Tutorial for quick hiding softkeys without hiding notification bar.
As I was looking for an option to hide the softkeys and I couldn't find the way. After small research and testing I am presenting to you my idea.
Here is a small tutorial. (NOTE! IF YOU THINK THIS THREAD SHOULD NOT BE THERE PLEASE REPORT TO MOD TO MOVE IT)
What you will need:
Rooted phone
Of course a phone (Sony Xperia L C2105/C2104)
How To Root your phone:

Instructions:
Easier Option: (Note! For people that don't won't to use third party apps scroll down to harder option).
Firstly you will have to download the following apps:
GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.hidesoftkeys)
Pie Control (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jun.ace.piecontrol)
After you have successfully installed them. Open GMD app.
1: Allowed the SU access.
2: Tick "Hide Soft Keys" and Enabled it. (Could be small lag).
3: Tick Start On Boot (Or you will have to turn it on every time you reset your phone).
4: Scroll down to "Trigger Width" and configure it as shown in the screenshot + set Trigger Mode to Swipe.
(Press on the image to make it bigger)
Note: Pro version allows you to make the Trigger width smaller. Free version allows go only to 20%.
After you configure GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys, swipe that red bar and press home button. Then go to Pie Control.
1: Allowed the SU access.
2: Tick "Bottom" options if you want it to come up from the bottom (You can pick which side you prefer. Left/Right or Bottom)
3: Go to "Level 1":
- FIRSTBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Menu"
- SECONDBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Task"
- THIRDBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Home" (Press "LongClick" , search for Voice Search
- FOURTHBUTTON: Press "ShortClick" , go to "Tools" and pick "Back"
NOTE! FOR LEVEL2 YOU CAN WHATEVER YOU LIKE ADD. YOUR CHOICE.
4: Go to "Pie" again and scroll down a bit to options.
5: In "Pie Size" choose 25 (I think is suitable for our phone screen. Of course you can make it smaller or bigger, your choice).
Optional: 6: Go to "Color" and customize the colors of it.
After all your phone screen should look smiliar to mine:
(Press on the image to make it bigger)
Harder Option:
Install any app that will allowed you to access into system files.
I would like to recommend free ROOT BROWSER (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree).
Firstly before you hide the softkeys go to Pie Control and configure it as followed:
When you configure Pie Control. Open Root Browser. Download that extra files root browser want and here you go ready to mode.
1: Go to /system and open build.prop.
2: Make a copy of build.prop
3: Add that line: "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" and save.
4: Reboot the phone.
And here you go. I don't think you need screenshot for this as it is the same as the "Easier Option" but without that red line .
Hope this tutorial will help anyone that is tired of that boring Android SoftKeys and want's something new on his/her phone.
If it help you , I wouldn't mind for a small thanks .
First: Your Pics do not work....
Second: I know you can make your Softbuttons smaller / bigger by editing framework.apk, I have seen the how to in XZ-Section. If you dind the tutorial and set the height to zero it should be gone... maybe theres even an option like show.navbar=true and you can just change it to false... however I dont have a clue

Open from pc or browser of your phone and then see...
To hide softkeys you just have to add one line in build.prop:
"qemu.hw.mainkeys=1"
then reboot and they will disappear...
but pay attention to have another possibility to launch those commands...

Is there a list of all those available tweaks that we can put in build.prop somewhere in the internet?

Man I dont know I found it out while trying "Ultimate Dynamic Navbar" and it added this line. when you set it to "0" softkeys are back
I would like to have such a list but i didnt look it up.
There are several build.prop tweakers in Market and on xda (like pimp my rom)...
You can use them to find out the codes and write the list yourself

I tried it and it messed up my build.prop... but it was easy to clean because there are always headers above those tweaks. example given: you can see how to enable bravia engine 2 (first you have to install some files of course). So it is good for learning but for real modding i dont like it that much.

