer that.
*The steps below are copied and simplified from XDA original thread
Step 1:
Following the above steps to reach the secure startup setting, toggle the option “Secure startup”. If it’s on, turn it off or if it’s already off, then turn it on. Now restart your phone.
Step 2:
Extract the zip file linked above (from any of the links) and install all three of the APKs.
Step 3:
Change your keyboard input by either going to Settings and then “My device, select "Language and input” and picking Samsung Keyboard Neural Beta as your default.
Step 4:
Once done you can hold down the emoji key then tap the live messages option to open up the Live Messages feature!
Thanks for your time and peace! :good:
Thanks for making this.
Okay so my secure startup of off and I turn it on and set it all up, can I turn it back off after doing that??