Hi
I just made a simple Tasker lockscreen wallpaper changer for Galaxy S4 i9505 kitkat
Pre-requested :
1. Rooted phone
2. Tasker with Secure Settings
3. wallpaper images in any folder
4. Busy Box free for linux cp command (will explain later)
How-to:
1. Create a folder on SD card with images you want to use for wallpaper. eg /sdcard/downloads/wallpapers where image filenames have naming convention: picture_x.jpg where x is a counter number starting with 1 eg picture_1.jpg, picture_2.jpg etc
2. Create a Tasker profile name eg. "Lockscreen wallpaper", set running time from morning hrs to late evening - thi is time when lockscreen wallpapers will be rotating.
3. Create a Taker task eg "Change Lockscreen wallpaper" containing-following commands:
a) add Variable Randomize with name %PICNO, min 1, max 100. 100 is number of your wallpaper image files.
b) I dont know why Tasker copy file was not able to copy file from wallpaper folder to system lockscreen wallpaper location (even root option was selected) but for this taks I had to use BusyBox cp command which worked ok.
Now wee need to copy our random image to temporary file we gonna use for lockscreen later:
Copy file from /sdcard/downloads/wallpapers/picture_%PICNO.jpg to /sdcard/downloads/wallpapers/temp.jpg
c) add Secure Settings -> Run Command:
cp /sdcard/downloads/wallpapers/temp.jpg /data/data/com.sec.android.gallery3d/files/lockscreen_wallpaper.jpg
check: use root and wait for process
d) add Wait : set to eg 10 minutes (will change your lockscreen every 10 mins)
e) add Goto Action number 1
4 Check it - launch you task , lock phone, unlock it. verify. Remember that changeing wallpaper will work when your phone is unlocked so new lockscreen wallpaper will be shown next time you wake your phone.
Done.
It didn't work for me. Can you send me a screen shot of what yours looks like?
Can anyone confirm that this method works
It worked for me!!!, but the files are stored here:
/data/data/com.sec.android.wallpapercropper2/files/lockscreen_wallpaper.jpg
/data/data/com.sec.android.wallpapercropper2/files/lockscreen_wallpaper_ripple.jpg
both are a copy of the same file, my device in my signature...

Big thanks to user AL_IRAQI for this important fix as it was a MAJOR annoyance and privacy issue for me on lollipop! It has helped me better enjoy my phone so I'm sharing so it can help those annoyed by this as well.
Not used this yet (as haven't encountered that)... but it's nice of you to share .
I believe Aryamod has this toggle under settings :good:

Hi all..
I'm presenting for y'all, my collection of mods and/or alterations that I'm using in my phone..
Important thing here is that, none of these Mods and/or alterations need the user to have a custom recovery installed (& therefore, knock KNOX to 0x1 as a result voiding warranty of their phone).
Moreover, the zip that you'll download - will save you from putting in any efforts at all to make a backup of anything :victory: as, a backup of all the files & folders (even odex ones) have been included in the zip :highfive:
As mentioned in the title of this Thread, your phone needs to be on Samsung Stock Lollipop 5.0 Rom and you need to have Root access.
I'm using SM-N9005 and the firmware installed in my phone is

STEPS for FOLDERS & FILES
Download this zip archive
Extract it & copy the files in your phone
Use a Root Explorer (I use Solid Explorer as it has 2 independent panes which makes file operation very easy)
replicate the file structure that's present in the extracted folders inside root\system folder in your phone
assign drwxrwxrx permissions to Folders & rwrr permissions to Files
ensure that you replace the settings.apk , systemui.apk & services.jar in 1 go before rebooting
reboot after changing all the files
STEPS for TOGGLES & HEADS UP DISABLING
Download SQLite Editor
Open SQL Editor -> Apps -> Settings Storage -> Settings.db -> System
Search "panel" without " & you'll find 3 entries which start with Wifi;Location;
and edit them all, replace the pre-existing entry with
Wifi;Location;SilentMode;AutoRotate;Bluetooth;SideKey;Toolbox;DormantMode;PowerSaving;UltraPowerSaving;AirplaneMode;DrivingMode;MultiWindow;AllShareCast;SBeam;Nfc;TouchSensitivity;AirView;AirGesture;Sync;Ebook;MobileData;WiFiHotspot;NetworkBooster;PersonalMode;SmartStay;SmartPause;SmartScroll;AdaptiveDisplay;
and save.
Now, within SQL Editor goto Apps -> Settings Storage -> Settings.db -> Global
Search "head" without " and you'll see heads_up_notifications_enabled
Choose and change its current value from 1 to 0 and save it too.
Open settings and goto Device -> Notification panel -> Reset
